Proverbs 31
1 The words of king Lemuel; the oracle which his mother taught him.
१ही लमुएल राजाची वचने आहेत त्याच्या आईने त्यास शिकवलेली देववाणीः
2 What, my son? and what, O son of my womb, and what, O son of my vows?
२ऐक, माझ्या मुला? ऐक, माझ्या पोटच्या मुला? ऐक, माझ्या नवसाच्या मुला?
3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
३तू आपली शक्ती स्त्रियांना देऊ नको, किंवा आपले मार्ग राजांचा नाश करणाऱ्यास देऊ नको.
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes [to say], Where is strong drink?
४हे लमुएला, द्राक्षरस पिणे हे राजांना शोभत नाही, आणि मादक पेय कोठे आहे? असे म्हणणे अधिपतींना शोभत नाही.
5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any that is afflicted.
५ते प्याले तर कायदा काय म्हणतो ते विसरून जातील, नंतर ते गरीबांचा न्याय उलटा करतील.
6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter in soul:
६जो नाशास लागला आहे त्यास मादक पेय दे. आणि खिन्न जिवाला द्राक्षरस दे.
7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
७त्याने पिऊन आपले दारिद्र्य विसरावे आणि त्याने आपले सर्व क्लेश विसरावे.
8 Open thy mouth for the dumb, in the cause of all such as are left desolate.
८जो कोणी स्वतःसाठी बोलू शकत नाही त्यांच्यासाठी बोल, गरीबांच्या हक्कांसाठी आपले तोंड उघड.
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and minister judgment to the poor and needy.
९तू आपले मुख उघड आणि जे योग्य आहे त्याचा योग्य रीतीने न्याय कर, आणि ते गरीब व गरजू आहेत त्यांची बाजू मांडून त्यांना न्याय कर.
10 A virtuous woman who can find? for her price is far above rubies.
१०हुशार व कार्यक्षम पत्नी कोणाला सापडेल? पण तिचे मोल मौल्यवान खड्यांपेक्षा अधिक आहे.
11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no lack of gain.
११तिच्या पतीचे मन तिच्यावर भरवसा ठेवते, तो कधीही गरीब होणार नाही.
12 She doeth him good and not evil all the days of her life.
१२ती आपल्या आयुष्याच्या सर्व दिवशी त्याच्यासाठी चांगल्या गोष्टी करते आणि अनिष्ट करत नाही.
13 She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
१३ती लोकर आणि ताग निवडते, आणि आपल्या हातांनी आनंदाने काम करते.
14 She is like the merchant-ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
१४ती व्यापाऱ्याच्या जहाजासारखी आहे, ती आपले अन्न दुरून आणते.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and their task to her maidens.
१५रात्र गेली नाही तोच ती उठून, आपल्या कुटुंबासाठी अन्न शिजवते, आणि नोकर मुलींना काय करायचे ते काम वाटून देते.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
१६ती शेताविषयी विचार करून ते विकत घेते, ती आपल्या हातांच्या श्रमाने द्राक्षाचे मळे लावते.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
१७ती स्वतःला बलरुप पोशाख घालते, आणि आपले बाहू बळकट करते.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is profitable: her lamp goeth not out by night.
१८आपला उद्योग फायदेशीर आहे हे तिला कळते; सर्व रात्री तिचा दिवा विझत नाही.
19 She layeth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
१९ती आपला हात चातीला लावते, आणि ती गुंडाळलेला दोरा धरते.
20 She spreadeth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
२०ती आपला हात नेहमी गरीबांसाठी उघडते; ती गरजवंतास देण्यास आपला हात पुढे करते.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
२१आपल्या कुटुंबासाठी तिला बर्फाचे भय वाटत नाही, कारण तिचे सर्व कुटुंब किरमिजी वस्त्र पांघरलेले असते.
22 She maketh for herself carpets of tapestry; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
२२ती आपल्या अंथरुणावर टाकायला चादरी आणि पांघरायला तलम तागाचे जांभळे वस्त्र तयार करते.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
२३तिचा पती वेशीत, देशातल्या वडिलांमध्ये बसलेला असता त्यास लोक ओळखतात.
24 She maketh linen garments and selleth them; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
२४ती तागाची वस्त्रे करते आणि ते विकते, ती व्यापाऱ्यांना कमरबंध पुरवते.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing; and she laugheth at the time to come.
२५बल व आदर तिचे वस्त्र आहेत, आणि ती येणाऱ्या काळामध्ये आनंदी राहू शकते.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and the law of kindness is on her tongue.
२६तिच्या मुखातून सुज्ञतेचे बोल निघतात. आणि दयेचा नियम तिच्या जिभेवर आहे.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
२७ती कधीही आळशी नसते; ती आपल्या कुटुंबाच्या मार्गाकडे लक्ष देते, आणि आळसाची भाकर खात नाही.
28 Her children rise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her, [saying]:
२८तिची मुले उठतात आणि ती त्यांना जे काही आनंद देईल ते देते; तिचा पती तिची प्रशंसा करून, म्हणतो,
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
२९“पुष्कळ स्त्रियांनी चांगले केले आहे, पण तू त्या सर्वांहून उत्कृष्ट आहेस.”
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: [but] a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
३०लावण्य फसवे आहे आणि सौंदर्य हे व्यर्थ आहे, पण तू जी स्त्री परमेश्वराचे भय धरते तिची प्रशंसा होते.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her works praise her in the gates.
३१तिच्या हाताचे फळ तिला द्या, आणि तिच्या कृत्यांनी भर वेशीत तिची प्रशंसा होवो.
