Proverbs 29
1 He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck shall suddenly be broken, and that without remedy.
കൂടക്കൂടെ ശാസന കേട്ടിട്ടും ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നവൻ നീക്കുപോക്കില്ലാതെ പെട്ടെന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും.
2 When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice: but when a wicked man beareth rule, the people sigh.
നീതിമാന്മാർ വൎദ്ധിക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടൻ ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുമ്പോഴോ ജനം നെടുവീൎപ്പിടുന്നു.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth [his] substance.
ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവൻ തന്റെ അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വേശ്യകളോടു സഹവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ തന്റെ സമ്പത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that exacteth gifts overthroweth it.
രാജാവു ന്യായപാലനത്താൽ രാജ്യത്തെ നിലനിൎത്തുന്നു; നികുതി വൎദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനോ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his steps.
കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു മുഖസ്തുതി പറയുന്നവൻ അവന്റെ കാലിന്നു ഒരു വല വിരിക്കുന്നു.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
ദുഷ്കൎമ്മി തന്റെ ലംഘനത്തിൽ കുടുങ്ങുന്നു; നീതിമാനോ ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
7 The righteous taketh knowledge of the cause of the poor: the wicked hath not understanding to know [it].
നീതിമാൻ അഗതികളുടെ കാൎയ്യം അറിയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടനോ പരിജ്ഞാനം ഇന്നതെന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല.
8 Scornful men set a city in a flame: but wise men turn away wrath.
പരിഹാസികൾ പട്ടണത്തിൽ കോപാഗ്നി ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനികളോ ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
9 If a wise man hath a controversy with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there will be no rest.
ജ്ഞാനിക്കും ഭോഷന്നും തമ്മിൽ വാഗ്വാദം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു അവൻ കോപിച്ചാലോ ചിരിച്ചാലോ ശമനം വരികയില്ല.
10 The bloodthirsty hate him that is perfect: and as for the upright, they seek his life.
രക്തപാതകന്മാർ നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവരോ അവന്റെ പ്രാണരക്ഷ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.
11 A fool uttereth all his anger: but a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it.
മൂഢൻ തന്റെ കോപത്തെ മുഴുവനും വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനിയോ അതിനെ അടക്കി ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
12 If a ruler hearkeneth to falsehood, all his servants are wicked.
അധിപതി നുണ കേൾപ്പാൻ തുടങ്ങിയാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരൊക്കെയും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരാകും.
13 The poor man and the oppressor meet together: the LORD lighteneth the eyes of them both.
ദരിദ്രനും പീഡകനും തമ്മിൽ എതിർപെടുന്നു; ഇരുവരുടെയും കണ്ണു യഹോവ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
അഗതികൾക്കു വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുന്ന രാജാവിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself causeth shame to his mother.
വടിയും ശാസനയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെ നല്കുന്നു; തന്നിഷ്ടത്തിന്നു വിട്ടിരുന്ന ബാലനോ അമ്മെക്കു ലജ്ജ വരുത്തുന്നു.
16 When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall look upon their fall.
ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ പെരുകുമ്പോൾ അതിക്രമം പെരുകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ അവരുടെ വീഴ്ച കാണും.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
നിന്റെ മകനെ ശിക്ഷിക്ക; അവൻ നിനക്കു ആശ്വാസമായ്തീരും; അവൻ നിന്റെ മനസ്സിന്നു പ്രമോദംവരുത്തും.
18 Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
വെളിപ്പാടു ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു ജനം മൎയ്യാദവിട്ടു നടക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not give heed.
ദാസനെ ഗുണീകരിപ്പാൻ വാക്കു മാത്രം പോരാ; അവൻ അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചാലും കൂട്ടാക്കുകയില്ലല്ലോ.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
വാക്കിൽ ബദ്ധപ്പാടുള്ള മനുഷ്യനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവനെക്കാൾ മൂഢനെക്കുറിച്ചു അധികം പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become a son at the last.
ദാസനെ ബാല്യംമുതൽ ലാളിച്ചുവളൎത്തുന്നവനോടു അവൻ ഒടുക്കം ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കും.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.
കോപമുള്ളവൻ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ക്രോധമുള്ളവൻ അതിക്രമം വൎദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honour.
മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗൎവ്വം അവനെ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; മനോവിനയമുള്ളവനോ മാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth the adjuration and uttereth nothing.
കള്ളനുമായി പങ്കു കൂടുന്നവൻ സ്വന്ത പ്രാണനെ പകെക്കുന്നു; അവൻ സത്യവാചകം കേൾക്കുന്നു; ഒന്നും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
മാനുഷഭയം ഒരു കണി ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favour: but a man’s judgment [cometh] from the LORD.
അനേകർ അധിപതിയുടെ മുഖപ്രസാദം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന്റെ ന്യായവിധിയോ യഹോവയാൽ വരുന്നു.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous: and he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
നീതികെട്ടവൻ നീതിമാന്മാൎക്കു വെറുപ്പു; സന്മാൎഗ്ഗി ദുഷ്ടന്മാൎക്കും വെറുപ്പു.
