Proverbs 26
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
၁နွေကာလ၌ မိုဃ်းပွင့်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ စပါးရိတ်ရာကာလ ၌ မိုဃ်းရေကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ မိုက်သောသူသည် ဂုဏ်အသရေကို မခံသင့်။
2 As the sparrow in her wandering, as the swallow in her flying, so the curse that is causeless lighteth not.
၂စာငှက်သည် အရပ်ရပ်လှည့်လည်၍၊ ဇရက်သည် လည်း ပျံသွားသကဲ့သို့၊ ထိုနည်းတူ အကြောင်းမရှိသော ကျိန်ဆဲခြင်းသည် မသင့်မရောက်တတ်။
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the back of fools.
၃မြင်းဘို့နှင်တံ၊ မြင်းဘို့ဇက်ကြိုး၊ မိုက်သောသူ၏ ကျောဘို့ ကြိမ်လုံးသည် သင့်ပေ၏။
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
၄မိုက်သောသူ၏ သဘောသို့လိုက်၍၊ သူ၏စကား ကို မချေနှင့်။ ထိုသို့ချေလျှင် သူနှင့်တူလိမ့်မည်။
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
၅မိုက်သောသူ၏ သဘောသို့လိုက်၍ သူ၏စကား ကို ချေလော့။ သို့မဟုတ်၊ သူသည် ဝါကြွားသောစိတ် ရှိလိမ့် မည်။
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off [his own] feet, [and] drinketh in damage.
၆မိုက်သော သူတွင် မှာ လိုက်သောသူသည် ကိုယ်ခြေကို ဖြတ်၍ အကျိုးနည်းရှိ၏။
7 The legs of the lame hang loose: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
၇သုတ္တံစကားကို မိုက်သောသူ ပြောခြင်းသည် ခြေဆွံ့သောသူ၏ ခြေကြွခြင်း ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၏။
8 As a bag of gems in a heap of stones, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
၈မိုက်သောသူကို ချီးမြှောက်ခြင်းသည် ကျောက်ပုံ ၌ ကျောက်မြတ်ကို ပစ်ထားခြင်းကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်၏။
9 [As] a thorn that goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the month of fools.
၉ဆူးသည် ယစ်မူးသောသူ၏လက်ကို စူးသကဲ့သို့၊ သတ္တံစကားသည် မိုက်သောသူ၏ နှုတ်၌ရှိ၏။
10 [As] an archer that woundeth all, so is he that hireth the fool and he that hireth them that pass by.
၁၀ကြီးသောသူသည် ခပ်သိမ်းသောသူတို့ကို တုန်လှုပ်စေတတ်၏။ မိုက်သောသူနှင့် ပြစ်မှားတတ် သော သူတို့ကို စေသုံးတတ်၏။
11 As a dog that returneth to his vomit, [so is] a fool that repeateth his folly.
၁၁ခွေးသည် မိမိအန်ဖတ်ကို ပြန်၍စားတတ်သကဲ့ သို့၊ မိုက်သောသူသည် မိုက်သောအကျင့်ကို ပြန်၍ ကျင့်တတ်၏။
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
၁၂ငါသည် ပညာရှိ၏ဟု ထင်သောသူရှိလျှင်၊ ထိုသူ၌ မြော်လင့်စရာအခွင့်ရှိသည်ထက်၊ မိုက်သောသူ၌ သာ၍ မြော်လင့်စရာအခွင့်ရှိ၏။
13 The sluggard saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
၁၃ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ အိမ်ပြင်မှာခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏။ လမ်းတို့၌ ခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။
14 [As] the door turneth upon its hinges, so doth the sluggard upon his bed.
၁၄တံခါးရွက်သည် စရွေး၌လည်သကဲ့သို့ ပျင်းရိ သောသူသည် အိပ်ရာပေါ်မှာ လည်တတ်၏။
15 The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish; it wearieth him to bring it again to his mouth.
၁၅ပျင်းရိသောသူသည် မိမိလက်ကို အိုး၌သွင်း သော်လည်း၊ တဖန်နှုတ်၍ မိမိပစပ်သို့ ခွံရလျှင် စိတ်ညစ် တတ်၏။
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
၁၆ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ ငါသည် အကျိုးအကြောင်းကို ပြတတ်သောသူ ခုနစ်ယောက်ထက်သာ၍ ပညာရှိသည် ဟု ကိုယ်ကိုထင်တတ်၏။
17 He that passeth by, [and] vexeth himself with strife belonging not to him, is [like] one that taketh a dog by the ears.
၁၇လမ်း၌ရှောက်သွား၍ မိမိမဆိုင်သောအမှုကို ရောနှောသောသူသည် ခွေးနားရွက်ကို ကိုင်ဆွဲသောသူ နှင့်တူ၏။
18 As a madman who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death;
၁၈ငါကျီစားရုံမျှသာ ပြုသည်ဟုဆိုလျက်၊
19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
၁၉မိမိအိမ်နီးချင်းကို လှည့်စားသောသူသည် မီးစ၊ မြှား၊ သေဘေးကို ပစ်တတ်သော အရူးနှင့်တူ၏။
20 For lack of wood the fire goeth out: and where there is no whisperer, contention ceaseth.
၂၀ထင်းမရှိလျှင် မီးသေတတ်သကဲ့သို့ ကုန်းတိုက် သော သူမရှိလျှင် ရန်ငြိမ်းတတ်၏။
21 [As] coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to inflame strife.
၂၁မီးခဲချင်းပြုသကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ ထင်းသည် မီးကိုမွေး သကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ ရန်တွေ့တတ်သောသူသည် ခိုက်ရန်မှုကို ပြုစုတတ်၏။
22 The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
၂၂ကုန်းတိုက်သော သူ၏စကားသည် မြိန်သော ခဲဘွယ် စားဘွယ်ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ ဝမ်းအတွင်းသို့ဝင်တတ်၏။
23 Fervent lips and a wicked heart are [like] an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross.
၂၃ချစ်အားကြီးသောနှုတ်နှင့်၊ ဆိုးညစ်သော စိတ် နှလုံးသည် ချော်မွမ်းမံသော အိုးခြမ်းနှင့်တူ၏။
24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, but he layeth up deceit within him:
၂၄အငြိုးထားသောသူသည် နှုတ်ဖြင့်လျှို့ဝှက်၍၊ ကိုယ်ထဲမှာလှည့်စားသော သဘောကို ဝှက်ထားတတ်၏။
25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not; for there are seven abominations in his heart:
၂၅ထိုသို့သောသူ၏ စကားသည် ချိုသော်လည်း မယုံနှင့်။ သူ၏စိတ်နှလုံးထဲမှာ စက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာဘွယ်သော အရာခုနစ်ပါးရှိ၏။
26 Though [his] hatred cover itself with guile, his wickedness shall be openly shewed before the congregation.
၂၆အငြိုးထားခြင်းကို လှည့်စားခြင်းအားဖြင့် ဝှက် ထားသောသူ၏ ဒုစရိုက်အပြစ်သည် ပရိသတ်ရှေ့မှာ ထင်ရှားလိမ့်မည်။
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him.
၂၇တွင်းတူးသောသူသည် မိမိတွင်းထဲသို့ ကျလိမ့် မည်။ ကျောက်ကို လှိမ့်သောသူအပေါ်သို့ ထိုကျောက် သည် ပြန်၍လိမ့် လိမ့်မည်။
28 A lying tongue hateth those whom it hath wounded; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
၂၈မုသားပြောတတ်သောသူသည် မိမိညှဉ်းဆဲ သောသူတို့ကို မုန်းတတ်၏။ ချော့မော့တတ်သော သူသည်လည်း ဖျက်ဆီးတတ်၏။
