Proverbs 2
1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee;
૧મારા દીકરા, જો તું મારાં વચનોનો સ્વીકાર કરશે અને મારી આજ્ઞાઓને તારી પાસે સંઘરી રાખીને,
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
૨ડહાપણની વાત સાંભળશે અને બુદ્ધિમાં તારું મન કેન્દ્રિત કરશે;
3 Yea, if thou cry after discernment, and lift up thy voice for understanding;
૩જો તું વિવેકબુદ્ધિને માટે પોકાર કરશે અને સમજણ મેળવવાને માટે ખંત રાખશે;
4 If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
૪જો તું ચાંદીની જેમ તેની શોધ કરશે અને સંતાડેલા ખજાનાની જેમ તેને શોધશે;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
૫તો તને યહોવાહના ભયની સમજણ પડશે અને તને ઈશ્વરનું ડહાપણ પ્રાપ્ત થશે.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding:
૬કેમ કે યહોવાહ ડહાપણ આપે છે, તેમના મુખમાંથી ડહાપણ અને સમજણ વ્યક્ત થાય છે.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright, [he is] a shield to them that walk in integrity;
૭તે સત્યજનોને માટે ખરું ડહાપણ સંગ્રહ કરી રાખે છે, પ્રામાણિકપણાથી વર્તનારને તે ઢાલરૂપ છે.
8 That he may guard the paths of judgment, and preserve the way of his saints.
૮તે ન્યાયના માર્ગની રક્ષા કરે છે અને પોતાના વિશ્વાસુ લોકોની કાળજી લે છે.
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment, and equity, [yea], every good path.
૯ત્યારે તું નેકી, ન્યાય તથા ઇનસાફને, હા, દરેક સત્યમાર્ગને સમજશે.
10 For wisdom shall enter into thine heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;
૧૦તારા હૃદયમાં ડહાપણ પ્રવેશ કરશે અને સમજ તારા આત્માને આનંદકારક લાગશે.
11 Discretion shall watch over thee, understanding shall keep thee:
૧૧વિવેકબુદ્ધિ તારું ધ્યાન રાખશે, બુદ્ધિ તારું રક્ષણ કરશે.
12 To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the men that speak froward things;
૧૨તેઓ તને દુષ્ટ માણસોના માર્ગમાંથી, ખોટું બોલનાર માણસો કે,
13 Who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
૧૩જેઓ સદાચારના માર્ગ તજીને અંધકારનાં માર્ગોમાં ચાલે છે.
14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;
૧૪જ્યારે તેઓ દુષ્ટતા કરે છે ત્યારે તેઓ તે કરવામાં આનંદ માણે છે અને દુષ્ટ માણસોનાં વિપરીત આચરણોથી હરખાય છે.
15 Who are crooked in their ways, and perverse in their paths:
૧૫તેઓ આડા માર્ગોને અનુસરે છે અને જેમના રસ્તા અવળા છે, તેમનાથી તેઓ તને ઉગારશે.
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
૧૬વળી ડહાપણ તથા વિવેકબુદ્ધિ તને અનૈતિક સ્ત્રીથી, એટલે પોતાના શબ્દોથી મોહ પમાડનાર પરસ્ત્રીથી બચાવશે.
17 Which forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God:
૧૭તે પોતાના જુવાનીનાં સાથીને તજી દે છે અને ઈશ્વરની આગળ કરેલો પોતાનો કરાર ભૂલી જાય છે.
18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead:
૧૮કેમ કે તેનું ઘર મૃત્યુની ખીણ તરફ અને તેનો માર્ગ મૃત્યુ તરફ જાય છે.
19 None that go unto her return again, neither do they attain unto the paths of life:
૧૯તેની પાસે જનારાઓમાંથી કોઈ પાછો ફરતો નથી અને તેઓ જીવનનો માર્ગ સંપાદન કરી શકતા નથી.
20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
૨૦તેથી તું સજ્જનોના માર્ગમાં ચાલશે અને નેક લોકોનો રસ્તો પકડી રાખશે.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
૨૧કેમ કે પ્રામાણિક માણસો જ દેશમાં ઘર બાંધશે અને પ્રામાણિક માણસો તેમાં વિદ્યમાન રહેશે.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and they that deal treacherously shall be rooted out of it.
૨૨પણ દુર્જનો દેશમાંથી નાબૂદ થશે અને અવિશ્વાસુઓને તેમાંથી ઉખેડી નાખવામાં આવશે.
