Proverbs 1
1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
१इस्राएलाचा राजा, दावीदाचा पुत्र शलमोन, याची ही नितीसूत्रे.
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;
२ज्ञान व शिक्षण शिकावे, बुद्धीच्या वचनाचे ज्ञान मिळवावे,
3 To receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness and judgment and equity;
३सुज्ञतेचे शिक्षण घेऊन जे योग्य, न्यायी, आणि चांगले ते करण्यास शिकावे,
4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion:
४भोळ्यांना शहाणपण आणि तरुणांना ज्ञान व दूरदर्शीपणा द्यावे,
5 That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; and that the man of understanding may attain unto sound counsels:
५ज्ञानी व्यक्तीने ऐकावे आणि त्याने ज्ञानात वाढावे, बुद्धीमान व्यक्तीला मार्गदर्शन मिळावे,
6 To understand a proverb, and a figure; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
६ज्ञानी लोकांची वचने आणि त्याची गूढरहस्ये समजावी, म्हणून म्हणी व सुवचने ह्यासाठी ही आहेत.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: [but] the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
७परमेश्वराचे भय ज्ञानाची सुरुवात आहे, मूर्ख ज्ञान आणि शिक्षण तुच्छ मानतात.
8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
८माझ्या मुला, तू तुझ्या वडिलांची शिकवण ऐक, आणि तू तुझ्या आईचा नियम बाजूला टाकू नकोस;
9 For they shall be a chaplet of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
९ते तुझ्या शिराला सुशोभित वेष्टन आणि तुझ्या गळ्यात लटकते पदक आहे.
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
१०माझ्या मुला, जर पापी तुला फूस लावून त्यांच्या पापात पाडण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो, तर त्याच्यामागे जाण्यास नकार दे;
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause;
११जर ते म्हणतील “आमच्याबरोबर ये. आपण वध करण्यास वाट बघू; आपण लपू व निष्कारण निष्पाप व्यक्तीवर हल्ला करू.
12 Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, and whole, as those that go down into the pit; (Sheol h7585)
१२जसे अधोलोक निरोग्यांना गिळून गर्तेत पडणाऱ्यांसारखे करतो तसे आपण त्यांना जिवंतपणीच गिळून टाकू. (Sheol h7585)
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil;
१३आपणांस सर्व प्रकारच्या मौलवान वस्तू मिळतील; आपण इतरांकडून जे चोरून त्याने आपण आपली घरे भरू.
14 Thou shalt cast thy lot among us; we will all have one purse:
१४तू आपला वाटा आम्हाबरोबर टाक, आपण सर्व मिळून एकच पिशवी घेऊ.”
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
१५माझ्या मुला, त्यांच्याबरोबर त्या मार्गाने खाली जाऊ नकोस; ते जेथून चालतात त्याचा स्पर्शही तुझ्या पावलांना होऊ देऊ नकोस;
16 For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.
१६त्यांचे पाय दुष्कृत्ये करायला धावतात, आणि ते रक्त पाडायला घाई करतात.
17 For in vain is the net spread, in the eyes of any bird:
१७एखादा पक्षी पाहत असतांना, त्यास फसवण्यासाठी जाळे पसरणे व्यर्थ आहे.
18 And these lay wait for their own blood, they lurk privily for their own lives.
१८ही माणसे तर आपल्या स्वतःचा घात करण्यासाठी टपतात. ते आपल्या स्वतःसाठी सापळा रचतात.
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; it taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
१९जो अन्यायाने संपत्ती मिळवतो त्या प्रत्येकाचे मार्ग असेच आहेत; अन्यायी धन ज्यांनी धरून ठेवले आहे ते त्यांचाही जीव घेते.
20 Wisdom crieth aloud in the street; she uttereth her voice in the broad places;
२०ज्ञान रस्त्यावर पुकारा करते, ते उघड्या जागेवर आपली वाणी उच्चारते;
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse; at the entering in of the gates, in the city, she uttereth her words:
२१ती गजबजलेल्या रस्त्याच्या नाक्यावरून घोषणा करते, शहराच्या प्रवेशद्वारापाशी घोषणा करते,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and scorners delight them in scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
२२“अहो भोळ्यांनो, जे काही तुम्हास समजत नाही त्याची किती वेळ आवड धरणार? तुम्ही चेष्टा करणारे, किती वेळ चेष्टा करण्यात आनंद पावणार, आणि मूर्ख किती वेळ ज्ञानाचा तिरस्कार करणार?
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
२३तुम्ही माझ्या निषेधाकडे लक्ष द्या; मी आपले विचार तुम्हावर ओतीन; मी आपली वचने तुम्हास कळवीन.
24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
२४मी बोलावले पण तुम्ही ऐकायला नकार दिला; मी आपला हात पुढे केला, पण कोणीही लक्ष दिले नाही.
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
२५परंतु तुम्ही माझ्या सर्व शिक्षणाचा अव्हेर केला आणि माझ्या दोषारोपाकडे दुर्लक्ष केले.
26 I also will laugh in [the day of] your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
२६म्हणून मीही तुमच्या संकटाना हसेन, तुमच्यावर संकटे आलेली पाहून मी थट्टा करीन.
27 When your fear cometh as a storm, and your calamity cometh on as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish come upon you.
२७जेव्हा वादळांप्रमाणे तुमच्यावर भितीदायक दहशत येईल, आणि तुफानाप्रमाणे तुमच्यावर समस्या आघात करतील; जेव्हा संकटे आणि दु: ख तुम्हावर येतील.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me diligently, but they shall not find me:
२८ते मला हाका मारतील आणि मी त्यांना उत्तर देणार नाही; ते माझा झटून शोध करतील, पण मी त्यांना सापडणार नाही.
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
२९कारण त्यांनी ज्ञानाचा द्वेष केला; आणि परमेश्वराचे भय निवडून घेतले नाही,
30 They would none of my counsel; they despised all my reproof:
३०त्यांनी माझ्या शिक्षणास नकार दिला, आणि त्यांनी माझी तोंडची शिक्षा अवमानली.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
३१म्हणून ते आपल्या वर्तणुकीचे फळ खातील आणि आपल्याच योजनांच्या फळाने भरले जातील.
32 For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
३२कारण जो कोणी भोळा जेव्हा दूर निघून जाईल त्याचा नाश होईल; आणि मूर्खाचे स्वस्थपण त्याचा नाश करील.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell securely, and shall be quiet without fear of evil.
३३परंतु जो कोणी माझे ऐकतो तो सुरक्षित राहतो. आणि अरिष्टाची भिती नसल्यामुळे स्वस्थ राहतो.”
