< Micah 6 >

1 Hear ye now what the LORD saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
Mou fanongo mai ki he meʻa ʻoku folofola ki ai ʻa Sihova; “Tuʻu hake, pea ke fai ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi moʻunga, pea ke fanongo ʻae ngaahi tafungofunga ki ho leʻo.
2 Hear, O ye mountains, the LORD’S controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
Fanongo ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi moʻunga ki he fakamaau ʻae ʻEiki, mo kimoutolu ʻae ngaahi tuʻunga mālohi ʻo māmani; he ʻoku ai ʻae fakamaau ʻae ʻEiki mo hono kakai, pea te ne fakamatala mo ʻIsileli.
3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
‌ʻE hoku kakai, Ko e hā kuo u fai kiate koe? Pea kuo u fakafiuʻi ko e ʻi he hā? Fakamatala mai!
4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
He ne u ʻomi koe mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite, pea ne u huhuʻi koe mei he fale ʻoe kau tamaioʻeiki, pea ne u fekau ʻa Mōsese, mo ʻElone, mo Miliami ke ʻalu ʻi ho ʻao.
5 O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; [remember] from Shittim unto Gilgal, that ye may know the righteous acts of the LORD.
‌ʻE hoku kakai, manatu eni ki he meʻa naʻe fakakaukau ki ai ʻe Pelaki, ko e tuʻi ʻo Moape, pea mo ia naʻe tali ʻaki ʻe Pelami ko e foha ʻo Peoli, mei Sitimi, ʻo aʻu ki Kilikali; koeʻuhi ke mou ʻilo ʻae māʻoniʻoni ʻa Sihova.”
6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
Te u ʻunuʻunu atu mo e ha kia Sihova, mo fakatōmapeʻe au ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua Māʻolunga? Te u ʻalu ki hono ʻao mo e ngaahi feilaulau tutu, mo e fanga ʻuhiki pulu ʻoku taha taʻu?
7 will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
‌ʻE fiemālie ʻa Sihova ʻi he ngaahi toko afe ʻoe sipitangata, pe ʻi he ngaahi vaitafe lolo ʻe taha mano? ʻE ʻatu ʻeku ʻuluaki, koeʻuhi ko ʻeku ngaahi hia; ʻae fua ʻo hoku sino, koeʻuhi ko e angahala ʻa hoku laumālie?
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Kuo ne fakahā kiate koe, ʻe tangata ʻaia ʻoku lelei; pea ko e hā ʻoku ʻamanaki ʻe Sihova ʻiate koe, ka koeʻuhi ke ke fai totonu mo ke loto ki he ʻofa, mo ke ʻaʻeva mo ho ʻOtua ʻi he angavaivai?
9 The voice of the LORD crieth unto the city, and [the man of] wisdom will see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
Ko e leʻo ʻo Sihova ʻoku ui ki he kolo, pea ʻe mamata ki ho huafa [ʻe he tangata ]poto: “Fanongo ʻakimoutolu ki he meʻa tā, pea mo ia kuo ne tuʻutuʻuni ia.
10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
‌ʻOku kei ʻi he fale ʻoe angahala ʻae koloa ʻoe angahala, mo e meʻa fua nounou ʻaia ʻoku fakalielia?
11 Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights?
Te u lau ʻakinautolu ko e maʻa ka ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae ngaahi meʻa fakamamafa kākā, pea mo e kato meʻa fakamamafa kākā?
12 For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
He ʻoku pito ʻi he fakamālohi ʻae kau tangata koloaʻia ʻi ai, pea kuo lea loi ʻae kakai ʻo ia; pea ʻoku kākā ʻa honau ʻelelo ʻi honau ngutu.
13 Therefore I also have smitten thee with a grievous wound; I have made thee desolate because of thy sins.
Ko ia foki te u fakamamahiʻi koe ʻi ho faʻa taaʻi, ʻi he ngaohi koe ke lala, koeʻuhi ko hoʻo ngaahi angahala.
14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy humiliation shall be in the midst of thee: and thou shalt remove, but shalt not carry away safe; and that which thou carriest away will I give up to the sword.
15 Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap: thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not anoint thee with oil; and the vintage, but shalt not drink the wine.
Te ke tūtuuʻi ka ʻe ʻikai te ke tuʻusi; te ke malaki ʻae ʻolive, ka ʻe ʻikai te ke takai koe ʻaki ʻae lolo; pea mo e uaine melie, ka ʻe ʻikai te ke inu uaine.
16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels: that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing; and ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
He kuo maʻu pe ʻae ngaahi fono ʻa ʻOmili, pea mo e ngaahi ngāue ʻae fale ʻo ʻEhapi, pea ʻoku mou ʻeveʻeva ʻi heʻenau ngaahi fakakaukau; koeʻuhi ke u ngaohi kimoutolu ke lala, pea mo e kakai ʻo ia ko e fakaʻiseʻisa: ko ia te mou fua ai ʻae manuki ʻa hoku kakai.”
