Matthew 8
1 And when he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
Als er aber vom Berge herabgestiegen war, folgten ihm viele Volkshaufe.
2 And behold, there came to him a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Und siehe, ein Aussätziger kam, fiel vor ihm nieder, und sprach: Herr, wenn du willst, so kannst du mich reinigen.
3 And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway his leprosy was cleansed.
Und Jesus streckte die Hand aus, rührte ihn an, und sprach: Ich will; sei gereinigt! Und alsbald war sein Aussatz gereinigt.
4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Und Jesus sagt zu ihm: Siehe zu, sage es Niemand, sondern gehe hin, zeige dich dem Priester, und opfere die Gabe, die Moses vorgeschrieben hat, ihnen zum Zeugnis.
5 And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
Als er aber nach Kapernaum gekommen war, kam ein Hauptmann zu ihm, der bat ihn,
6 and saying, Lord, my servant lieth in the house sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
Und sprach: Herr, mein Knecht liegt zu Hause gichtbrüchig, und ist schrecklich geplagt.
7 And he saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
Und Jesus sagt ihm: Ich will kommen, und ihn heilen.
8 And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
Und der Hauptmann antwortete, und sprach: Herr, ich bin nicht wert, daß du unter mein Dach kommst, sondern sprich nur ein Wort, und mein Knecht wird geheilt werden.
9 For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Denn auch ich bin ein abhängiger Mensch, habe jedoch Soldaten unter mir, und sage ich zu diesem: gehe hin! so geht er, und zu einem anderen: komm! so kommt er, und zu meinem Knecht: tue das! so tut er´s.
10 And when Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Da das Jesus hörte, verwunderte er sich, und sprach zu denen, die ihm nachfolgten: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, nicht einmal in Israel habe ich solchen Glauben gefunden.
11 And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:
Aber ich sage euch: Viele vom Morgen und vom Abend werden kommen, und zu Tische liegen mit Abraham und Isaak und Jakob, in der Himmelsherrschaft.
12 but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Aber die Söhne der Gottesherrschaft werden hinausgeworfen werden, in die Finsternis draußen, woselbst Heulen und Zähneknirschen sein wird.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee. And the servant was healed in that hour.
Und Jesus sprach zu dem Hauptmann: Gehe hin, und wie du geglaubt hast, so geschehe dir! Und sein Knecht ward geheilt in jener Stunde.
14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick of a fever.
Und als Jesus in das Haus des Petrus kam, sah er dessen Schwiegermutter am Fieber darniederliegen.
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose, and ministered unto him.
Und er rührte ihre Hand an, und das Fieber verließ sie, und sie stand auf und diente ihm.
16 And when even was come, they brought unto him many possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick:
Als es aber Abend geworden war, brachten sie zu ihm viele Besessene, und er trieb die Geister aus durchs Wort, und heilte alle, die sich übel befanden;
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our diseases.
Damit erfüllt würde das gesagt ist durch den Propheten Jesaias, der da spricht: "Er nahm unsere Krankheiten und trug unsere Gebrechen fort."
18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
Da aber Jesus viele Volkshaufen um sich sah, befahl er ans jenseitige Ufer zu fahren.
19 And there came a scribe, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
Und es kam ein Schriftgelehrter herbei, der sagte ihm: Lehrer, ich folge dir, wohin du auch gehst.
20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Und Jesus spricht zu ihm: Die Füchse haben Gruben, und die Vögel des Himmels Nester, der Menschensohn aber hat nicht, wo er das Haupt hinlege.
21 And another of the disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Ein anderer seiner Jünger sagte ihm: Herr erlaube mir, zuerst hinzugehen, und meinen Vater zu begraben.
22 But Jesus saith unto him, Follow me; and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
Jesus aber sagte ihm: Folge mir nach, und laß die Toten ihre Toten begraben.
23 And when he was entered into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Und als er in das Boot stieg, folgten ihm seine Jünger nach.
24 And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
Und siehe, ein großes Ungstüm entstand auf dem See, daß das Boot von den Wellen bedeckt war; er aber schlief.
25 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Save, Lord; we perish.
Und es kamen seine Jünger herzu, weckten ihn, und sprachen: Herr, hilf wir sterben!
26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Und er sagte ihnen: Kleingläubige, warum seid ihr verzagt? Dann stund er auf, bedrohte die Winde und den See, und es ward eine große Windstille.
27 And the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
Die Leute aber verwunderten sich und sprachen: Was für einer ist dieser, daß auch die Winde und der See ihm gehorchen?
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming forth out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man could pass by that way.
Und als er am jenseitigen Ufer angekommen war, im Gebiet der Gadarener, begegneten ihm zwei Besessene, welche aus den Felsengräbern herauskamen, und sehr bösartig waren, so daß niemand jenes Wegs gehen konnte.
29 And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Und siehe, sie schrien, und sprachen: Was haben wir mit dir zu schaffen? Sohn Gottes! Bist du hierher gekommen, vor der Zeit uns zu quälen?
30 Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding.
Es war aber fern von ihnen eine große Herde Schweine, welche weidete.
31 And the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.
Die Dämonen baten ihn, und sprachen: Wenn du uns austreibst, so sende uns in die Herde Schweine.
32 And he said unto them, Go. And they came out, and went into the swine: and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep into the sea, and perished in the waters.
Und er sprach zu ihnen: Fahret hin! Die aber fuhren aus, und fuhren in die Schweine. Und siehe, die ganze Herde stürzte den Abhang hinunter in den See, und kamen um im Gewässern.
33 And they that fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to them that were possessed with devils.
Die Hirten aber flohen, und gingen hin in die Stadt, und verkündigten alles, auch was mit den Besessenen geschehen war.
34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought [him] that he would depart from their borders.
Und siehe, die ganze Stadt ging hinaus, Jesus zu begegnen, und als sie ihn sahen, baten sie ihn, daß er von ihren Grenzen wiche.
