< Matthew 11 >
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities.
Yesuusi tammanne nam77u tamaareta kiitaa onggidaappe guye yaappe denddidi tamaarssanawunne sabbakanaw Galiila katamata bis.
2 Now when John heard in the prison the works of the Christ, he sent by his disciples,
Yohaannisi qasho keethan de7ishe Kiristtoosi oothiyabata si7idi, ba tamaaretappe iyaakko kiittidi,
3 and said unto him, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?
“Yaana geetettiday neneyye? Woykko nuuni haraa naaginoo?” yaagidi oychchis.
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Go your way and tell John the things which ye do hear and see:
Yesuusi enttako zaaridi, “Bidi hintte si7iyabaanne hintte be7iyabaa Yohaannisas odite.
5 the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidings preached to them.
Qooqeti xeellosona, wobbeti hamuttoosona, baro hargganchchoti paxoosona, tulleti si7oosona, hayqqidayssati hayqoppe denddoosona; manqotas Wonggelay sabbakettees.
6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall find none occasion of stumbling in me.
Tanan dhubettonay anjjettidayssa” yaagis.
7 And as these went their way, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken with the wind?
Yohaannisa tamaareti guye simmidi bin, Yesuusi deriyas Yohaannisabaa odishe, “Ha bazzuwa ay be7anaw keyidetii? Carkkoy qaathiya maqqaa be7anaw yidetiyye?
8 But what went ye out for to see? a man clothed in soft [raiment]? Behold, they that wear soft [raiment] are in kings’ houses.
Yaatin, ay be7anaw keyidetii? Kitte ma7o ma77ida ase be7anaaseyye? Kitte ma7o ma77idayssati kawota keethan de7oosona.
9 But wherefore went ye out? to see a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
Yaatin, ay be7anaw keyidetii? Nabe be7anaaseyye? Hekko, hintte nabeppekka aadhdheyssa be7eeta.
10 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way before thee.
“Ne ogiya ne sinthan giigisiya ta kiitanchchuwa neeppe sinthe kiittana” geetettidi xaafettiday iyassa.
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptist: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Ta hinttew tuma odays; maccasappe yelettidayssata giddofe Yohaannisappe aadhdhey oonikka baawa; salo kawotethan ubbaafe guuxey I, iyappe aadhdhana.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and men of violence take it by force.
Xammaqiya Yohaannisa wodiyappe doomidi hachchi gakkanaw salo kawotethay daro naaqettees, minnida asati wolqqan yaa gelana.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
Nabeti ubbaynne Muse higgey Yohaannisa wode gakkanaw salo kawotethaabaa tinbbite odidosona.
14 And if ye are willing to receive [it], this is Elijah, which is to come.
Hiza, hintte entta kiitaa ammanana gidikko, yaana geetettida Eliyaasi, I Yohaannisa.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Hiza, si7iya haythi de7ey si7o.
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the marketplaces, which call unto their fellows,
“Hiza, ha wodiya yeletethaa aybira daaniso? Giya giddon uttidi woli xeegidi,
17 and say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not mourn.
‘Nu hinttew suusul77e punnin; hintte yexxeketa. Nu sabbidi zeleelin; hintte yeekkeketa’ yaagiya nayta daanosona.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
Xammaqiya Yohaannisi moonnanne uyonna yin, ‘Tuna ayyaani de7ees’ yaagideta.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! And wisdom is justified by her works.
Asa Na7ay mishenne uyishe yin, ‘Yarambbanne ushshanchcho, qaraxa qanxiseyssatanne nagaaranchchota dabbo’ yaagideta. Hiza, cinccatethaa tumatethay iya oosuwan qonccees” yaagis.
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not.
Hessafe guye, Yesuusi daro malaatata oothida katamatan de7iya asati bantta nagaraappe simmidi maarotan gelonna ixxida gisho enttana,
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“Ayye Koraaziine katamaw, ayye Beetesayda katamaw, ays giikko, hintte giddon oosettida malaatati Xiiroosaninne Sidoonan oosettida gidiyakko, entti beni bido tiyettidi, kalliiya ma7idi bantta nagaraappe simmi aggana.
22 Howbeit I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment, than for you.
Shin ta hinttew odays; pirdda gallas hinttefe aathidi Xiroosasinne Sidoonas pirdday kawuyana.
23 And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt go down unto Hades: for if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in thee, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs )
Qassi, Qifirnahoome, neeni pude salo keyanaw koyay? Hanenna! Neeni Si7oolen yegettana. Ays giikko, ne giddon oosettida malaatati Soodomen oosettidabaa gidiyakko, Soodomey hachchi gakkanaw de7anashin. (Hadēs )
24 Howbeit I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
Shin ta new odays; pirdda gallas neeppe aathidi Soodomes pirdday kawuyana” yaagidi hanqettis.
25 At that season Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes:
He wode Yesuusi, “Aawaw, saluwanne sa7aa Godaw, neeni hayssa eranchchotappenne cinccatappe genthada naytas qonccisida gisho, nena galatays.
26 yea, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight.
Ee, ta Aawaw, hayssi ne lo77o sheniyada hanis.
27 All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth the Son, save the Father; neither doth any know the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal [him].
“Ubbay taw ta Aawappe imettis. Aawappe hari Na7a erey baawa, Na7aappenne I enttaw qonccisanaw koyeyssatappe hari Aawa eranaw dandda7ey baawa.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Hinttenoo, daaburanchchoto, toohoy deexida ubbay taakko haa yiite; taani hinttena shemppisana.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Taani ta wozanan ashkkenne aada gidiya gisho, ta qambbaran gelite, taappe tamaarite; hinttee, hintte shemppuwas shemppo demmana.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Ta qambbaray liiqo, qassi ta toohoykka kawushshe” yaagis.
