Luke 6
1 Now it came to pass on a sabbath, that he was going through the cornfields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
Un sábado, Él pasó por los sembrados. Los discípulos arrancaban espigas, las restregaban con las manos y comían.
2 But certain of the Pharisees said, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day?
Y algunos de los fariseos dijeron: ¿Por qué hacen [ustedes] lo que no es lícito los sábados?
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was an hungred, he, and they that were with him;
Jesús les preguntó: ¿Ni siquiera leyeron lo que hizo David cuando él y sus hombres tuvieron hambre?
4 how he entered into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
Él entró en la Casa de Dios y tomó los Panes de la Presentación, de los cuales no es lícito comer sino solo a los sacerdotes. Comió y dio a los que estaban con él.
5 And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
El Hijo del Hombre es Señor del sábado.
6 And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
Otro sábado Él entró en la congregación a enseñar. Estaba allí un hombre que tenía [la] mano derecha paralizada.
7 And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.
Los escribas y los fariseos lo observaban atentamente para ver si sanaba en sábado, a fin de hallar de qué acusarlo.
8 But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
Pero Él sabía lo que pensaban y mandó al hombre que tenía la mano paralizada: Levántate. Ponte en medio. Y se puso en pie.
9 And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
Entonces Jesús les preguntó: ¿Es lícito en sábado hacer el bien o el mal? ¿Salvar una vida o quitarla?
10 And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did [so]: and his hand was restored.
Al mirar a todos alrededor, dijo: Extiende tu mano. El hombre lo hizo, y su mano fue restaurada.
11 But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
Pero ellos se llenaron de ira y discutían qué hacer a Jesús.
12 And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
En aquellos días Él subió a la montaña para hablar con Dios, y pasó toda la noche en la conversación con Dios.
13 And when it was day, he called his disciples: and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles;
Cuando amaneció llamó a sus discípulos y escogió a 12 de ellos, a quienes llamó apóstoles:
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
a Simón, a quien llamó Pedro, a su hermano Andrés, también a Jacobo, Juan, Felipe, Bartolomé,
15 and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon which was called the Zealot,
Mateo, Tomás, Jacobo, [hijo] de Alfeo, Simón el Zelote,
16 and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, which was the traitor;
Judas, [hijo] de Jacobo, y Judas Iscariote el traidor.
17 and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judaea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
Bajó con ellos y se detuvo en un lugar plano. Una multitud de sus discípulos y del pueblo de Judea, Jerusalén y de la región costera de Tiro y Sidón,
18 and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
acudió a oírlo y para que los sanara. Y los atormentados por espíritus impuros también eran sanados.
19 And all the multitude sought to touch him: for power came forth from him, and healed [them] all.
Toda la multitud procuraba tocarlo, porque salía poder de Él y sanaba a todos.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are] ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Al levantar sus ojos hacia sus discípulos, decía: Inmensamente felices los pobres, porque de ustedes es el reino de Dios.
21 Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are] ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Inmensamente felices los que ahora tienen hambre, porque serán saciados. Inmensamente felices ustedes, los que ahora lloran, porque reirán.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
Inmensamente felices serán cuando los hombres los aborrezcan, cuando los excluyan, insulten y rechacen su nombre por causa del Hijo del Hombre.
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap [for joy]: for behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Ese día regocíjense y salten, porque su recompensa será grande en el cielo, pues sus antepasados trataban así a los profetas.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
Pero ¡ay de ustedes los ricos, porque [ya] tienen su consuelo!
25 Woe unto you, ye that are full now! for ye shall hunger. Woe [unto you], ye that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
¡Ay de ustedes, los que están saciados, porque tendrán hambre! ¡Ay de los que ahora ríen, porque lamentarán y llorarán!
26 Woe [unto you], when all men shall speak well of you! for in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets.
¡Ay, cuando todos los hombres digan bien de ustedes, porque así hacían sus antepasados con los falsos profetas!
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,
Pero a ustedes quienes me oyen [les] digo: Amen a sus enemigos, hagan bien a los que los aborrecen,
28 bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
bendigan a los que los maldicen, hablen con Dios a favor de los que los maltratan.
29 To him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloke withhold not thy coat also.
Al que te golpea en la mejilla, preséntale también la otra, y al que te quita la ropa externa, no [le] retengas la interna.
30 Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
A todo el que te pide dale, y al que te quite lo tuyo no [le] reclames.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Traten a los demás como desean que los traten a ustedes.
32 And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
Pues si aman a los que los aman, ¿qué mérito tienen? ¡Aun los pecadores aman a los que los aman!
33 And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
Cuando hagan bien a los que les hacen bien, ¿qué mérito tienen? Los pecadores hacen lo mismo.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
Cuando presten a aquellos de quienes esperan recibir, ¿qué mérito tienen? Los pecadores también se prestan entre ellos para recibir la misma cantidad.
35 But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
Pero amen a sus enemigos y hagan bien. Presten sin esperar algo [a cambio] y su galardón será grande. Serán hijos del Altísimo, porque Él es bondadoso con los ingratos y perversos.
36 Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
Sean misericordiosos como su Padre es misericordioso.
37 And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
No juzguen, y que de ningún modo sean juzgados. No condenen, y que de ningún modo sean condenados. Perdonen y serán perdonados.
38 give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
Den y recibirán: Medida buena, apretada, sacudida y rebosada darán en su regazo. Porque con [la] medida que miden se les medirá.
39 And he spake also a parable unto them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?
También les dijo una parábola: ¿Puede un ciego guiar a otro ciego? ¿No se caerán ambos en un hoyo?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his master.
Un discípulo no es superior a su maestro, pero aquél que recibe el adiestramiento será como su maestro.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
¿Por qué miras la concha de grano en el ojo de tu hermano, pero no notas la viga que está en tu propio ojo?
42 Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
¿Cómo puedes decir a tu hermano: Hermano, deja que saque la concha de grano que está en tu ojo, y tú mismo no ves la viga que está en el tuyo? ¡Hipócrita, saca primero la viga de tu ojo, y entonces verás bien para sacar la concha de grano que está en el ojo de tu hermano!
43 For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.
No hay árbol bueno que produzca fruto malo, ni árbol malo que produzca fruto bueno.
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
Cada árbol es conocido por su propio fruto. No recogen higos de espinos, ni cosechan uvas de una zarza.
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
El hombre bueno del tesoro bueno del corazón saca lo bueno, y el malvado saca lo malvado, porque de [la] abundancia del corazón habla su boca.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
¿Por qué me llaman: Señor, Señor, y no hacen lo que digo?
47 Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Les mostraré a quién es semejante todo el que viene a Mí, oye [mis] Palabras y las practica.
48 he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
Es semejante a un hombre que edificó una casa. Excavó profundamente y puso un cimiento sobre la roca. Hubo una inundación, el torrente embistió contra aquella casa, pero no pudo sacudirla porque estaba bien fundada.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.
Pero el que oye y no practica, es semejante a un hombre que edificó una casa sin cimiento sobre la tierra, contra la cual irrumpió el torrente. Inmediatamente colapsó, y fue grande la ruina de aquella casa.
