Luke 6
1 Now it came to pass on a sabbath, that he was going through the cornfields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
एक शब्बाथ पर प्रभु येशु अन्न के खेत से होकर जा रहे थे. उनके शिष्यों ने बालें तोड़कर, मसल-मसल कर खाना प्रारंभ कर दिया.
2 But certain of the Pharisees said, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day?
यह देख कुछ फ़रीसियों ने कहा, “आप शब्बाथ पर यह काम क्यों कर रहे हैं, जो नियम विरुद्ध?”
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was an hungred, he, and they that were with him;
प्रभु येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “क्या आपने यह कभी नहीं पढ़ा कि भूख लगने पर दावीद और उनके साथियों ने क्या किया था?
4 how he entered into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
दावीद ने परमेश्वर के भवन में प्रवेश कर वह समर्पित रोटी खाई, जिसका खाना पुरोहितों के अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य के लिए नियम विरुद्ध था? यही रोटी उन्होंने अपने साथियों को भी दी.”
5 And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
प्रभु येशु ने उनसे कहा, “मनुष्य का पुत्र शब्बाथ का प्रभु है.”
6 And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
एक अन्य शब्बाथ पर प्रभु येशु यहूदी सभागृह में शिक्षा देने लगे. वहां एक व्यक्ति था, जिसका दायां हाथ लक़वा मारा हुआ था.
7 And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.
फ़रीसी और शास्त्री इस अवसर की ताक में थे कि शब्बाथ पर प्रभु येशु इस व्यक्ति को स्वस्थ करें और वह उन पर दोष लगा सकें.
8 But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
प्रभु येशु को उनके मनों में उठ रहे विचारों का पूरा पता था. उन्होंने उस व्यक्ति को, जिसका हाथ सूखा हुआ था, आज्ञा दी, “उठो! यहां सबके मध्य खड़े हो जाओ.” वह उठकर वहां खड़ा हो गया.
9 And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
तब प्रभु येशु ने फ़रीसियों और शास्त्रियों को संबोधित कर प्रश्न किया, “यह बताइए, शब्बाथ पर क्या करना उचित है; भलाई या बुराई? जीवन रक्षा या विनाश?”
10 And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did [so]: and his hand was restored.
उन सब पर एक दृष्टि डालते हुए प्रभु येशु ने उस व्यक्ति को आज्ञा दी, “अपना हाथ बढ़ाओ!” उसने ऐसा ही किया—उसका हाथ स्वस्थ हो गया था.
11 But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
यह देख फ़रीसी और शास्त्री क्रोध से जलने लगे. वे आपस में विचार-विमर्श करने लगे कि प्रभु येशु के साथ अब क्या किया जाए.
12 And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
एक दिन प्रभु येशु पर्वत पर प्रार्थना करने चले गए और सारी रात वह परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करते रहे.
13 And when it was day, he called his disciples: and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles;
प्रातःकाल उन्होंने अपने चेलों को अपने पास बुलाया और उनमें से बारह को चुनकर उन्हें प्रेरित पद प्रदान किया.
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
शिमओन, (जिन्हें वह पेतरॉस नाम से पुकारते थे) उनके भाई आन्द्रेयास, याकोब, योहन, फ़िलिप्पॉस, बारथोलोमेयॉस
15 and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon which was called the Zealot,
मत्तियाह, थोमॉस, हलफ़ेयॉस के पुत्र याकोब, राष्ट्रवादी शिमओन,
16 and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, which was the traitor;
याकोब के पुत्र यहूदाह, तथा कारियोतवासी यहूदाह, जिसने उनके साथ धोखा किया.
17 and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judaea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
प्रभु येशु उनके साथ पर्वत से उतरे और आकर एक समतल स्थल पर खड़े हो गए. येरूशलेम तथा समुद्र के किनारे के नगर सोर और सीदोन से आए लोगों तथा सुननेवालों का एक बड़ा समूह वहां इकट्ठा था,
18 and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
जो उनके प्रवचन सुनने और अपने रोगों से चंगाई के उद्देश्य से वहां आया था. इस समूह में दुष्टात्मा से पीड़ित भी शामिल थे, जिन्हें प्रभु येशु दुष्टात्मा मुक्त करते जा रहे थे.
19 And all the multitude sought to touch him: for power came forth from him, and healed [them] all.
सभी लोग उन्हें छूने का प्रयास कर रहे थे क्योंकि उनसे निकली हुई सामर्थ्य उन सभी को स्वस्थ कर रही थी.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are] ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
अपने शिष्यों की ओर दृष्टि करते हुए प्रभु येशु ने उनसे कहा: “धन्य हो तुम सभी जो निर्धन हो, क्योंकि परमेश्वर का राज्य तुम्हारा है.
21 Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are] ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
धन्य हो तुम जो भूखे हो, क्योंकि तुम तृप्त किए जाओगे. धन्य हो तुम जो इस समय रो रहे हो, क्योंकि तुम आनंदित होगे.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
धन्य हो तुम सभी जिनसे सभी मनुष्य घृणा करते हैं, तुम्हारा बहिष्कार करते हैं, तुम्हारी निंदा करते हैं, तुम्हारे नाम को मनुष्य के पुत्र के कारण बुराई करनेवाला घोषित कर देते हैं.
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap [for joy]: for behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
“उस दिन आनंदित होकर हर्षोल्लास में उछलो-कूदो, क्योंकि स्वर्ग में तुम्हारे लिए बड़ा फल होगा. उनके पूर्वजों ने भी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को इसी प्रकार सताया था.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
“धिक्कार है तुम पर! तुम जो धनी हो, तुम अपने सारे सुख भोग चुके.
25 Woe unto you, ye that are full now! for ye shall hunger. Woe [unto you], ye that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
धिक्कार है तुम पर! तुम जो अब तृप्त हो, क्योंकि तुम्हारे लिए भूखा रहना निर्धारित है. धिक्कार है तुम पर! तुम जो इस समय हंस रहे हो, क्योंकि तुम शोक तथा विलाप करोगे.
26 Woe [unto you], when all men shall speak well of you! for in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets.
धिक्कार है तुम पर! जब सब मनुष्य तुम्हारी प्रशंसा करते हैं क्योंकि उनके पूर्वज झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के साथ यही किया करते थे.”
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,
“किंतु तुम, जो इस समय मेरे प्रवचन सुन रहे हो, अपने शत्रुओं से प्रेम करो तथा उनके साथ भलाई, जो तुमसे घृणा करते हैं.
28 bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
जो तुम्हें शाप देते हैं उनको आशीष दो, और जो तुम्हारे साथ दुर्व्यवहार करें उनके लिए प्रार्थना करो.
29 To him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloke withhold not thy coat also.
यदि कोई तुम्हारे एक गाल पर प्रहार करे उसकी ओर दूसरा भी फेर दो. यदि कोई तुम्हारी चादर लेना चाहे तो उसे अपना कुर्ता भी देने में संकोच न करो.
30 Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
जब भी कोई तुमसे कुछ मांगे तो उसे अवश्य दो और यदि कोई तुम्हारी कोई वस्तु ले ले तो उसे वापस न मांगो
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
अन्यों के साथ तुम्हारा व्यवहार वैसा ही हो जैसे व्यवहार की आशा तुम उनसे करते हो.
32 And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
“यदि तुम उन्हीं से प्रेम करते हो, जो तुमसे प्रेम करते हैं तो इसमें तुम्हारी क्या प्रशंसा? क्योंकि दुर्जन भी तो यही करते हैं.
33 And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
वैसे ही यदि तुम उन्हीं के साथ भलाई करते हो, जिन्होंने तुम्हारे साथ भलाई की है, तो इसमें तुम्हारी क्या प्रशंसा? क्योंकि दुर्जन भी तो यही करते हैं.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
और यदि तुम उन्हीं को कर्ज़ देते हो, जिनसे राशि वापस प्राप्त करने की आशा होती है तो तुमने कौन सा प्रशंसनीय काम कर दिखाया? ऐसा तो परमेश्वर से दूर रहनेवाले लोग भी करते हैं—इस आशा में कि उनकी सारी राशि उन्हें लौटा दी जाएगी.
35 But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
सही तो यह है कि तुम अपने शत्रुओं से प्रेम करो, उनका उपकार करो और कुछ भी वापस प्राप्त करने की आशा किए बिना उन्हें कर्ज़ दे दो. तब तुम्हारा ईनाम असाधारण होगा और तुम परम प्रधान की संतान ठहराए जाओगे क्योंकि वह उनके प्रति भी कृपालु हैं, जो उपकार नहीं मानते और बुरे हैं.
36 Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
कृपालु बनो, ठीक वैसे ही, जैसे तुम्हारे पिता कृपालु हैं.
37 And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
“किसी का न्याय मत करो तो तुम्हारा भी न्याय नहीं किया जाएगा. किसी पर दोष मत लगाओ तो तुम पर भी दोष नहीं लगाया जाएगा. क्षमा करो तो तुम्हें भी क्षमा किया जाएगा.
38 give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
उदारतापूर्वक दो, तो तुम्हें भी दिया जाएगा—पूरा नाप दबा-दबा कर और हिला-हिला कर बाहर निकलता हुआ तुम्हारी झोली में उंडेल (यानी अत्यंत उदारतापूर्वक) देंगे. देने के तुम्हारे नाप के अनुसार ही तुम प्राप्त करोगे.”
39 And he spake also a parable unto them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?
प्रभु येशु ने उन्हें इस दृष्टांत के द्वारा भी शिक्षा दी. “क्या कोई अंधा दूसरे अंधे का मार्गदर्शन कर सकता है? क्या वे दोनों ही गड्ढे में न गिरेंगे?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his master.
विद्यार्थी अपने शिक्षक से बढ़कर नहीं है परंतु हर एक, जिसने शिक्षा पूरी कर ली है, वह अपने शिक्षक के समान होगा.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
“तुम भला अपने भाई की आंख के कण की ओर उंगली क्यों उठाते हो जबकि तुम स्वयं अपनी आंख में पड़े लट्ठे की ओर ध्यान नहीं देते?
42 Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
या तुम भला यह कैसे कह सकते हो ‘ज़रा ठहरो, मैं तुम्हारी आंख से वह कण निकाल देता हूं,’ जबकि तुम्हारी अपनी आंख में तो लट्ठा पड़ा हुआ देख नहीं सकते हो? अरे पाखंडी! पहले तो स्वयं अपनी आंख में से उस लट्ठे को तो निकाल! तभी तू स्पष्ट रूप से देख सकेगा और अपने भाई की आंख में से उस कण को निकाल सकेगा.”
43 For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.
“कोई भी अच्छा पेड़ बुरा फल नहीं लाता और न बुरा पेड़ अच्छा फल.
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
हर एक पेड़ उसके अपने फलों के द्वारा पहचाना जाता है. कंटीले वृक्षों में से लोग अंजीर या कंटीली झाड़ियों में से अंगूर इकट्ठा नहीं किया करते.
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
भला व्यक्ति हृदय में भरे हुए उत्तम भंडार में से उत्तम ही निकालता है तथा बुरा व्यक्ति अपने हृदय में भरे हुए बुरे भंडार में से बुरा; क्योंकि उसका मुख उसके हृदय में भरी हुई वस्तुओं में से ही निकालता है.”
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
“तुम लोग मुझे, प्रभु, प्रभु कहकर क्यों पुकारते हो जबकि मेरी आज्ञाओं का पालन ही नहीं करते?
47 Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
मैं तुम्हें बताऊंगा कि वह व्यक्ति किस प्रकार का है, जो मेरे पास आता है, मेरे संदेश को सुनता तथा उसका पालन करता है:
48 he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
वह उस घर बनानेवाले के जैसा है, जिसने गहरी खुदाई करके चट्टान पर नींव डाली. मूसलाधार बारिश के तेज बहाव ने उस घर पर ठोकरें मारी किंतु उसे हिला न पाया क्योंकि वह घर मजबूत था.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.
वह व्यक्ति, जो मेरे संदेश को सुनता है किंतु उसका पालन नहीं करता, उस व्यक्ति के समान है, जिसने भूमि पर बिना नींव के घर बनाया और जिस क्षण उस पर तेज बहाव ने ठोकरें मारी, वह ढह गया और उसका सर्वनाश हो गया.”
