Luke 6
1 Now it came to pass on a sabbath, that he was going through the cornfields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
2 But certain of the Pharisees said, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day?
Da sagten einige der Pharisäer: "Warum tut ihr, was am Sabbat verboten ist?"
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was an hungred, he, and they that were with him;
Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Habt ihr denn nicht gelesen, was David tat, als er und seine Begleiter Hunger hatten;
4 how he entered into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
wie er das Haus Gottes betrat, die Schaubrote nahm und aß, die nur die Priester essen dürfen, und auch noch seinen Begleitern gab?"
5 And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
Und weiter sprach er zu ihnen: "Der Menschensohn ist Herr des Sabbats."
6 And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
An einem anderen Sabbat ging er in die Synagoge, wo er lehrte. Dort war ein Mensch, dessen rechte Hand verwelkt war.
7 And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.
Die Schriftgelehrten und die Pharisäer gaben acht, ob er am Sabbat heile, um einen Grund zur Klage gegen ihn zu finden.
8 But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
Jedoch er wußte, was sie dachten, und sagte zu dem Manne mit der verwelkten Hand: "Steh auf und stell dich in die Mitte!" Da stand er auf und stellte sich dahin.
9 And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
Dann sprach Jesus zu ihnen: "Ich frage euch: Darf man am Sabbat Gutes oder Böses tun, ein Leben retten oder es vernichten?"
10 And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did [so]: and his hand was restored.
Er schaute alle, einen nach dem andern, an und sprach darauf zu ihm: "Strecke deine Hand aus." Er tat es, und seine Hand ward wiederhergestellt.
11 But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
Sie wurden ganz rasend und berieten miteinander, was sie Jesus antun könnten.
12 And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
In jenen Tagen ging er fort auf einen Berg, um dort zu beten. Die ganze Nacht verbrachte er im Gebet mit Gott.
13 And when it was day, he called his disciples: and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles;
Nachdem es Tag geworden war, rief er seine Jünger zu sich her und wählte zwölf aus ihnen aus, die er Apostel nannte:
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
Simon, dem er den Namen Petrus gab, und Andreas, dessen Bruder, Jakobus, Johannes, Philippus, Bartholomäus,
15 and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon which was called the Zealot,
Matthäus, Thomas und Jakobus, des Alphäus Sohn, Simon, der auch der Eiferer heißt,
16 and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, which was the traitor;
und Judas, des Jakobs Bruder, und den Judas Iskariot; dieser wurde sein Verräter.
17 and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judaea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
Er stieg mit ihnen hinab und blieb auf einem ebenen Platze stehen samt einer großen Schar von seinen Jüngern. Und eine gewaltige Menge Volkes war herbeigeeilt aus ganz Judäa und Jerusalem, auch aus dem Küstenland von Tyrus und von Sidon.
18 and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
Sie kamen, um ihn zu hören und um von ihren Krankheiten geheilt zu werden; auch die von unreinen Geistern Heimgesuchten wurden geheilt.
19 And all the multitude sought to touch him: for power came forth from him, and healed [them] all.
Und alles Volk versuchte, ihn zu berühren; denn eine Kraft ging von ihm aus und heilte alle.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are] ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Dann blickte er seine Jünger an und sprach: "Selig, ihr Armen, denn euer ist das Reich Gottes.
21 Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are] ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Selig, die ihr jetzt hungert; denn ihr werdet gesättigt werden. Selig, die ihr jetzt weinet; ihr werdet lachen.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
Selig seid ihr, wenn euch die Menschen hassen und verstoßen und schmähen und den guten Namen rauben um des Menschensohnes willen.
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap [for joy]: for behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Freut euch an jenem Tag und frohlockt; denn seht, euer Lohn ist groß im Himmel. Ihre Väter haben es ja den Propheten ebenso gemacht. -
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
Doch wehe euch, ihr Reichen; ihr habt schon euren Trost.
25 Woe unto you, ye that are full now! for ye shall hunger. Woe [unto you], ye that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
Weh euch, die ihr jetzt satt seid; ihr werdet hungern. Weh euch, die ihr jetzt lachet; ihr werdet trauern und weinen.
26 Woe [unto you], when all men shall speak well of you! for in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets.
Wehe, wenn euch alle Menschen loben. Ihre Väter haben es den falschen Propheten ebenso gemacht.
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,
Doch euch, die ihr zuhört, sage ich: Liebet eure Feinde, tut Gutes denen, die euch hassen,
28 bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
segnet die, die euch verfluchen, betet für die, die euch mißhandeln.
29 To him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloke withhold not thy coat also.
Schlägt dich jemand auf die eine Wange, so halte ihm auch die andere hin. Nimmt einer dir den Mantel weg, alsdann versage ihm auch den Rock nicht.
30 Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Dem, der dich bittet, gib; wer dir das Deine nimmt, von diesem fordere es nicht zurück.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Was ihr von anderen erwartet, das sollt auch ihr ihnen ebenso tun.
32 And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
Wolltet ihr nur jene lieben, die euch lieben, welchen Verdienst habt ihr davon? Auch die Sünder lieben die, von denen sie geliebt werden.
33 And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
Wenn ihr nur denen Gutes tut, die euch Gutes erweisen, welchen Verdienst habt ihr davon? Dasselbe tun ja auch die Sünder.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
Wenn ihr nur denen leiht, von denen ihr es wieder zu bekommen hofft, welchen Verdienst habt ihr davon? Auch Sünder leihen ja einander, um den gleichen Betrag dafür zu erhalten.
35 But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
Liebt vielmehr eure Feinde, tut Gutes, leihet, ohne etwas zurückzuerwarten. Alsdann wird euer Lohn groß sein, ihr werdet Söhne des Allerhöchsten sein, der selber gütig ist gegen Undankbare und gegen Böse.
36 Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
So seid also barmherzig, wie euer Vater auch barmherzig ist.
37 And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
Richtet nicht, dann werdet ihr nicht gerichtet werden; verdammt nicht, dann werdet ihr nicht verdammt werden; vergebt, und es wird euch vergeben werden;
38 give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
gebt, und es wird euch gegeben werden. Ein gutes, ein gedrücktes und gerütteltes, ein überfließendes Maß wird man euch in den Schoß schütten. Denn mit dem Maß, mit dem ihr messet, wird euch zugemessen werden."
39 And he spake also a parable unto them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?
Dann trug er ihnen ein Gleichnis vor: "Kann ein Blinder einen Blinden führen? Werden nicht beide in eine Grube fallen?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his master.
Der Schüler steht nicht über seinem Lehrer; jeder, der ausgelernt hat, ist wie sein Lehrer.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Was siehst du zwar den Splitter im Auge deines Bruders, doch den Balken in deinem eignen Auge siehst du nicht?
42 Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
Oder wie magst du zu deinem Bruder sprechen: 'Bruder, laß mich den Splitter dir aus dem Auge ziehen', du, der du den Balken in deinem eigenen Auge nicht siehst? Du Heuchler! Zieh zuerst den Balken aus deinem Auge, und dann magst du sehen, wie du den Splitter aus dem Auge deines Bruders ziehst.
43 For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.
Kein guter Baum trägt schlechte Frucht, und ebenso: Kein schlechter Baum trägt gute Frucht.
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
Jeden Baum erkennt man an seiner Frucht; denn von den Disteln pflückt man keine Feigen, und von dem Dornbusch liest man keine Trauben.
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Der gute Mensch bringt aus dem guten Schatze seines Herzens Gutes hervor; der Böse aber bringt aus bösem Schatze Böses hervor; denn aus des Herzens Überfülle redet der Mund.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Warum nennt ihr mich: 'Herr, Herr' und tut doch nicht, was ich sage?
47 Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Ich will euch zeigen, wem der gleicht, der zu mir kommt und meine Worte hört und nach ihnen handelt:
48 he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
Er gleicht einem Manne, der ein Haus gebaut hat; er grub tief und setzte das Grundgemäuer auf den Felsen. Als nun Hochwasser kam, da prallte die Flut an das Haus, vermochte es aber nicht zu erschüttern, weil es gut gebaut war.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.
Wer aber meine Worte nur hört und nicht nach ihnen handelt, ist einem Manne gleich, der sein Haus ohne Grundgemäuer nur auf den Boden hingebaut hat. Die Flut prallte daran, und es fiel sogleich ein, und dieses Haus stürzte ganz zusammen."
