Judges 17
1 And there was a man of the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
Había un hombre de la región montañosa de Efraín, cuyo nombre era Miqueas.
2 And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred [pieces] of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou didst utter a curse, and didst also speak it in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son of the LORD.
Este dijo a su madre: “Las mil cien piezas de plata que te fueron quitadas, sobre las cuales pronunciaste una maldición, y también lo dijiste a mis oídos: mira, la plata está conmigo. Yo la tomé”. Su madre dijo: “¡Que Yahvé bendiga a mi hijo!”
3 And he restored the eleven hundred [pieces] of silver to his mother, and his mother said, I verily dedicate the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.
Le devolvió las mil cien piezas de plata a su madre, y ésta le dijo: “Ciertamente dedico la plata a Yahvé de mi mano para mi hijo, para hacer una imagen tallada y una imagen fundida. Ahora, pues, te la devolveré”.
4 And when he restored the money unto his mother, his mother took two hundred [pieces] of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and it was in the house of Micah.
Cuando devolvió el dinero a su madre, ésta tomó doscientas piezas de plata y se las dio a un platero, que hizo con ellas una imagen tallada y una imagen fundida. Estaba en la casa de Miqueas.
5 And the man Micah had an house of gods, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
El hombre Miqueas tenía una casa de dioses, y se hizo un efod y unos terafines, y consagró a uno de sus hijos, que fue su sacerdote.
6 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
En aquellos días no había rey en Israel. Cada uno hacía lo que le parecía correcto.
7 And there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
Había un joven de Belén de Judá, de la familia de Judá, que era levita, y vivía allí.
8 And the man departed out of the city, out of Beth-lehem-judah, to sojourn where he could find [a place]: and he came to the hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
El hombre salió de la ciudad, de Belén de Judá, para vivir donde pudiera encontrar un lugar, y llegó a la región montañosa de Efraín, a la casa de Miqueas, mientras viajaba.
9 And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].
Miqueas le dijo: “¿De dónde vienes?” Le dijo: “Soy un levita de Belén de Judá y busco un lugar para vivir”.
10 And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten [pieces] of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
Miqueas le dijo: “Vive conmigo, y sé para mí un padre y un sacerdote, y te daré diez piezas de plata al año, un traje y tu comida”. Así que el levita entró.
11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
El levita se contentó con vivir con el hombre, y el joven era para él como uno de sus hijos.
12 And Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
Miqueas consagró al levita, y el joven llegó a ser su sacerdote, y estuvo en la casa de Miqueas.
13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
Entonces Miqueas dijo: “Ahora sé que Yahvé me hará bien, ya que tengo un levita como sacerdote.”
