Joshua 17
1 And [this] was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph. As for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
マナセの支派が籤によりて獲たる地は左のごとしマナセはヨセフの長子なりきマナセの長子にしてギレアデの父なるマキルは軍人なるが故にギレアデとバシヤンを獲たり
2 And [the lot] was for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.
此餘のマナセの子等即ちアビエゼルの子孫ヘレクの子孫アスリエルの子孫シケムの子孫へペルの子孫セミダの子孫などもその宗族にしたがひて獲る所ありき是等はヨセフの子マナセが男の子にしてその宗族に循ひて言るなり
3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
マナセの子マキルその子ギレアデその子へペルその子なるゼロペハデといふ者は女の子のみありて男の子あらざりきその女の子の名はマヘラ、ノア、ホグラ、ミルカ、テルザといふ
4 And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren: therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
彼等祭司エレアザル、ヌンの子ヨシユアおよび長等の前に進み出て言けらく我らの兄弟の中にて我らにも產業を與へよとヱホバ、モーセに命じおきたまへりヨシユアすなはちヱホバの命にしたがひて彼らの父の兄弟の中にて彼らにも產業を與ふ
5 And there fell ten parts to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond Jordan;
マナセはヨルダンの彼旁にてギレアデおよびバシヤンの地の外になほ十部の地を獲たり
6 because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the land of Gilead belonged unto the rest of the sons of Manasseh.
是はマナセの女の子等もその男の子等の中にて產業を獲たればなりギレアデの地はマナセのその餘の子等に屬す
7 And the border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem; and the border went along to the right hand, unto the inhabitants of En-tappuah.
マナセの境界はアセルよりシケムの前なるミクメタテに及び右におもむきてエンタツプアの民に達す
8 The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.
タツプアの地はマナセに屬す但しマナセの境界にあるタツプアはエフライムの子孫に屬す
9 And the border went down unto the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook: these cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh: and the border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook, and the goings out thereof were at the sea:
またその境界カナの河に下りてその河の南に至る是等の邑はマナセの邑々の中にありてエフライムに屬すマナセの境界はその河の北にあり海にいたりて盡く
10 southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea was his border; and they reached to Asher on the north, and to Issachar on the east.
その南の方はエフライムに屬し北の方はマナセに屬し海これらの境界を成すマナセは北はアセルに達し東はイツサカルに達す
11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of En-dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even the three heights.
イツサカルおよびアセルの中にてマナセはベテシヤンとその郷里イブレアムとその郷里ドルの民とその郷里およびエンドルの民とその郷里タアナクの民とその郷里メギドンの民とその郷里など合せて三の高處を有り
12 Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out [the inhabitants] of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
但しマナセの子孫は是らの邑の民を逐はらふことを得ざりければカナン人この地に固く住ひをりしが
13 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to taskwork, and did not utterly drive them out.
イスラエルの子孫強くなるに及びてカナン人を使役し之を盡く逐ことはせざりき
14 And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one part for an inheritance, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as hitherto the LORD hath blessed me?
茲にヨセフの子孫ヨシユアに語りて言けるはヱホバ今まで我を祝福たまひて我は大なる民となりけるに汝わが產業にとて只一の籤一の分のみを我に與へしは何ぞや
15 And Joshua said unto them, If thou be a great people, get thee up to the forest, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim; since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for thee.
ヨシユアかれらに言けるは汝もし大なる民となりしならば林に上りゆきて彼處なるペリジ人およびレバイム人の地を自ら斬ひらくべしエフライムの山地は汝には狭しと言ばなり
16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill country is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are in Beth-shean and her towns, and they who are in the valley of Jezreel.
ヨセフの子孫言けるは山地は我らには足ずかつ又谷の地にをるカナン人はベテシヤンとその郷里にをる者もヱズレルの谷にをる者も凡て鐵の戰車を有り
17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
ヨシユアかさねてヨセフの家すなはちエフライムとマナセに語りて言ふ汝は大なる民にして大なる力あり然れば只一籤のみを取てをる可らず
18 but the hill country shall be thine; for though it is a forest, thou shalt cut it down, and the goings out thereof shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they be strong.
山地をも汝の有とすべし是は林なれども汝これを斬ひらきてその極處を獲べしカナン人は鐵の戰車を有をりかつ強くあれども汝これを逐はらふことを得ん
