< John 2 >

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
Guyyaa sadaffaatti Qaanaa Galiilaa keessa cidha gaaʼelaatu ture. Haati Yesuusiis achi turte;
2 and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage.
Yesuusii fi barattoonni isaa gara cidha sanaatti waamamanii turan.
3 And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Yommuu Daadhiin wayinii dhumetti haati Yesuus, “Jarri daadhii wayinii hin qaban” isaan jette.
4 And Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
Yesuus immoo deebisee, “Dubartii nana! Maal godhi naan jetta? Yeroon koo amma illee hin geenye” jedheen.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Haati isaas tajaajiltootaan, “Waanuma inni isinitti himu hunda godhaa” jette.
6 Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews’ manner of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Gaaniiwwan dhagaa jaʼa sirna qulqulleessuu Yihuudootaatiif achi dhaabamanii turan; tokkoon tokkoon isaaniis gara liitiroo 75 hamma 115 qabata ture.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Yesuus tajaajiltootaan, “Gaaniiwwanitti bishaan guutaa” jedhe; isaanis hamma afaan gaaniiwwaniitti guutan.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast. And they bare it.
Innis, “Egaa budduuqsaatii abbaa cidhaatti kennaa” jedheen. Isaanis akkasuma godhan;
9 And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and knew not whence it was (but the servants which had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast calleth the bridegroom,
abbaan cidhaas bishaan gara daadhii wayiniitti geeddarame sana afaaniin qabee ilaale. Daadhiin wayinii sun eessaa akka dhufe tajaajiltoota bishaan waraabanitu beeka malee abbaan cidhaa sun hin beeku ture. Innis misirricha waamee
10 and saith unto him, Every man setteth on first the good wine; and when [men] have drunk freely, [then] that which is worse: thou hast kept the good wine until now.
akkana jedheen; “Namni hundi daadhii wayinii isa gaarii jalqabatti dhiʼeessee, erga keessumoonni machaaʼanii booddee immoo daadhii isa laafaa dhiʼeessa; ati garuu daadhii gaarii hamma ammaatti tursite.”
11 This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Yesuus mallattoowwan isaa keessaa isa jalqabaa kana Qaanaa Galiilaa keessatti hojjete. Ulfina isaas ni mulʼise; barattoonni isaas isatti amanan.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and [his] brethren, and his disciples: and there they abode not many days.
Kana booddees inni haadha isaa, obboloota isaatii fi barattoota isaa wajjin Qifirnaahomitti gad buʼe. Isaanis guyyoota muraasa achi turan.
13 And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Yesuusis waan Faasiikaan Yihuudootaa dhiʼaateef Yerusaalemitti ol baʼe.
14 And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
Mana qulqullummaa keessattis warra loon, hoolotaa fi gugee gurguratanii fi warra taaʼanii maallaqa geeddaran arge.
15 and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables;
Innis quncee irraa qaccee dhaʼatee nama hundumaa hoolotaa fi loon wajjin mana qulqullummaa keessaa ariʼe; saantima warra maallaqa geeddaraniis bittinneesse; minjaala isaaniis garagalche.
16 and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise.
Warra gugee gurguraniinis, “Kana hunda asii baasaa! Mana Abbaa koo mana daldalaa hin godhinaa!” jedhe.
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house shall eat me up.
Barattoonni isaas, “Hinaaffaan mana keetii na gugguba” jedhamee akka barreeffame yaadatan.
18 The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
Yihuudoonnis deebisanii, “Kana hunda hojjechuuf akka taayitaa qabdu mirkaneessuuf mallattoo maalii nutti argisiisuu dandeessa?” jedhanii isa gaafatan.
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Yesuus, “Mana qulqullummaa kana jigsaa; ani immoo guyyaa sadiitti olin dhaabaa” jedhee deebiseef.
20 The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
Yihuudoonnis deebisanii, “Mana qulqullummaa kana ijaaruun waggaa afurtamii jaʼa fudhate; ati immoo guyyaa sadii keessatti ol dhaabdaa?” jedhaniin.
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
Manni qulqullummaa kan inni waaʼee isaa dubbate sun garuu dhagna isaa ti.
22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Erga inni duʼaa kaʼee booddee barattoonni isaa waan inni dubbatee ture sana yaadatan. Isaanis Katabbii Qulqulluu fi dubbii Yesuus dubbate amanan.
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he did.
Yeroo inni Ayyaana Faasiikaatiif jedhee Yerusaalem turetti namoonni baayʼeen mallattoo inni hojjete arganii maqaa isaatti amanan.
24 But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,
Yesuus garuu waan nama hunda beekuuf, amanee isaanitti of hin dhiifne.
25 and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
Akka namni tokko iyyuu waaʼee namaa isaaf dhugaa baʼu isa hin barbaachifne; inni waan nama keessa jiru beeka tureetii.
