Job 9
1 Then Job answered and said,
Y Job respondió y dijo:
2 Of a truth I know that it is so: but how can man be just with God?
Verdaderamente, veo que es así: ¿y cómo es posible que un hombre pueda ser justo delante de Dios?
3 If he be pleased to contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
Si un hombre deseara ir a la ley con él, no podría darle una respuesta a una de cada mil preguntas.
4 [He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and prospered?
Él es sabio de corazón y grande en fuerza: ¿quién alguna vez endureció su rostro contra él, y le fue bien?
5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know it not, when he overturneth them in his anger.
Es el que quita las montañas sin su conocimiento, derribándolas en su ira.
6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
Que está estremeciendo la tierra de su lugar, de modo que sus bases tiemblan:
7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
Que da órdenes al sol, y no da su luz; y quien guarda las estrellas de brillar.
8 Which alone stretcheth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
Por cuya mano se extendieron los cielos, y quién camina sobre las olas del mar:
9 Which maketh the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
Que hizo el Oso y Orión, y el cúmulo de estrellas, y los lugares secretos del sur;
10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, marvelous things without number.
¿Quién hace grandes cosas incomprensibles? Sí, maravillas sin número.
11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
Mira, pasa a mi lado y no lo veo; sigue adelante, pero no tengo conocimiento de él.
12 Behold, he seizeth [the prey], who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
Si él extiende su mano para tomar, ¿por quién puede ser devuelta? ¿Quién le puede decir: ¿Qué estás haciendo?
13 God will not withdraw his anger; the helpers of Rahab do stoop under him.
La ira de Dios no puede volverse atrás; Los ayudantes de Rahab, monstruo marino, se humillaron debajo de él.
14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words [to reason] with him?
¿Cuánto menos puedo darle una respuesta, usando las palabras correctas para discutir con él?
15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer; I would make supplication to mine adversary.
Aunque mi causa fuera buena, no podría dar una respuesta; Pediría la gracia de aquel quién es mi Juez.
16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he hearkened unto my voice.
Si lo hubiera llamado, y él me respondiera, no tendría fe en que escucharía mi voz.
17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
Porque su tormenta me quebranta, y mis heridas aumentan sin causa.
18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
No me dejaría respirar, pero estaría lleno de amargo dolor.
19 If [we speak] of the strength of the mighty, lo, [he is there]! and if of judgment, who will appoint me a time?
Si es una cuestión de fuerza, él es poderoso y si se trata de una causa legal, él dice: ¿Quién me dará un día fijo?
20 Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me: though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.
Aunque estaba en lo correcto, mi boca me condenaría; No he hecho mal; pero esto me hace inicuo.
21 I am perfect; I regard not myself; I despise my life.
Si fuera perfecto; No conocería mi alma; despreciaría mi vida.
22 It is all one; therefore I say, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
Es lo mismo para mí; por eso digo: Él pone fin al pecador y al que no ha hecho nada malo juntos.
23 If the scourge slay suddenly, he will mock at the trial of the innocent.
Si la muerte viene repentinamente, él se ríe de las pruebas de aquellos que no han hecho nada malo.
24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if [it be] not [he], who then is it?
La tierra es dada al poder del malvado; los rostros de sus jueces están cubiertos; Si no es por él, ¿quién lo ha hecho?
25 Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.
Mis días van más rápido que un corredor; huyen y no ven él bien.
26 They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that swoopeth on the prey.
Se apresuran como botes veloces, como un águila que cae repentinamente sobre su comida.
27 If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will put off my [sad] countenance, and be of good cheer:
Si digo, olvidaré mi dolor, dejaré que mi rostro ya no esté triste y me alegraré;
28 I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
Temeroso soy de todos mis dolores; Estoy seguro de que no seré libre del pecado en tus ojos.
29 I shall be condemned; why then do I labour in vain?
¡No me dejarás estar libre de pecado! ¿Por qué entonces me tomo la molestia de esforzarme?
30 If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;
Si me lavan con agua de la nieve, y me limpio las manos con jabón;
31 Yet wilt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.
Entonces cuando me empujen al sepulcro, mi propia ropa me aborrecerá.
32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment.
Porque él no es un hombre como yo, para decirle que, podamos unirnos ante un juez.
33 There is no daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
No hay nadie que tome una decisión entre nosotros, que podría tener control sobre nosotros.
34 Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his terror make me afraid:
Que quite de mi su vara y su temor no me espante.
35 Then would I speak, and not fear him; for I am not so in myself.
Entonces diría lo que tengo en mente sin temor de él; porque no hay causa de miedo en mí.
