Job 36
1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,
Entonces Eliú continuó:
2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee: for I have yet somewhat to say on God’s behalf.
Espérame un poco y te diré más, porque aún queda algo por decir en defensa de ʼEloha.
3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
Desde lejos traeré mi saber y atribuiré justicia a mi Hacedor,
4 For truly my words are not false: one that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
porque en verdad mis palabras no son falsas. Contigo está Uno que es perfecto en conocimiento.
5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength of understanding.
Ciertamente ʼEL es poderoso, pero no desprecia a nadie. Es poderoso en la fuerza del entendimiento.
6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth to the afflicted [their] right.
No otorga vida al perverso, pero hace justicia a los afligidos.
7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings upon the throne he setteth them for ever, and they are exalted.
No aparta sus ojos de los justos. Los hace sentar con reyes en el trono para siempre, y serán exaltados.
8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be taken in the cords of affliction;
Si están presos con grilletes y atrapados con cuerdas de aflicción,
9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.
los reprende por su obra y por sus transgresiones, porque se exaltaron a sí mismos.
10 He openeth also their ear to instruction, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
Les abre el oído a la corrección y los exhorta a devolverse de la iniquidad.
11 If they hearken and serve [him], they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Si escuchan y se someten, acaban sus días en prosperidad, y sus años en deleites.
12 But if they hearken not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
Pero si no escuchan, perecen a filo de espada o por su ignorancia.
13 But they that are godless in heart lay up anger: they cry not for help when he bindeth them.
Los impíos de corazón atesoran ira, no claman cuando Él los ata y
14 They die in youth, and their life [perisheth] among the unclean.
mueren en la juventud. Sus vidas terminan entre los sodomitas con rituales paganos.
15 He delivereth the afflicted by his affliction, and openeth their ear in oppression.
Él libra a los afligidos en su aflicción. Abre sus oídos en la opresión.
16 Yea, he would have led thee away out of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which is set on thy table should be full of fatness.
También te sacará de las garras de la angustia a un lugar espacioso y abierto, para servirte una mesa llena de sustancia.
17 But thou art full of the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
Pero si tú estás lleno del juicio que merece el perverso, el juicio y la justicia se apoderan de ti.
18 Because there is wrath, beware lest thou be led away by [thy] sufficiency; neither let the greatness of the ransom turn thee aside.
Por lo cual, teme, no sea que en su ira te quite de un golpe, del cual no te pueda librar ni un gran rescate.
19 Will thy riches suffice, [that thou be] not in distress, or all the forces of [thy] strength?
¿Será suficiente tu clamor para librarte de la angustia o todas las fuerzas de tu poder?
20 Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off in their place.
No anheles la noche en la cual los pueblos desaparecerán de su lugar.
21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
Cuídate de no volver a la iniquidad, porque escogiste ésta en vez de la aflicción.
22 Behold, God doeth loftily in his power: who is a teacher like unto him?
Ciertamente ʼEL es exaltado en su poder: ¿Quién es un Maestro como Él?
23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
¿Quién le señala el camino? ¿Quién le dirá jamás: Cometiste injusticia?
24 Remember that thou magnify his work, whereof men have sung.
Acuérdate de engrandecer su obra, de la cual los hombres cantan.
25 All men have looked thereon; man beholdeth it afar off.
Todos los hombres la contemplan. Los humanos la miran desde lejos.
26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable.
Mira, ʼEL es exaltado, y nosotros no lo conocemos. El número de sus años es inescrutable.
27 For he draweth up the drops of water, which distil in rain from his vapour:
Él atrae las gotas de agua, y a la lluvia convierte en vapor
28 Which the skies pour down and drop upon man abundantly.
que destilan las nubes, y vierten en abundancia sobre los hombres.
29 Yea, can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?
¿Quién entenderá el despliegue de las nubes y el estruendo de la bóveda celeste?
30 Behold, he spreadeth his light around him; and he covereth the bottom of the sea.
Ciertamente, despliega su rayo en ella y cubre las profundidades del mar.
31 For by these he judgeth the peoples; he giveth meat in abundance.
Con tales cosas gobierna a los pueblos y da alimento en abundancia.
32 He covereth his hands with the lightning; and giveth it a charge that it strike the mark.
Cubre con sus manos el rayo y lo lanza certero hacia su blanco.
33 The noise thereof telleth concerning him, the cattle also concerning [the storm] that cometh up.
El trueno anuncia su presencia, el ganado también, con respecto a la tormenta que se levanta.
