Job 27
1 And Job again took up his parable, and said,
Darauf fuhr Job im Vortrag seiner Rede fort:
2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my right; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
"Bei Gott, der mir mein Recht genommen, bei dem Allmächtigen, der mich verzweifeln läßt!
3 (For my life is yet whole in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils; )
Solange noch ein Atem in mir bleibt und Gotteshauch in meiner Nase,
4 Surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness, neither shall my tongue utter deceit.
solange kommt nichts Falsches her von meinen Lippen, und meine Zunge dichtet keinen Trug.
5 God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not put away mine integrity from me.
Von mir sei's fern, euch Recht zu geben, bis zum Tode fern, auf meine Unschuld zu verzichten!
6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach [me] so long as I live.
Ich halte fest an meiner Rechtlichkeit und lasse sie nicht fahren. Ob keinem meiner Tage tadelt mich mein Herz.
7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and let him that riseth up against me be as the unrighteous.
Mein Feind der soll als Schuldiger erscheinen, mein Widersacher als der Ungerechte! -
8 For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain, when God taketh away his soul?
Welche Hoffnung hat der Frevler, wird er hinweggerafft, wenn seine Seele Gott verlangt?
9 Will God hear his cry, when trouble cometh upon him?
Wird Gott denn sein Geschrei erhören, wenn Not ihn überfällt?
10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty, and call upon God at all times?
Kann er vor dem Allmächtigen sich wie ein verwöhntes Kind benehmen, daß er zu jeder Zeit Gott rufen dürfte?
11 I will teach you concerning the hand of God; that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Ich will euch über Gottes Hand belehren, euch nicht verhehlend, was beim Allmächtigen beschlossen ist.
12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye become altogether vain?
Ihr alle habt es selbst gesehen. Was wollt ihr euch so eitlem Wahn ergeben?
13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty.
Das ist der bösen Menschen Los bei Gott, dies der Tyrannen Erbe, das sie von dem Allmächtigen erhalten:
14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword; and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
Hat er viele Kinder, ist's für das Schwert, und seine Sprößlinge bekommen nimmer Brot genug.
15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death, and his widows shall make no lamentation.
Wer von den Seinen übrigbleibt, wird durch die Pest begraben, und seine Witwen halten nicht die Totenklage.
16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
Wenn Silber er wie Sand aufhäuft und Kleider sich zurücklegt gleich wie Lehm,
17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
er legt sie freilich sich zurück; doch der Gerechte kleidet sich damit; das Silber nimmt der Fromme fort.
18 He buildeth his house as the moth, and as a booth which the keeper maketh.
Sein Haus baut er dem leeren Vogelneste gleich, wie eine Hütte, die ein Hüter macht.
19 He lieth down rich, but he shall not be gathered; he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
Er legt als reicher Mann sich hin und hat noch nicht die Füße eingezogen; er blinzelt mit den Augen noch, da ist er schon nicht mehr.
20 Terrors overtake him like waters; a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Gleich Wassern überraschen ihn die Schreckgestalten; des Nachts nimmt ihn der Sturmwind fort.
21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth; and it sweepeth him out of his place.
Der Ostwind hebt ihn auf; er fährt dahin, und jener wirbelt ihn von seiner Stätte fort.
22 For [God] shall hurl at him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
Er schießt auf ihn erbarmungslos; von seiner Hand wird er durchbohrt.
23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
Und seine Wohnstatt klatscht in ihre Hände über ihn und zischt ihn aus."
