Job 20
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
੧ਤਦ ਸੋਫ਼ਰ ਨਅਮਾਤੀ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 Therefore do my thoughts give answer to me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.
੨“ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
3 I have heard the reproof which putteth me to shame, and the spirit of my understanding answereth me.
੩ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਝਿੜਕੀ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਝ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
4 Knowest thou [not] this of old time, since man was placed upon earth,
੪“ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਜਦ ਤੋਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ,
5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?
੫ਕਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੈਕਾਰਾ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਚਿਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਇੱਕ ਪਲ ਦਾ ਹੈ?
6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
੬ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਚਿਆਈ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਲੱਗੇ,
7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
੭ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਧੂੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ?
8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
੮ਉਹ ਸੁਫ਼ਨੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਨਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
9 The eye which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
੯ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਪਤਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ,
10 His children shall seek the favour of the poor, and his hands shall give back his wealth.
੧੦ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਦਦ ਮੰਗਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ-ਧਨ ਮੋੜਨਗੇ।
11 His bones are full of his youth, but it shall lie down with him in the dust.
੧੧ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
੧੨“ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾਵੇ,
13 Though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth;
੧੩ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਰੱਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਡੇ ਨਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਘ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਬਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੇ,
14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
੧੪ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਲਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
੧੫ਉਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਲ ਤਾਂ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਉਗਲੇਗਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
੧੬ਉਹ ਨਾਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ ਚੂਸੇਗਾ, ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਡੰਗ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇਗਾ!
17 He shall not look upon the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.
੧੭ਉਹ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਅਤੇ ਦਹੀਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਗਦੀਆਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ।
18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down; according to the substance that he hath gotten, he shall not rejoice.
੧੮ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਮਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਗਲੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੈਣ-ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਲਾਭ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਮਨਾਏਗਾ,
19 For he hath oppressed and forsaken the poor; he hath violently taken away an house, and he shall not build it up.
੧੯ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸਾਰੇ।
20 Because he knew no quietness within him, he shall not save aught of that wherein he delighteth.
੨੦“ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾ ਜਾਣੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮਨ ਭਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾ ਬਚਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ।
21 There was nothing left that he devoured not; therefore his prosperity shall not endure.
੨੧ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਿਗਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਨਾ ਬਚੀ, ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਬਣੀ ਨਾ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: the hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.
੨੨ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤਾਇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਤਦ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁਖਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
23 When he is about to fill his belly, [God] shall cast the fierceness of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
੨੩ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੇਟ ਭਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਹਿਰ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਘੱਲੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of brass shall strike him through.
੨੪ਉਹ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਭੱਜੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦਾ ਧਣੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਸੁੱਟੇਗਾ,
25 He draweth it forth, and it cometh out of his body: yea, the glittering point cometh out of his gall; terrors are upon him.
੨੫ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਖਿੱਚਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਨੋਕ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਤੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਭੈਅ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
26 All darkness is laid up for his treasures: a fire not blown [by man] shall devour him; it shall consume that which is left in his tent.
੨੬ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਛਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਣਸੁਲਗੀ ਅੱਗ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਭਸਮ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਕੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਭਸਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ!
27 The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, and the earth shall rise up against him.
੨੭ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
28 The increase of his house shall depart, [his goods] shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
੨੮ਉਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਰੁੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਵਗ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ,
29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
੨੯ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਹੈ!”
