Job 16
1 Then Job answered and said,
১তারপর ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন এবং বললেন,
2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.
২“আমি এরকম অনেক শুনেছি; তোমরা সবাই দুঃখদায়ক সান্ত্বনাকারী।
3 Shall vain words have an end? or what provoketh thee that thou answerest?
৩অর্থহীন কথার কি কোন শেষ আছে? তোমাদের কি হয়েছে যে তোমরা এরকম উত্তর দিচ্ছ?
4 I also could speak as ye do; if your soul were in my soul’s stead, I could join words together against you, and shake mine head at you.
৪আমিও তোমাদের মত কথা বলতে পারি যেমন তোমরা কর; যদি তোমাদের প্রাণ আমার প্রাণের জায়গায় থাকত, তাহলে আমি তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে কথা সংগ্রহ করতে এবং জুড়তে পারতাম এবং উপহাস করে তোমাদের কাছে আমার মাথা নাড়তাম।
5 [But] I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the solace of my lips should assuage [your grief].
৫আহা, আমি আমার মুখের কোথায় কেমন করে তোমাদের উত্সাহিত করব! আমার মুখের সান্ত্বনা কিভাবে তোমাদের দুঃখ হালকা করবে!
6 Though I speak, my grief is not assuaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?
৬যদি আমি কথা বলি, আমার কষ্ট কমবে না; যদি আমি কথা বলা বন্ধ রাখি, আমার কি উপকার হয়?
7 But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
৭কিন্তু এখন, ঈশ্বর, তুমি আমায় ক্লান্ত করেছ; তুমি আমার সমস্ত পরিবারকে ধ্বংস করেছ।
8 And thou hast laid fast hold on me, [which] is a witness [against me]: and my leanness riseth up against me, it testifieth to my face.
৮তুমি আমায় বেঁধেছ, যা নিজেই আমার বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছে; আমার শরীরের দুর্বলতা আমার বিরুদ্ধে উঠেছে এবং এটা আমার মুখের বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছে।
9 He hath torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me; he hath gnashed upon me with his teeth: mine adversary sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
৯ঈশ্বর তাঁর ক্রোধে আমায় ছিন্ন ভিন্ন করেছেন এবং আমাকে নির্যাতন করেছেন; তিনি আমার বিরুদ্ধে দাঁত ঘর্ষণ করেছেন; আমার শত্রু তার তীক্ষ্ন চোখ আমার ওপর রেখেছে যেন সে আমায় ছিঁড়ে ফেলবে।
10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully: they gather themselves together against me.
১০লোকেরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে মুখ খুলে হ্যাঁ করে; তারা আমার গালে থাপ্পড় মেরেছে নিন্দাপূর্ণ ভাবে; তারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে একসঙ্গে জোড় হয়েছে।
11 God delivereth me to the ungodly, and casteth me into the hands of the wicked.
১১ঈশ্বর আমায় অধার্মিকদের হাতে দেন এবং পাপীদের হাতে আমায় ফেলে দেন।
12 I was at ease, and he brake me asunder; yea, he hath taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces: he hath also set me up for his mark.
১২আমি শান্তিতে ছিলাম এবং তিনি আমায় ভেঙে ফেললেন। সত্যি, তিনি আমায় ঘাড় ধরে নিয়ে গেছেন এবং আমায় ছুঁড়ে ফেলে টুকরো টুকরো করেছেন; তিনি আবার আমায় তাঁর লক্ষ হিসাবে রেখেছেন।
13 His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
১৩তাঁর ধনুকধারীরা আমায় ঘিরে রেখেছে; ঈশ্বর আমার যকৃত ভেদ করেছেন এবং আমায় দয়া করেন নি; তিনি মাটিতে আমার পিত্ত ঢালেন।
14 He breaketh me with breach upon breach; he runneth upon me like a giant.
১৪তিনি আমার দেওয়াল বার বার ভেঙ্গেছেন; তিনি যোদ্ধার মত আমার দিকে দৌড়ে আসেন।
15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and have laid my horn in the dust.
১৫আমি আমার চামড়ার উপরে চট বুনেছি; আমি আমার শিং মাটিতে কলুষিত করেছি।
16 My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
১৬আমার মুখ কেঁদে লাল হয়েছে; মৃত্যুছায়া আমার চোখের উপরে আছে
17 Although there is no violence in mine hands, and my prayer is pure.
১৭যদিও আমার হাতে কোন হিংস্রতা নেই এবং আমার প্রার্থনা বিশুদ্ধ।
18 O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no [resting] place.
১৮পৃথিবী, আমার থেকে অন্যায় কে লুকিয়ো না; আমার কান্না যেন বিশ্রামের জায়গা না পায়।
19 Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and he that coucheth for me is on high.
১৯এমনকি এখনো, দেখ, আমার সাক্ষী স্বর্গে আছে; যিনি আমার হয়ে সাক্ষী দেবেন উর্ধে থাকেন।
20 My friends scorn me: [but] mine eye poureth out tears unto God;
২০আমার বন্ধুরা আমায় উপহাস করে, কিন্তু আমার চোখের জল পড়ে ঈশ্বরের কাছে।
21 That he would maintain the right of a man with God, and of a son of man with his neighbour!
২১আমি চাই সেই সাক্ষী যেন এই ব্যক্তির জন্য ঈশ্বরের কাছে অনুরোধ করে, যেমন একজন মানুষ তার প্রতিবেশীর প্রতি করে!
22 For when a few years are come, I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
২২কারণ যখন কিছু বছর পার হয়, আমি একটা জায়গায় যাব যেখান থেকে আমি আর ফিরব না।”
