Job 14
1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
Човек рођен од жене кратка је века и пун немира.
2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
Као цвет ниче, и одсеца се, и бежи као сен, и не остаје.
3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
И на таквог отвараш око своје, и мене водиш на суд са собом!
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
Ко ће чисто извадити из нечиста? Нико.
5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months is with thee, and thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
Измерени су дани његови, број месеца његових у Тебе је; поставио си му међу, преко које не може прећи.
6 Look away from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
Одврати се од њега да почине докле не наврши као надничар дан свој.
7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Јер за дрво има надања, ако се посече, да ће се још омладити и да неће бити без изданка;
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
Ако и остари у земљи корен његов и у праху изумре пањ његов,
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and put forth boughs like a plant.
Чим осети воду, опет напупи и пусти гране као присад.
10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
А човек умире изнемогао; и кад издахне човек, где је?
11 [As] the waters fail from the sea, and the river decayeth and drieth up;
Као кад вода отече из језера и река опадне и усахне,
12 So man lieth down and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.
Тако човек кад легне, не устаје више; докле је небеса неће се пробудити нити ће се пренути ода сна свог.
13 Oh that thou wouldest hide me in Sheol, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! (Sheol h7585)
О да ме хоћеш у гробу сакрити и склонити ме докле не утоли гнев Твој, и да ми даш рок кад ћеш ме се опоменути! (Sheol h7585)
14 If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my warfare would I wait, till my release should come.
Кад умре човек, хоће ли оживети? Све дане времена које ми је одређено чекаћу докле ми дође промена.
15 Thou shouldest call, and I would answer thee: thou wouldest have a desire to the work of thine hands.
Зазваћеш, и ја ћу Ти се одазвати; дело руку својих пожелећеш.
16 But now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
А сада бројиш кораке моје, и ништа не остављаш за грех мој.
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou fastenest up mine iniquity.
Запечаћени су у тобоцу моји преступи, и завезујеш безакоња моја.
18 And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of its place;
Заиста, као што гора падне и распадне се, и као што се стена одвали с места свог,
19 The waters wear the stones; the overflowings thereof wash away the dust of the earth: and thou destroyest the hope of man.
И као што вода спира камење и поводањ односи прах земаљски, тако надање човечије обраћаш у ништа.
20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth; thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
Надвађујеш га једнако, те одлази, мењаш му лице и отпушташ га.
21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
Ако синови његови буду у части, он не зна; ако ли у срамоти, он се не брине.
22 But his flesh upon him hath pain, and his soul within him mourneth.
Само тело док је жив болује, и душа његова у њему тужи.
