Jeremiah 51
1 Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in Lebkamai, a destroying wind.
১সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “দেখ, আমি বাবিল ও লেব্-কামাই বসবাসকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে ধ্বংসকারী বাতাসকে জাগিয়ে তুলব।
2 And I will send unto Babylon strangers, that shall fan her; and they shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.
২আমি বাবিলের কাছে বিদেশীদের পাঠাব। তারা তাকে ছড়িয়ে দেবে এবং তার দেশকে ধ্বংস করবে। কারণ তারা তার বিপদের দিনের চারিদিক থেকে তার বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়াবে।
3 Let not the archer bend his bow, and let him not lift himself up in his coat of mail: and spare ye not her young men; destroy ye utterly all her host.
৩ধনুকধারী তার ধনুকে টান না দিক, সে তার বর্ম না পরুক। তার যুবকদের ছেড়ে দিয়ো না; তার সৈন্যদলকে সম্পূর্ণভাবে ধ্বংস করে দাও।
4 And they shall fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and thrust through in her streets.
৪কলদীয়দের দেশে আহত লোকেরা পতিত হবে এবং তার রাস্তায় নিহত হয়ে পতিত হবে।”
5 For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah, of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.
৫কারণ ইস্রায়েল ও যিহূদাকে তাদের ঈশ্বর, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু ত্যাগ করেন নি, যদিও তাদের দেশ ইস্রায়েলের পবিত্রজনের বিরুদ্ধে দোষে পূর্ণ হয়েছে।
6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and save every man his life; be not cut off in her iniquity: for it is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
৬তোমরা বাবিলের মধ্যে থেকে পালাও। প্রত্যেকে নিজেকে রক্ষা কর। তার পাপের জন্য ধ্বংস হয়ে যেয়ো না। কারণ এটা সদাপ্রভুর প্রতিশোধের দিন। তার সমস্ত পাওনা তাকে তিনি দেবেন।
7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand; that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunk of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
৭বাবিল সদাপ্রভুর হাতে একটা সোনার পেয়ালার মত ছিল, যেটা সমস্ত পৃথিবীকে মাতাল করেছিল। জাতিরা তার আঙ্গুর রস খেয়েছিল এবং উন্মত্ত হয়েছে।
8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
৮বাবিল হঠাৎ পতিত হবে ও ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে। তার জন্য বিলাপ কর! তার ব্যথার জন্য ওষুধ দাও; হয়তো সে সুস্থ হবে।
9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
৯আমরা বাবিলকে সুস্থ করতে চেষ্টা করেছি, কিন্তু সে সুস্থ হয়নি। আমরা তাকে ছেড়ে আমাদের নিজেদের দেশে চলে যাই। কারণ তার শাস্তি আকাশ পর্যন্ত পৌঁছেছে, তা মেঘ পর্যন্ত জমেছে।
10 The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.
১০সদাপ্রভু নির্দোষিতা ঘোষণা করেছেন। এস, আমাদের ঈশ্বর, সদাপ্রভু যা করেছেন, তা আমরা সিয়োনে বলি।
11 Make sharp the arrows; hold firm the shields: the LORD hath stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Medes; because his device is against Babylon, to destroy it: for it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
১১তোমরা তীরগুলি ধারালো কর, ঢাল প্রস্তুত কর। সদাপ্রভু বাবিলকে ধ্বংস করার পরিকল্পনায় মাদীয় রাজাদের উত্তেজিত করেছেন। এটি সদাপ্রভুর প্রতিশোধ, তাঁর মন্দির ধ্বংস করার প্রতিশোধ।
12 Set up a standard against the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.
১২বাবিলের দেওয়ালের বিরুদ্ধে একটি পতাকা তোল। রক্ষীদেরকে আরও সাহস দাও, পাহারাদার নিযুক্ত কর, গোপন স্থানে সৈন্যদের প্রস্তুত রাখ। কারণ সদাপ্রভু বাবিলের লোকদের বিষয়ে পরিকল্পনা করেছেন। তিনি বাবিলের লোকেদের বিরুদ্ধে যা ঘোষণা করেছেন, তাই করবেন।
13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, the measure of thy covetousness.
১৩তোমরা, যারা অনেক জলস্রোতের ধারে বাস কর, তোমরা যারা অনেক সম্পদের অধিকারী; তোমার নিঃশেষ হয়ে এসেছে। এখন তোমার জীবনের সুতো কেটে ফেলবার দিন।
14 The LORD of hosts hath sworn by himself, [saying], Surely I will fill thee with men, as with the cankerworm; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.
১৪বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু তাঁর নিজের নামে শপথ করে বলেছেন, “আমি এক ঝাঁক পঙ্গপালের মত শত্রু দিয়ে তোমাকে পূর্ণ করব, তারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে জয়ের হাঁক দেবে।”
15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding hath he stretched out the heavens:
১৫সৃষ্টিকর্ত্তা তাঁর নিজের শক্তিতে পৃথিবী তৈরী করেছেন, তাঁর জ্ঞান দিয়ে জগৎ স্থাপন করেছেন ও বুদ্ধি দ্বারা আকাশমন্ডল ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন।
16 when he uttereth his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
১৬তিনি রব ছাড়লে আকাশের জল গর্জন করে; তিনি পৃথিবীর শেষ সীমানা থেকে বাষ্প উঠিয়ে আনেন। তিনি বৃষ্টির জন্য বিদ্যুৎ তৈরী করেন এবং তাঁর ভান্ডার থেকে বাতাস বের করে আনেন।
17 Every man is become brutish [and is] without knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
১৭সব মানুষই জ্ঞানহীন পশুর মত হয়েছে; প্রত্যেক স্বর্ণকার তার মূর্তিগুলির জন্য লজ্জা পায়। কারণ তার ছাঁচে ঢালা মূর্তিগুলি মিথ্যা, সেগুলির মধ্যে নিঃশ্বাস নেই।
18 They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
১৮সেগুলি অপদার্থ, বিদ্রূপের জিনিস; বিচারের দিন সেগুলি ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে।
19 The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and [Israel] is the tribe of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.
১৯কিন্তু ঈশ্বর, যিনি যাকোবের অধিকার, তিনি এগুলির মত নন; কারণ তিনি সমস্ত জিনিসের সৃষ্টিকর্ত্তা, ইস্রায়েল তাঁর উত্তরাধিকারের বংশ। তাঁর নাম বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু।
20 Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: and with thee will I break in pieces the nations; and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;
২০“তুমি আমার যুদ্ধের গদা, আমার যুদ্ধের অস্ত্র; তোমাকে দিয়ে আমি জাতিদের চুরমার করব এবং রাজ্যগুলিকে ধ্বংস করব।
21 and with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and him that rideth therein;
২১তোমাকে দিয়ে আমি ঘোড়া ও ঘোড়াচালককে চুরমার করব, তোমাকে দিয়ে রথ ও রথচালকদের চুরমার করব।
22 and with thee will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces the old man and the youth; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;
২২তোমাকে দিয়ে আমি পুরুষ ও স্ত্রীলোককে চুরমার করব, তোমাকে দিয়ে বুড়ো ও শিশুকে চুরমার করব, তোমাকে দিয়ে যুবক ও কুমারীকে চুরমার করব।
23 and with thee will I break in pieces the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke [of oxen]; and with thee will I break in pieces governors and deputies.
২৩তোমাকে দিয়ে আমি মেষপালক ও তাদের পশুপালকে চুরমার করব, তোমাকে দিয়ে চাষী ও বলদদের চুরমার করব, তোমাকে দিয়ে শাসকদের ও রাজকর্মচারীদের চুরমার করব।
24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.
২৪কারণ তোমাদের চোখের সামনে বাবিল ও বাবিলে বাসকারী কলদীয়দের, তাদের সিয়োন করা সমস্ত মন্দ কাজের জন্য আমি প্রতিফল দেব” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
২৫“দেখ, ধ্বংসকারী পাহাড়, যে অন্যদের ধ্বংস করে; আমি তোমার বিরুদ্ধে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “সমস্ত পৃথিবীর ধ্বংসকারী, আমি তোমার বিরুদ্ধে আমার হাত বাড়াব এবং পাহাড় থেকে তোমাকে গড়িয়ে ফেলে দেব। তখন তোমাকে একটি জলন্ত পাহাড় করব।
26 And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the LORD.
২৬লোকে কোণের জন্য তোমার মধ্যে থেকে কোন পাথর বা ভিতের জন্য নেবে না; তুমি চিরকাল জনশূন্য হয়ে থাকবে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
27 Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz: appoint a marshal against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough cankerworm.
২৭“তোমরা দেশের মধ্যে নিশান তোল। জাতিদের মধ্যে তূরী বাজাও। তার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধের জন্য জাতিদের প্রস্তুত কর; তার বিরুদ্ধে অরারট, মিন্নি ও অস্কিনস রাজ্যকে ডাকো। তার বিরুদ্ধে একজন সেনাপতিকে নিযুক্ত কর; পঙ্গপালের মত ঘোড়াদের পাঠাও।
28 Prepare against her the nations, the kings of the Medes, the governors thereof, and all the deputies thereof, and all the land of his dominion.
২৮তার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করার জন্য জাতিদের, মাদীয় রাজাদের, তাদের শাসনকর্ত্তাদের, তার সব রাজকর্মচারীদের এবং তার শাসনের অধীন সমস্ত দেশকে প্রস্তুত কর।
29 And the land trembleth and is in pain: for the purposes of the LORD against Babylon do stand, to make the land of Babylon a desolation, without inhabitant.
২৯দেশ কাঁপছে ও যন্ত্রণা পাচ্ছে, কারণ বাবিল দেশকে ধ্বংস ও জনশূন্য করার জন্য বাবিলের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভুর পরিকল্পনা সফল হয়েছে।
30 The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they remain in their strong holds; their might hath failed; they are become as women: her dwelling places are set on fire; her bars are broken.
৩০বাবিলের যোদ্ধারা যুদ্ধ করা থামিয়েছে; তারা তাদের দুর্গের মধ্যে রয়েছে। তাদের শক্তি ব্যর্থ হয়েছে; তারা স্ত্রীলোকদের মত দুর্বল হয়ে গেছে তাদের বাসস্থানগুলিতে আগুন লেগেছে; তার ফটকের খিলগুলি ভেঙে গেছে।
31 One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to shew the king of Babylon that his city is taken on every quarter:
৩১সংবাদদাতার প্রচার করার জন্য অন্য সংবাদদাতার কাছে এবং দূতের অন্য দূত কাছে চলেছে, যেন বাবিলের রাজার কাছে খবর দেওয়া যায় যে, তার শহরটাই অধিকার করা হয়েছে।
32 and the passages are surprised, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.
৩২তার নদীর পারগুলি দখল করা হয়েছে, কেল্লাগুলিতে আগুন লাগানো হয়েছে ও বাবিলের সৈন্যেরা বিস্মিত হয়েছে।”
33 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing-floor at the time when it is trodden; yet a little while, and the time of harvest shall come for her.
৩৩কারণ বাহিনীগনের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, “বাবিলের মেয়ে শস্য মাড়াই করা খামারের মত; কিছুদিনের র মধ্যেই তার ফসল কাটার দিন চলে আসবে।
34 Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his maw with my delicates; he hath cast me out.
৩৪যিরূশালেম বলে, ‘বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর আমাকে গ্রাস করেছেন, আমাকে চুরমার করেছেন, আমাকে খালি পাত্রের মত করেছেন। দানবের মত তিনি আমাকে গিলে ফেলেছেন। আমার ভাল খাবার দিয়ে তাঁর পেট ভর্তি করেছেন, তারপর আমাকে দূর করে দিয়েছেন’।
35 The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and, My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.
৩৫সিয়োনের বাসিন্দারা বলবে, ‘আমার প্রতি ও আমার মাংসের প্রতি যে অত্যাচার করা হয়েছে, তা বাবিলের উপর করা হোক’। যিরূশালেম বলবে, ‘আমাদের রক্তের অপরাধ কলদীয় বাসিন্দাদের বিরুদ্ধে থাকুক’।”
36 Therefore thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.
৩৬সেইজন্য সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “দেখ, আমি তোমার পক্ষ সমর্থন করব এবং তোমার জন্য প্রতিশোধ নেব। কারণ আমি বাবিলের জল শুকিয়ে ফেলব এবং সব উনুইকে শুকনো করব।
37 And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for jackals, an astonishment, and an hissing, without inhabitant.
৩৭বাবিল হবে একটা ধ্বংসের ঢিবি, শিয়ালদের বাসস্থান, একটি আতঙ্ক শিশ দেওয়ার একটি পাত্র; যেখানে কেউ বাস করে না।
38 They shall roar together like young lions; they shall growl as lions’ whelps.
৩৮বাবিলের লোকেরা একসাথে সিংহের মত গর্জন করবে, সিংহের বাচ্চাদের মত গোঁ গোঁ করবে।
39 When they are heated, I will make their feast, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD.
৩৯যখন তারা লোভে উত্তপ্ত হয়, আমি তাদের জন্য একটা ভোজ প্রস্তুত করব। আমি তাদের মাতাল করব যেন তারা সুখী হয় এবং তারপর চিরকালের জন্য ঘুমিয়ে পরে আর কখনও না জেগে ওঠে।
40 I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he-goats.
৪০আমি তাদের বাচ্চা ভেড়াদের মত করে, ভেড়া ও ছাগলের মত করে হত্যার স্থানে নিয়ে যাব।
41 How is Sheshach taken! and the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
৪১বাবিলকে কেমন দখল করা হয়েছে! তাই সমস্ত পৃথিবীর প্রশংসার পাত্রকে অধিকার করা হয়েছে। বাবিল সমস্ত জাতির মধ্যে কেমন ধ্বংসস্থানে পরিণত হয়েছে।
42 The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
৪২বাবিলের উপরে সমুদ্র উঠে পড়েছে, সে তার গর্জন করা ঢেউ ঢেকে গেছে।
43 Her cities are become a desolation, a dry land, and a desert, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
৪৩তার শহরগুলি ধ্বংসস্থান, শুকনো ভূমি ও মরুপ্রান্তের দেশ হয়ে গেছে; যে দেশে কেউ বাস করে না, তার মধ্যে দিয়ে কোনো মানুষ যাতায়াত করে না।
44 And I will do judgment upon Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up; and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
৪৪তাই আমি বাবিলের বেল দেবতাকে শাস্তি দেব; সে যা গিলে ফেলেছে, আমি তার মুখ দিয়ে তা বের করব এবং জাতিরা তার কাছে স্রোতের মত প্রবাহিত হবে না। বাবিলের দেয়াল পড়ে যাবে।
45 My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and save yourselves every man from the fierce anger of the LORD.
৪৫হে আমার প্রজারা, তার মধ্যে থেকে দূর হও। সদাপ্রভুর জ্বলন্ত ক্রোধ থেকে তোমরা প্রত্যেকে নিজের নিজের জীবন রক্ষা কর।
46 And let not your heart faint, neither fear ye for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; for a rumour shall come one year, and after that in another year [shall come] a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
৪৬তোমাদের অন্তরকে ভীতু হতে ও সেই খবরকে ভয় পেতে দিও না, যা সেই দেশে শোনা যায়; কারণ এক বছরে সেই খবর আসবে। তার পরে অন্য বছরেও একটি খবর আসবে এবং সেই দেশে অনিষ্ট হবে। শাসক অন্য শাসকের বিরুদ্ধে আসবে।
47 Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon, and her whole land shall be ashamed; and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
৪৭অতএব, দেখ, সেই দিন আসছে যখন আমি বাবিলের ক্ষোদিত প্রতিমাগুলিকে শাস্তি দেব। তার সমস্ত দেশ লজ্জিত হবে এবং তার সমস্ত নিহত লোকেরা তার মধ্যে পড়ে থাকবে।
48 Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for joy over Babylon; for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the LORD.
৪৮তখন আকাশমন্ডল, পৃথিবী ও সেগুলির মধ্যেকার সব কিছু বাবিলের বিষয়ে আনন্দ করবে, কারণ তার জন্য উত্তর দিক থেকে ধ্বংসকারীরা আসবে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
49 As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the land.
৪৯“বাবিল যেমন সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের পতিতদের হত্যা করেছে, তেমনি সমস্ত দেশের নিহতরা বাবিলে পতিত হবে।
50 Ye that have escaped the sword, go ye, stand not still; remember the LORD from afar, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.
৫০তরোয়ালের হাত থেকে রক্ষা পেয়েছ, চলে যাও! এখনো পর্যন্ত থেকো না। দূর থেকে সদাপ্রভুকে ডাক; যিরূশালেমকে স্মরণ কর।
51 We are ashamed, because we have heard reproach; confusion hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD’S house.
৫১আমরা লজ্জিত, কারণ অপমানিত হয়েছি। কলঙ্ক আমাদের মুখ ঢেকে ফেলেছে, কারণ সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের পবিত্র স্থানে বিদেশীরা ঢুকেছে।
52 Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images; and through all her land the wounded shall groan.
৫২অতএব, দেখ, সেই দিন আসছে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “যখন আমি তার ক্ষোদিত প্রতিমাগুলিকে শাস্তি দেব এবং তার দেশের সব জায়গায় আহত লোকেরা আর্তনাদ করবে।
53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.
৫৩কারণ যদি বাবিল আকাশ পর্যন্তও পৌঁছায় আর সেখানে শক্ত দুর্গ সুরক্ষিত করে, তবুও ধ্বংসকারীরা আমার কাছ থেকে তার কাছে যাবে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
54 The sound of a cry from Babylon, and of great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans!
৫৪বাবিল থেকে মর্মান্তিক কান্নার শব্দ আসছে, কলদীয়দের দেশ থেকে মহা ধ্বংসের শব্দ আসছে।
55 For the LORD spoileth Babylon, and destroyeth out of her the great voice; and their waves roar like many waters, the noise of their voice is uttered:
৫৫কারণ সদাপ্রভু বাবিলকে ধ্বংস করছেন। তিনি তার বিনষ্টের শব্দকে থামিয়ে দিচ্ছেন। তাদের শত্রুরা অনেক জলের ঢেউয়ের মত গর্জন করে; তাদের গর্জনের শব্দ খুব জোরালো।
56 for the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, their bows are broken in pieces: for the LORD is a God of recompences, he shall surely requite.
৫৬কারণ ধ্বংসকারীরা তার বিরুদ্ধে আসবে বাবিলের বিরুদ্ধে! এবং তার যোদ্ধারা আক্রান্ত হয়েছে। তাদের ধনুকগুলি ভেঙে গেল; কারণ সদাপ্রভু প্রতিশোধ দাতা ঈশ্বর; তিনি পুরোপুরিই প্রতিফল দেবেন।
57 And I will make drunk her princes and her wise men, her governors and her deputies, and her mighty men; and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
৫৭কারণ আমি তাকে রাজকর্মচারী, জ্ঞানী, শাসনকর্ত্তা এবং তার যোদ্ধাদের মাতাল করব; তারা চিরকালের জন্য ঘুমাবে ও কখনও জাগবে না এটা সেই রাজার ঘোষণা, যাঁর নাম বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু।
58 Thus saith the LORD of hosts: The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly overthrown, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the peoples shall labour for vanity, and the nations for the fire; and they shall be weary.
৫৮বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “বাবিলের মোটা দেয়ালগুলি সম্পূর্ণভাবে ধ্বংস হবে এবং তার উঁচু ফটকগুলি পুড়ে যাবে। তখন লোকেরা শুধুমাত্র অনর্থক পরিশ্রম করবে; জাতিরা তাদের জন্য যা কিছু করতে চায়, সবই পুড়ে যাবে।”
59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah to Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. Now Seraiah was chief chamberlain.
৫৯যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয়ের চতুর্থ বছরে মহসেয়ের নাতি, নেরিয়ের ছেলে সরায় যখন রাজার সঙ্গে বাবিলে যান, তখন যিরমিয় তাঁকে এই সব আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন। কারণ সরায় একজন প্রধান কর্মচারী ছিলেন।
60 And Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written concerning Babylon.
৬০কারণ একটি গুটানো কাগজে বাবিলের উপর যে সব বিপদ আসবে তা যিরমিয় লিখেছিলেন।
61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, then see that thou read all these words,
৬১যিরমিয় সরায়কে বললেন, “যখন তুমি বাবিলে পৌঁছাবে, তখন তুমি অবশ্যই সমস্ত কথা পড়বে।
62 and say, O LORD, thou hast spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that none shall dwell therein, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.
৬২তারপর বোলো, ‘সদাপ্রভু, তুমি এই জায়গা ধ্বংস করার কথা বলেছ। তাতে কোন বাসিন্দা থাকবে না, সে চিরদিনের র জন্য জনশূন্য হয়ে থাকবে’।
63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:
৬৩তখন যখন তুমি এই গুটানো কাগজটি পড়া শেষ করেছ, তাতে একটি পাথর বেঁধে ইউফ্রেটিসের মাঝে ফেলে দেবে।
64 and thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise again because of the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
৬৪বোলো, ‘এই ভাবে বাবিল ডুবে যাবে, সে আর উঠবে না; কারণ আমি তার উপর বিপদ আনব। তারা পতিত হবে’।” যিরমিয়ের কথা এখানেই শেষ।
