Jeremiah 45

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah; saying,

൧യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനും യെഹൂദാരാജാവുമായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ നാലാം ആണ്ടിൽ, നേര്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക്ക് ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വാമൊഴിപ്രകാരം ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയപ്പോൾ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞ വചനം എന്തെന്നാൽ:

2 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch:

൨“ബാരൂക്കേ, നിന്നോട് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.

൩‘യഹോവ എന്റെ വേദനയോടു ദുഃഖം കൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഞരക്കംകൊണ്ടു തളർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു ആശ്വാസവും കാണുന്നില്ല’ എന്ന് നീ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus saith the LORD: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

൪ഞാൻ പണിതത് ഞാൻ തന്നെ ഇടിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; ഞാൻ നട്ടത് ഞാൻ തന്നെ പറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും അത് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ.

5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

൫എന്നാൽ നീ നിനക്കായിട്ട് വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവോ? ആഗ്രഹിക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ സർവ്വജഡത്തിനും അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്; “എങ്കിലും നീ പോകുന്ന എല്ലാ സ്ഥലത്തും ഒരു കൊള്ളപോലെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ജീവനെ നിനക്ക് തരും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നീ അവനോട് പറയണം” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
