Jeremiah 36
1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
யூதாவின் அரசன் யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீம் ஆட்சி செய்த நான்காம் வருடத்தில், யெகோவாவிடமிருந்து எரேமியாவுக்கு இந்த வார்த்தை வந்தது.
2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write thereon all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
“நீ ஒரு புத்தகச்சுருளை எடுத்து, அதிலே யோசியா அரசாண்ட நாள் முதல் இன்றுவரை இஸ்ரயேலையும், யூதாவையும் எல்லா மக்களையும் குறித்து உன்னிடம் நான் சொன்ன எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் எழுது;
3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
ஒருவேளை யூதா மக்கள் நான் அவர்கள்மீது கொண்டுவரத் திட்டமிட்டிருக்கும் எல்லா பேராபத்தையும் கேள்விப்படும்போது, ஒவ்வொருவனும் தங்கள் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்பக்கூடும். அப்பொழுது நான் அவர்களுடைய கொடுமையையும், பாவத்தையும் மன்னிப்பேன்.”
4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
அப்படியே எரேமியா, நேரியாவின் மகன் பாரூக்கை கூப்பிட்டான். யெகோவா எரேமியாவுக்குக் கூறிய எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் எரேமியா சொல்லச்சொல்ல, பாரூக் அவைகளைப் புத்தகச்சுருளில் எழுதினான்.
5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:
எரேமியா பாரூக்கிடம், “நான் தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்; யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திற்குள் எனக்குப் போகமுடியாது.
6 therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’S house upon the fast day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
ஆகவே நீ ஒரு உபவாச நாளன்று யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திற்குப்போய், நான் சொல்லச்சொல்ல நீ எழுதிய வார்த்தைகளை அந்தப் புத்தகச்சுருளிலிருந்து மக்களுக்கு வாசி. அவைகளைத் தங்கள் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து வரும் எல்லா யூதா மக்களுக்கும் கேட்கும்படி வாசித்துக் காட்டு.
7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக தங்கள் விண்ணப்பங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து, ஒவ்வொருவரும் தன் பொல்லாத வழிகளை விட்டுத் திரும்பக்கூடும். ஏனெனில் இந்த மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக யெகோவாவினால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட கோபமும், தண்டனையும் பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது.”
8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD’S house.
இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியா செய்யச் சொன்ன ஒவ்வொன்றையும் நேரியாவின் மகன் பாரூக் செய்தான். அந்தப் புத்தகத்திலிருந்த யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தைகளை யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தில் அவன் வாசித்தான்.
9 Now it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before the LORD.
யூதாவின் அரசன் யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீம் அரசாண்ட ஐந்தாம் வருடம் ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்தில், யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக உபவாசிக்கும் காலம் ஒன்று குறிக்கப்பட்டது. இது எருசலேமில் இருந்த எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து வந்தவர்களுக்கும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
10 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD’S house, in the ears of all the people.
செயலாளராகிய சாப்பானின் மகன் கெமரியாவின் அறை, யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தின் மேல்முற்றத்தில் உள்ள வாசலின் உட்செல்லும் வழியில் இருந்தது. பாரூக் அங்கிருந்து புத்தகச்சுருளிலிருந்த எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகளை ஆலயத்திலிருந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.
11 And when Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,
சாப்பானின் மகனான கெமரியாவின் மகன் மிகாயா, புத்தகத்திலிருந்து வாசித்த யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் கேட்டான்.
12 he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
அப்போது அவன் அரண்மனையின் எல்லா அதிகாரிகளும் இருந்த செயலாளருடைய அறைக்குள் போனான். அங்கே செயலாளராகிய எலிசாமா, செமாயாவின் மகன் தெலாயா, அக்போரின் மகன் எல்நாத்தான், சாப்பானின் மகன் கெமரியா, அனனியாவின் மகன் சிதேக்கியா மற்றும் எல்லா அதிகாரிகளும் இருந்தார்கள்.
13 Then Micaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
பாரூக் புத்தகத்திலிருந்து மக்களுக்கு வாசித்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்ட மிகாயா அவர்களுக்கு எல்லாவற்றையும் சொன்னான்.
14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
அதன்பின் எல்லா அதிகாரிகளும் கூஷியின் மகனான செலேமியாவின் பேரனும், நெத்தனியாவின் மகனுமான யெகுதியை பாரூக்கிடம் அனுப்பி, “நீ மக்களுக்கு வாசித்துக் காட்டிய புத்தகச்சுருளை இங்கே கொண்டுவா” என்று சொல்லும்படி கூறினார்கள். ஆகவே நேரியாவின் மகனான பாரூக், புத்தகச்சுருளைக் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு அவர்களிடம் போனான்.
15 And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
அவர்கள் அவனிடம், “தயவுசெய்து உட்கார்ந்து எங்களுக்கு அதை வாசி” என்றார்கள். அப்படியே பாரூக் அவர்களுக்கு அதை வாசித்தான்.
16 Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
அவர்கள் இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் கேட்டபோது பயத்துடன் ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து, பாரூக்கிடம், “நாங்கள் இந்த வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் அரசனிடம் அறிவிக்கவேண்டும்” என்றார்கள்.
17 And they asked Baruch, saying, tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?
பின்பு அவர்கள் பாரூக்கிடம், “இவ்வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் எவ்வாறு நீ எழுத நேர்ந்தது? இதை எரேமியா சொல்லச்சொல்ல நீ எழுதினாயா? எங்களுக்குச் சொல்” என்றார்கள்.
18 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
அப்பொழுது பாரூக், “ஆம் இந்த வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் எரேமியா சொல்லச்சொல்ல நானே புத்தகச்சுருளில் மையினால் எழுதினேன்” என்று சொன்னான்.
19 Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.
அதற்கு அதிகாரிகள் பாரூக்கிடம், “நீயும், எரேமியாவும் போய் ஒளிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். நீங்கள் இருக்கும் இடம் ஒருவருக்கும் தெரியக்கூடாது” என்று சொன்னார்கள்.
20 And they went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.
அவர்கள் செயலாளராகிய எலிசாமாவின் அறையில் புத்தகச்சுருளை வைத்துவிட்டு, அரண்மனை முற்றத்திலிருந்த அரசனிடம் போய் எல்லாவற்றையும் அறிவித்தார்கள்.
21 So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.
அப்பொழுது அரசன் அச்சுருளை எடுக்கும்படி யெகுதியை அனுப்பினான், அவன் செயலாளராகிய எலிசாமாவின் அறையிலிருந்து அதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, அரசனுக்கும் அவனருகில் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்த அதிகாரிகள் எல்லோருக்கும் வாசித்துக் காட்டினான்.
22 Now the king sat in the winter house in the ninth month: and [there was a fire in] the brasier burning before him.
அது ஒன்பதாம் மாதமாயிருந்தது. அரசன் குளிர்க்கால மாளிகையில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான். அவனுக்கு முன் ஒரு அனல் அடுப்பில் நெருப்பு எரிந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.
23 And it came to pass, when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, that [the king] cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brasier, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was in the brasier.
யெகுதி சுருளிலிருந்து இரண்டு மூன்று பத்திகள் வாசித்து முடித்ததும், அரசன் அந்தப் பகுதியை கத்தியினால் வெட்டி நெருப்பிற்குள் எறிந்தான். இவ்வாறு முழுப் புத்தகச்சுருளும் நெருப்பில் எரிக்கப்பட்டது.
24 And they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
இவைகளைக் கேட்ட அரசனும் அவனுடைய ஏவலாட்களும் பயப்படவுமில்லை, துக்கத்தால் தங்கள் உடைகளைக் கிழித்துக் கொள்ளவுமில்லை.
25 Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
எல்நாத்தானும், தெலாயா மற்றும் கெமரியாவும் அச்சுருளை எரிக்கவேண்டாமென அரசனைக் கெஞ்சிக் கேட்டபோதிலும், அவன் அவர்களுக்குச் செவிசாய்க்கவில்லை.
26 And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.
ஆனால் அரசனோ எழுத்தாளனாகிய பாரூக்கையும், இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியாவையும் கைதுசெய்யும்படி, அரசனின் மகனாகிய யெரமெயேலுக்கும், அஸ்ரியேலின் மகன் செராயாவுக்கும், அப்தெயேலின் மகன் செலேமியாவுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டான். ஆனால் அவர்களை யெகோவா மறைத்து வைத்திருந்தார்.
27 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
எரேமியா சொல்ல பாரூக் எழுதிய வார்த்தைகளைக் கொண்ட புத்தகச்சுருளை அரசன் எரித்த பின்பு, யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது.
28 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.
“நீ இன்னொரு சுருளை எடுத்து யூதா அரசன் யோயாக்கீம் எரித்த, முதல் புத்தகச்சுருளிலிருந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் திரும்பவும் எழுதிவை.
29 And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD: Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
மேலும் நீ யூதா அரசனாகிய யோயாக்கீமிடம் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது: ‘யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே; “பாபிலோன் அரசன் வந்து நாட்டை அழித்து, அதிலிருந்து மனிதரையும் மிருகங்களையும் அகற்றிப்போடுவான் என்பதையும், நீ அதில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதென்று சொல்லி, அந்தச் சுருளை நீ சுட்டெரித்தாயே.”
30 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
ஆகையால் யூதாவின் அரசனாகிய யோயாக்கீமை குறித்து யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: தாவீதினுடைய அரியணையில் இருந்து அரசாளுவதற்கு அவனுக்கு ஒருவனும் இருக்கமாட்டான். அவனுடைய இறந்த உடல் வெளியில் எறியப்படும். பகற்பொழுதின் சூட்டிலும், இரவின் பனியிலும் கிடக்கும்.
31 And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they hearkened not.
நான் அவனையும், அவன் பிள்ளைகளையும், அவனுடைய வேலையாட்களையும், அவர்களுடைய கொடுமைக்காகத் தண்டிப்பேன். அவர்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்காதபடியால் அவர்கள்மீதும், எருசலேமில் வாழ்வோர்மீதும், யூதாவின் மக்கள்மீதும் அவர்களுக்கெதிராக நான் கூறிய எல்லா பேராபத்தையும் கொண்டுவருவேன்’ என்றார்.”
32 Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.
அப்பொழுது எரேமியா வேறொரு புத்தகச்சுருளை எடுத்து அதை நேரியாவின் மகனும், எழுத்தாளனுமான பாரூக்கிடம் கொடுத்தான். அவன் யூதாவின் அரசன் யோயாக்கீம் நெருப்பில் எரித்த புத்தகச்சுருளிலிருந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும், எரேமியா சொல்லச்சொல்ல அதிலே எழுதினான். அவைகளோடு முந்திய வார்த்தைகளை போன்ற வேறு பல வார்த்தைகளும் சேர்க்கப்பட்டன.
