Jeremiah 17
1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, [and] with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
El pecado de Judá escrito está con cincel de hierro, y con punta de diamante, esculpido en la tabla de su corazón, y en los lados de vuestros altares;
2 whilst their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees upon the high hills.
Para que sus hijos se acuerden de sus altares, y de sus bosques junto a los árboles verdes, y en los collados altos.
3 O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures for a spoil, [and] thy high places, because of sin, throughout all thy borders.
Mi montañés, en el campo son tus riquezas: todos tus tesoros daré a saco, por el pecado de tus altos, en todos tus términos.
4 And thou, even of thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger which shall burn for ever.
Y habrá remisión en ti de tu heredad, la cual yo te dí; y hacerte he servir a tus enemigos en tierra que no conociste; porque fuego encendisteis en mi furor, para siempre arderá.
5 Thus saith the LORD: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Así dijo Jehová: Maldito el varón que confía en el hombre, y pone carne por su brazo, y su corazón se aparta de Jehová.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.
Y será como la retama en el desierto; y no verá cuando viniere el bien: mas morará en las securas en el desierto, en tierra despoblada y deshabitada.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Bendito el varón que se fía de Jehová, y que Jehová es su confianza.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out his roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but his leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Porque él será como el árbol plantado junto a las aguas, que junto a la corriente echará sus raíces; y no verá cuando viniere el calor, y su hoja será verde; y en el año de prohibición no se fatigará, ni dejará de hacer fruto.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is desperately sick: who can know it?
Engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas, y perverso: ¿quién le conocerá?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
Yo Jehová que escudriño el corazón, que pruebo los riñones, para dar a cada uno según su camino, según el fruto de sus obras.
11 As the partridge that gathereth [young] which she hath not brought forth, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.
La perdiz que hurta lo que no parió, tal es el que allega riquezas y no con juicio: en medio de sus días las dejará, y en su postrimería será insipiente.
12 A glorious throne, [set] on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.
Solio de gloria, alteza desde el principio es el lugar de nuestro santuario.
13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed; they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
¡O esperanza de Israel, Jehová! todos los que te dejan, serán avergonzados; y los que de mí se apartan, serán escritos en el polvo; porque dejaron la vena de aguas vivas, a Jehová.
14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
Sáname, o! Jehová, y seré sano: sálvame, y seré salvo; porque tú eres mi alabanza.
15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
He aquí que ellos me dicen: ¿Dónde está la palabra de Jehová? Ahora venga.
16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd after thee; neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was before thy face.
Mas yo no me entremetí a ser pastor en pos de ti, ni deseé día de calamidad: tú lo sabes. Lo que de mi boca ha salido, en tu presencia ha sido.
17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my refuge in the day of evil.
No me seas tú por espanto: esperanza mía eres tú en el día malo.
18 Let them be ashamed that persecute me, but let not me be ashamed; let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
Avergüéncense los que me persiguen, y no me avergüence yo: asómbrense ellos, y no me asombre yo: trae sobre ellos día malo, y quebrántalos con doblado quebrantamiento.
19 Thus said the LORD unto me: Go, and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
Así me dijo Jehová: Vé, y pónte a la puerta de los hijos del pueblo, por la cual entran y salen los reyes de Judá; y a todas las puertas de Jerusalem.
20 and say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates;
Y decirles has: Oíd palabra de Jehová, reyes de Judá, y todo Judá, y todos los moradores de Jerusalem, que entráis por estas puertas.
21 Thus saith the LORD: Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
Así dijo Jehová: Guardád por vuestras vidas, y no traigáis carga en el día del sábado, para meter por las puertas de Jerusalem:
22 neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work: but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers;
Ni saquéis carga de vuestras casas en el día del sábado, ni hagáis obra alguna: mas santificád el día del sábado, como mandé a vuestros padres:
23 But they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.
Los cuales no oyeron, ni abajaron su oído; antes endurecieron su cerviz por no oír, ni recibir corrección.
24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
Porque será, que si oyendo me oyereis, dijo Jehová, que no metáis carga por las puertas de esta ciudad en el día del sábado, mas santificaréis el día del sábado, no haciendo en el ninguna obra:
25 then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
Entrarán por las puertas de esta ciudad los reyes y los príncipes, que se asientan sobre el trono de David, en carros y en caballos, ellos y sus príncipes, los varones de Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem: y esta ciudad será habitada para siempre.
26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowland, and from the mountains, and from the South, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and oblations, and frankincense, and bringing [sacrifices of] thanksgiving, unto the house of the LORD.
Y vendrán de las ciudades de Judá, y de los al derredores de Jerusalem, y de tierra de Ben-jamín, y de los campos, y del monte, y del austro, trayendo holocausto, y sacrificio, y presente, e incienso, y trayendo ofrendas de alabanza a la casa de Jehová.
27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
Mas si no me oyereis, para santificar el día del sábado, y para no traer carga, ni meterla por las puertas de Jerusalem en día de sábado, yo haré encender fuego en sus puertas, y consumirá los palacios de Jerusalem, y no se apagará.
