Isaiah 46
1 Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth; their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: the things that ye carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary [beast].
Bel se abaixa, Nebo se curva; seus ídolos são postos sobre os animais e sobre o gado; as cargas de vossos fardos são exaustivas para os [animais] já cansados.
2 They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.
Juntamente se encurvam e se abaixam; não podem salvar a carga, mas eles mesmos vão ao cativeiro.
3 Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which have been borne [by me] from the belly, which have been carried from the womb:
Ouvi-me, ó casa de Jacó, e todo o restante da casa de Israel; vós a quem eu carreguei desde o ventre, a quem levei desde o útero.
4 and even to old age I am he, and even to hoar hairs will I carry [you]: I have made, and I will bear; yea, I will carry, and will deliver.
E até [vossa] velhice eu serei o mesmo, e ainda até [à idade dos] cabelos grisalhos eu [vos] carregarei; eu [vos] fiz, e eu [vos] levarei; eu [vos] carregarei e [vos] livrarei.
5 To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
A quem me considerareis semelhante, e com quem [me] igualareis, e me comparareis, para que sejamos semelhantes?
6 Such as lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, they hire a goldsmith, and he maketh it a god; they fall down, yea, they worship.
Eles gastam o ouro da bolsa, e pesam a prata com balanças; pagam ao ourives, e daquilo ele faz um deus, e se prostram e adoram.
7 They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
Sobre os ombros o temam, o carregam, e o põem em seu lugar; ali ele fica, de seu lugar não se move; e se chamarem por ele, resposta nenhuma ele dá, nem o livra de sua aflição.
8 Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
Lembrai-vos disto, e sede corajosos; fazei memória disso no coração, ó transgressores!
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; [I am] God, and there is none like me;
Lembrai-vos das coisas passadas desde a antiguidade; porque eu sou Deus, e nenhum outro deus há, e ninguém há semelhante a mim,
10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not [yet] done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Que declaro o fim desde o princípio, e desde a antiguidade as coisas que ainda não aconteceram; que digo: Minha intenção será firme, e farei toda a minha vontade.
11 calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country; yea, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed, I will also do it.
Que chamo a ave de rapina desde o oriente, ao homem da minha intenção desde as terras distantes; porque assim disse; e assim o cumprirei; eu [o] formei, também o farei.
12 Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:
Ouvi-me, ó duros de coração; vós que estais longe da justiça:
13 I bring near my righteousness, it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry; and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory,
Eu trago para perto minha justiça, ela não ficará longe; e minha salvação não tardará; mas porei salvação em Sião, a Israel minha glória.
