< Isaiah 38 >

1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
Le ŋkeke mawo me la, Hezekia dze dɔ, eye wòɖo kudo nu. Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya, Amoz ƒe vi, yi egbɔ, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Ale Yehowa gblɔe nye esi, ‘Ɖɔ wò aƒe ɖo, elabena èle kuku ge, eye màhaya o.’”
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,
Hezekia trɔ mo ɖo ɖe gli ŋu, eye wòdo gbe ɖa, ɖe kuku na Yehowa be,
3 and said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
“O! Yehowa, ɖo ŋku ale si metsɔ dzi blibo kple nyateƒe zɔ le ŋkuwò mee, eye mewɔ nu si nyo le ŋkuwòme la dzi.” Eye Hezekia fa avi kple ɣli.
4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
Tete Yehowa ƒe gbe va na Yesaya be:
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
“Yi nàgblɔ na Hezekia be, ‘Ale Yehowa, fofowò David ƒe Mawu la gblɔe nye esi, “Mese wò gbedodoɖa, eye mekpɔ wò aɖatsiwo. Matsɔ ƒe wuiatɔ̃ akpe ɖe wò agbenɔƒewo ŋu.”
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
Maɖe wò kple du sia tso Asiria fia ƒe asi me. Maʋli du sia ta.
7 And this shall he the sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken:
“‘Esiae nye Yehowa ƒe dzesi na wò, be Yehowa awɔ nu si ŋugbe wòdo.
8 behold, I will cause the shadow on the steps, which is gone down on the dial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the dial whereon it was gone down.
Mana be vɔvɔli nagbugbɔ ɖe megbe ɖoƒe ewo tso Ahaz ƒe ɣetrɔti gbɔ.’” Ale ɣe ƒe vɔvɔli he ɖe megbe ɖoƒe ewo.

Esiae nye Yuda fia, Hezekia, ƒe nyaŋlɔɖiwo, esi wòhaya tso eƒe dɔléle la me vɔ megbe:
10 I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. (Sheol h7585)
Megblɔ be, “Le nye agbe ƒe kekeli me, ɖe mato ku ƒe agbowo me, eye woaxɔ nye agbemeŋkeke mamlɛawo le asinyea?” (Sheol h7585)
11 I said, I shall not see the LORD, [even] the LORD in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
Megblɔ be, “Nyemagakpɔ Yehowa o. Nyemagakpɔ Yehowa le agbagbeawo ƒe anyigba dzi o; nyemagakpɔ amegbetɔwo alo anɔ anyi kple ame siwo le xexe sia me o.
12 Mine age is removed, and is carried away from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have rolled up like a weaver my life; he will cut me off from the loom: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

14 Like a swallow [or] a crane, so did I chatter; I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail [with looking] upward; O LORD, I am oppressed, be thou my surety.

15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years because of the bitterness of my soul.
Nu ka gblɔ ge mala? Egblɔ nya nam, eye eya ŋutɔ wɔ ɖe edzi. Eya ta mazɔ ɖokuibɔbɔtɔe. Le nye agbemeŋkekewo katã me, le nye luʋɔ ƒe vevesese ta.
16 O Lord, by these things men live, and wholly therein is the life of my spirit: wherefore recover thou me, and make me to live.
O! Aƒetɔ, nu siawo ŋue amewo nɔa agbe ɖo, eye nye hã nye gbɔgbɔ kpɔ agbe le wo me. Èna mehaya, eye nègana mele agbe.
17 Behold, [it was] for [my] peace [that] I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. (Sheol h7585)
Elabena yɔdo mate ŋu akafu wò o, ku mate ŋu adzi kafukafuhawo na wò o, eye ame siwo yi aʋlime la mate ŋu akpɔ mɔ na wò nuteƒewɔwɔ o. (Sheol h7585)
19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
Ame gbagbewo koe akafu wò abe ale si mele wɔwɔm egbe ene, eye fofowo agblɔ wò nuteƒewɔwɔ na wo viwo.
20 The LORD is [ready] to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
Yehowa aɖem, eye míadzi ha kple kasaŋkuwo le míaƒe agbemeŋkekewo katã me, le Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ me.
21 Now Isaiah had said, Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.
Azɔ Yesaya gblɔ be, “Mitsɔ gbotsetse miaɖu, atikee. Mitsɔe ɖo ƒoƒoea dzi nɛ ekema ahaya.”
22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
Hezekia bia be, “Nu kae anye dzesi be magayi Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ me?”
