Isaiah 34
1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth of it
Kommt herbei, ihr Völkerschaften, um zu hören, und ihr Völker, merkt auf! Die Erde gebe acht und was sie füllt, der Erdkreis samt allem, was ihm entsproßt!
2 For the LORD hath indignation against all the nations, and fury against all their host: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
Denn ergrimmt ist der HERR gegen alle Völkerschaften und zornig gegen ihr gesamtes Heer; er hat sie dem Bann geweiht, hat sie zur Schlachtung bestimmt,
3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and the stink of their carcases shall come up, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
daß ihre Erschlagenen unbestattet hingeworfen werden und der Modergeruch von ihren Leichen aufsteigt, daß die Berge von ihrem Blut zerfließen (und alle Hügel zergehen).
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fade away, as the leaf fadeth from off the vine, and as a fading [leaf] from the fig tree.
Auch das gesamte (Sternen-) Heer des Himmels wird sich auflösen und der Himmel sich zusammenrollen wie eine Schriftrolle, und sein ganzes Heer wird zerfallen, wie das Laub vom Weinstock abwelkt und wie dürre Blätter vom Feigenbaum abfallen.
5 For my sword hath drunk its fill in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
Wenn mein Schwert sich im Himmel berauscht hat, siehe, dann soll es auf Edom herabfahren und auf das von mir dem Untergang geweihte Volk zum Strafgericht.
6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Ein Schwert führt der HERR, das trieft von Blut, das ist gesättigt von Fett, vom Blut der Lämmer und Böcke, vom Nierenfett der Widder; denn ein Opferfest wird der HERR in Bozra abhalten und ein großes Schlachten im Lande Edom.
7 And the wild-oxen shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be drunken with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
Da stürzen Wildochsen samt jenen nieder und Farren samt Maststieren; und ihr Land trinkt sich satt an Blut, und ihr Erdreich wird mit Fett gedüngt;
8 For it is the day of the LORD’S vengeance, the year of recompence in the controversy of Zion.
denn ein Tag der Rache ist für den HERRN da, ein Jahr der Vergeltung für den Streit mit Zion.
9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
Da werden Edoms Bäche sich in Pech verwandeln und sein Staub in Schwefel, und sein Land soll zu brennendem Pech werden;
10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
bei Tag und bei Nacht erlischt es nicht, in Ewigkeit steigt der Rauch von ihm auf, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht bleibt es verödet liegen, in ewigen Zeiten soll niemand sein, der es durchwandert.
11 But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it; and the owl and the raven shall dwell therein: and he shall stretch over it the line of confusion, and the plummet of emptiness.
Vielmehr Pelikan und Igel werden es in Besitz nehmen, Eulen und Raben darin hausen; und der HERR wird darüber ausspannen die Meßschnur der Verödung und die Bleilote der Leere (aufhängen).
12 They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all her princes shall be nothing.
Von seinen Alt-Adeligen wird keiner mehr das Königtum ausrufen, und alle seine Fürsten werden verschwunden sein.
13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.
In seinen Palästen werden Dornen aufschießen, Unkraut und Gestrüpp in seinen Burgen aufwachsen, und es wird eine Behausung für Schakale sein, ein Bezirk für Strauße;
14 And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest.
Wüstenwölfe werden mit wilden Hunden zusammentreffen und Feldteufel einander begegnen; nur dort halten die Nachtgespenster Rast und machen sich’s dort behaglich.
15 There shall the arrowsnake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: yea, there shall the kites be gathered, every one with her mate.
Dorthin verlegt die Pfeilschlange ihr Nest und legt Eier, brütet sie aus und hegt die Brut im Schatten; nur dort versammeln sich die Geier, einer zum andern.
16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall be missing, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
Forscht im Buch des HERRN nach und lest darin: kein einziger von diesen bleibt aus, keines vermißt seinen Genossen; denn der Mund des HERRN hat es geboten, und sein Wille hat sie zusammengebracht.
17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
Er selbst hat ihnen das Los geworfen, und seine Hand hat ihnen das Land nach der Meßschnur zugeteilt: auf ewig sollen sie es inne haben, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht darin hausen.
