Isaiah 31
1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and stay on horses; and trust in chariots, because they are many, and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Ay! de los que bajan a Egipto en busca de ayuda, y que ponen su fe en los caballos; buscando carruajes de guerra para la salvación, debido a su multitud; en sus caballos porque son muy fuertes; pero no están mirando al Santo de Israel, ni están volviendo sus corazones al Señor;
2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evil-doers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
Aunque es sabio y capaz de enviar el mal, su propósito no cambiará; pero irá contra la casa de los malhechores, y contra aquellos a quienes están buscando ayuda.
3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit: and when the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall stumble, and he that is holpen shall fall, and they all shall fail together.
Porque los egipcios son hombres, y no Dios; y sus caballos son carne, y no espíritu; y cuando se extienda la mano del Señor, el ayudante y el que recibe ayuda descenderán juntos.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto me, Like as when the lion growleth and the young lion over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds be called forth against him, he will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight upon mount Zion, and upon the hill thereof.
Porque el Señor me dijo: Como león y su cachorro, hace un ruido de enojo sobre su comida, y si una banda de pastores sale contra él, no temerá a sus voces, o renuncia a su comida por su ruido; así el Señor de los ejércitos bajará para hacer la guerra contra el monte Sión y su colina.
5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts protect Jerusalem; he will protect and deliver [it], he will pass over and preserve [it].
Como los pájaros con las alas extendidas, así el Señor de los ejércitos será una cubierta para Jerusalén; Él será un amparo y salvación para ellos, pasando la guardará del peligro.
6 Turn ye unto him from whom ye have deeply revolted, O children of Israel.
Regresa con él con quien los hijos de Israel profundamente se rebelaron.
7 For in that day they shall cast away every man his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
Porque en ese día todos entregarán sus imágenes de plata y oro, que sus propias manos pecadoras fabricaron.
8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of men, shall devour him: and he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall become tributary.
Entonces los asirios bajarán por la espada, pero no del hombre; La espada, y no la de los hombres, será la causa de su destrucción: él huirá de la espada y sus jóvenes serán sometidos a trabajos forzados.
9 And his rock shall pass away by reason of terror, and his princes shall be dismayed at the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
Y por causa de su temor su fortaleza pasará, y sus jefes se espantarán ante su bandera, dice el Señor, cuyo fuego está en Sión, y su horno en Jerusalén.
