Isaiah 30
1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Ai dos filhos rebeldes!, diz o SENHOR, Eles, que tomam conselho, mas não de mim; que fazem um pacto, porém sem o meu Espírito, para acrescentarem pecado sobre pecado.
2 that walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
Eles, que descem ao Egito sem me perguntarem, para se fortificarem com a força de Faraó, e confiarem estar protegidos na sombra do Egito.
3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
Entretanto, a força de Faraó se tornará vossa vergonha, e a confiança na sombra do Egito [será] humilhação.
4 For his princes are at Zoan, and his ambassadors are come to Hanes.
Ainda que seus príncipes estejam em Zoã, e seus embaixadores tenham chegado a Hanes,
5 They shall all be ashamed of a people that cannot profit them, that are not an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
Todos se envergonharão por causa de um povo que em nada lhes será útil, nem de ajuda, nem de proveito; mas, ao invés disso, [lhes será] vergonha e humilhação.
6 The burden of the beasts of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit [them].
Revelação sobre os animais selvagens do deserto de Negueve: Por entre uma terra da aflição e da angústia, de onde [vem] o leão forte, o leão velho, a cobra e a serpente voadora, eles levam seus bens nas costas de jumentos, e seus tesouros sobre corcovas de camelos, a um povo que em nada [lhes] será útil.
7 For Egypt helpeth in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I called her Rahab that sitteth still.
Porque o Egito [os] ajudará em vão, e inutilmente. Por isso, a este eu tenho chamado: “Raabe, que nada faz”.
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever.
Agora vai, [e] escreve isso numa placa na presença deles, e registra isso num livro, para que dure até o último dia, para todo o sempre.
9 For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
Porque eles são um povo rebelde, são filhos mentirosos, filhos que não querem ouvir a Lei do SENHOR.
10 which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
Que dizem aos videntes: Não tenhais visões, e aos profetas: Não nos reveleis o que é correto! Dizei coisas agradáveis para nós, revelai ilusões!
11 get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
Desviai-vos do caminho, afastai-vos da vereda! Deixai de nos fazer deparar com o Santo de Israel!
12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon;
Portanto, assim diz o Santo de Israel: Visto que rejeitais esta palavra, e vós confiais na opressão e no engano, e nisto vos apoiais,
13 therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
por isso esta maldade vos será como uma rachadura, prestes a cair, que já encurva um alto muro, cuja queda será repentina e rápida.
14 And he shall break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing; so that there shall not be found among the pieces thereof a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the cistern.
E será quebrado como a quebra de um vaso de oleiro, tão esmigalhado que nada se preservará; não se poderá achar um caco sequer entre seus pedacinhos que sirva para transportar brasas de uma fogueira, ou tirar água de um tanque.
15 For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
Pois assim diz o Senhor DEUS, o Santo de Israel: Com arrependimento e descanso, ficaríeis livres; com calma e confiança teríeis força; mas vós não quisestes.
16 but ye said, No, for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
Ao invés disso, dissestes: Não, é melhor fugirmos sobre cavalos. Cavalgaremos em rápidos cavalos! Por isso vós fugireis, mas vossos perseguidores serão [ainda mais] rápidos.
17 One thousand [shall flee] at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.
Ao grito de um, mil [fugirão], [e] ao grito de cinco, [todos] vós fugireis; até que sejais deixados [solitários], como um mastro no cume do monte, como uma bandeira num morro.
18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment; blessed are all they that wait for him.
Por isso o SENHOR esperará para ter piedade de vós; e por isso ele se exaltará, para se compadecer de vós; pois o SENHOR é Deus de juízo; bem-aventurados todos os que nele esperam.
19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more; he will surely be gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear, he will answer thee.
Pois o povo habitará em Sião, em Jerusalém; certamente não continuarás a chorar; ele terá piedade de ti sob a voz do teu clamor; quando a ouvir, ele te responderá.
20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be hidden any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
De fato, o Senhor vos dará pão de angústia, e água de opressão; porém teus instrutores nunca mais se esconderão de ti; ao contrário, teus olhos verão os teus instrutores.
21 and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it; when ye turn to the right hand and when e turn to the left.
E quando virardes para a direita ou para a esquerda, teus ouvidos ouvirão a palavra [do que] está atrás de ti, dizendo: Este é o caminho; andai por ele.
22 And ye shall defile the overlaying of thy graven images of silver, and the plating of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as an unclean thing; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
E considerarás tuas esculturas recobertas de prata e tuas imagens revestidas de ouro como impuras; tu as jogarás fora como se fossem panos imundos, e dirás a cada uma delas: Fora daqui!
23 And he shall give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the ground, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
Então ele dará chuva sobre tuas sementes que tu tiveres semeado a terra, assim como pão produzido da terra; e esta será fértil e farta; naquele dia teu gado pastará em grandes pastos.
24 the oxen likewise and the young asses that till the ground shall eat savoury provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
Os bois e os jumentos que lavram a terra comerão forragem de boa qualidade, limpa com a pá e o forcado.
25 And there shall be upon every lofty mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers [and] streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
E em todo monte alto e todo morro elevado haverá ribeiros e correntes de águas, no dia da grande matança, quando as torres caírem.
26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the hurt of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
E a luz da lua será como a luz do sol, e a luz do sol será sete vezes maior, como a luz de sete dias, quando o SENHOR atar a fratura de seu povo, e curar a chaga de sua ferida.
27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire:
Eis que o nome do SENHOR vem de longe; sua ira está ardendo, e a carga é pesada; seus lábios estão cheios de ira, e sua língua está como um fogo consumidor.
28 and his breath is as an overflowing stream, that reacheth even unto the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and a bridle that causeth to err [shall be] in the jaws of the peoples.
E seu sopro como um rio que inunda, chegando até o pescoço, para sacudir as nações com a peneira da inutilidade; e um freio nos queixos dos povos [os] fará andar perdidos.
29 Ye shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel.
Um cântico haverá entre vós, tal como na noite em que se santifica uma festa; haverá também alegria de coração, tal como aquele que anda com uma flauta para vir ao monte do SENHOR, à Rocha de Israel.
30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of [his] anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, and tempest, and hailstones.
E o SENHOR fará com que ouçam a glória de sua voz, e com que vejam a descida de seu braço, com indignação de ira, e labareda de fogo consumidor, raios, tempestade, e pedra de granizo.
31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be broken in pieces, which smote with a rod.
Pois com a voz do SENHOR, a Assíria será feita em pedaços; ele [a] ferirá com a vara.
32 And every stroke of the appointed staff, which the LORD shall lay upon him, shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with them.
E será que, em todos os golpes do bordão da firmeza que o SENHOR lhe der, será [acompanhado] de tamborins e harpas; e com ataques agitados ele a atacará.
33 For a Topheth is prepared of old; yea, for the king it is made ready; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
Pois Tofete já está preparada desde muito tempo, e já está pronta para o rei; ele a fez profunda e larga; sua pira tem muito fogo e lenha; o sopro do SENHOR, como uma correnteza de enxofre, a acenderá.
