Isaiah 29
1 Ho Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! add ye year to year; let the feasts come round:
Ai d'Ariel, Ariel, a cidade em que David assentou o seu arraial! accrescentae anno a anno, e sacrifiquem sacrificios festivos.
2 then will I distress Ariel, and there shall be mourning and lamentation: and she shall be unto me as Ariel.
Comtudo porei a Ariel em aperto, e haverá pranto e tristeza: e a cidade me será como Ariel.
3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a fort, and I will raise siege works against thee.
Porque te cercarei com o meu arraial, e te sitiarei com baluartes, e levantarei tranqueiras contra ti.
4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust; and thy voice shall be as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
Então serás abatida, fallarás desde debaixo da terra, e a tua falla desde o pó sairá fraca, e será a tua voz desde debaixo da terra, como a d'um feiticeiro, e a tua falla assobiará desde debaixo do pó.
5 But the multitude of thy foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
E a multidão dos teus inimigos será como o pó miudo, e a multidão dos tyrannos como a pragana que passa, e n'um momento repentino succederá.
6 She shall be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.
Do Senhor dos Exercitos serás visitada com trovões, e com terremotos, e grande arroido com tufão de vento, e tempestade, e labareda de fogo consumidor.
7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her strong hold, and that distress her, shall be as a dream, a vision of the night.
E como o sonho de visão de noite, assim será a multidão de todas as nações que pelejarão contra Ariel, como tambem todos os que pelejarão contra ella e contra os seus muros, e a porão em aperto.
8 And it shall be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
Será tambem como o faminto que sonha, e eis-que lhe parece que come, porém, acordando, se acha a sua alma vazia, ou como o sequioso que sonha, e eis-que lhe parece que bebe, porém, acordando, eis-que ainda desfallecido se acha, e a sua alma com sêde: assim será toda a multidão das nações, que pelejarem contra o monte de Sião
9 Tarry ye and wonder, take your pleasure and be blind: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
Tardam, porém, pelo que vos maravilhae, andam folgando, portanto clamae: bebados estão, mas não de vinho, andam titubeando, mas não de bebida forte.
10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets; and your heads, the seers, hath he covered.
Porque o Senhor derramou sobre vós um espirito de profundo somno, e fechou os vossos olhos; vendou os prophetas, e os vossos cabeças, e os videntes.
11 And all vision is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot, for it is sealed:
Pelo que toda a visão vos é como as palavras d'um livro sellado que se dá ao que sabe ler, dizendo: Ora lê isto: e elle dirá: Não posso, porque está sellado.
12 and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Ou dá-se o livro ao que não sabe lêr, dizendo: Ora lê isto: e elle dirá: Não sei ler.
13 And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh [unto me], and with their mouth and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught [them]:
Porque o Senhor disse: Pois que este povo se chega para mim com a sua bocca, e com os seus labios me honra, porém o seu coração afugenta para longe de mim e o seu temor para comigo consiste só em mandamentos de homens, em que foi instruido;
14 therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
Portanto eis-que continuarei a fazer uma obra maravilhosa no meio d'este povo; uma obra maravilhosa e um assombro, porque a sabedoria dos seus sabios perecerá, e o entendimento dos seus prudentes se esconderá.
15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
Ai dos que querem esconder profundamente o conselho do Senhor, e fazem as suas obras ás escuras, e dizem: Quem nos vê? e quem nos conhece?
16 Ye turn things upside down! Shall the potter be counted as clay; that the thing made should say of him that made it, He made me not; or the thing framed say of him that framed it, He hath no understanding?
Vossa perversidade é, como se o oleiro fosse egual ao barro, e a obra dissesse ao seu artifice: Não me fez; e o vaso formado dissesse do seu oleiro: Nada sabe.
17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be counted for a forest?
Porventura não se converterá o Libano, n'um breve momento, em campo fertil? e o campo fertil não se reputará por um bosque?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
E n'aquelle dia os surdos ouvirão as palavras do livro, e d'entre a escuridão e d'entre as trevas as verão os olhos dos cegos.
19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
E os mansos terão gozo sobre gozo no Senhor; e os necessitados entre os homens se alegrarão no sancto de Israel:
20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner ceaseth, and all they that watch for iniquity are cut off:
Porque o tyranno fenece, e se consome o escarnecedor, e todos os que se dão á iniquidade são extirpados;
21 that make a man an offender in a cause, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just with a thing of nought.
Os que fazem culpado ao homem por uma palavra, e armam laços ao que os reprehende na porta, e os que lançam o justo para o deserto.
22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
Portanto assim diz o Senhor, que remiu a Abrahão, ácerca da casa de Jacob: Jacob não será agora mais envergonhado, nem agora se descorará mais a sua face
23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name; yea, they shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall stand in awe of the God of Israel.
Mas vendo elle a seus filhos, a obra das minhas mãos, no meio d'elle, então sanctificarão o meu nome, e sanctificarão ao Sancto de Jacob, e temerão ao Deus de Israel.
24 They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall learn doctrine.
E os errados de espirito virão a ter entendimento, e os murmuradores aprenderão doutrina.
