Isaiah 28
1 Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine!
Ai da corôa de soberba dos bebados de Ephraim, cujo glorioso ornamento é como a flor que cae, que está sobre a cabeça do fertil valle dos feridos do vinho.
2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one; as a tempest of hail, a destroying storm, as a tempest of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with the hand.
Eis que o Senhor tem um valente e poderoso que como um alagamento de saraiva, tormenta de destruição, e como um alagamento de impetuosas aguas que trasbordam, com a mão derribará por terra.
3 The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under foot:
A corôa de soberba dos bebados de Ephraim será pisada aos pés.
4 and the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be as the firstripe fig before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
E a flor caida do seu glorioso ornamento, que está sobre a cabeça do fertil valle, será como a bêbera antes do verão, que, vendo a alguem, e tendo-a ainda na mão, a engole.
5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people:
N'aquelle dia o Senhor dos Exercitos será por corôa gloriosa, e por grinalda formosa, para os residuos de seu povo;
6 and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn back the battle at the gate.
E por espirito de juizo, para o que se assenta a julgar, e por fortaleza para os que fazem retirar a peleja até á porta.
7 But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are gone astray; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
Mas tambem estes erram com o vinho e com a bebida forte se desencaminham: até o sacerdote e o propheta erram por causa da bebida forte; são devorados do vinho; se desencaminham com a bebida forte, andam errados na visão, e tropeçam no juizo.
8 For all tables are full of vomit [and] filthiness, [so that there is] no place [clean].
Porque todas as suas mesas estão cheias de vomitos e sujidade, até não haver mais logar limpo.
9 Whom will he teach knowledge? and whom will he make to understand the message? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?
A quem pois se ensinaria a sciencia? e a quem se daria a entender o que se ouviu? ao desmamado do leite, e ao arrancado dos peitos.
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little.
Porque é mandamento, sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra: um pouco aqui, um pouco ali.
11 Nay, but by [men of] strange lips and with another tongue will he speak to this people:
Pelo que por labios de gago, e por outra lingua, fallará a este povo.
12 to whom he said, This is the rest, give ye rest to him that is weary; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Ao qual disse: Este é o descanço, dae descanço ao cançado, e este é o refrigerio: porém não quizeram ouvir.
13 Therefore shall the word of the LORD be unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Assim pois a palavra do Senhor lhes será mandamento sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra, um pouco aqui, um pouco ali; para que vão, e caiam para traz, e se quebrantem, e se enlacem, e sejam presos.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem:
Pelo que ouvi a palavra do Senhor, homens escarnecedores, que dominam este povo, que está em Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Sheol h7585)
Porquanto dizeis: Fizemos concerto com a morte, e com o inferno fizemos alliança; quando passar o diluvio do açoite, não chegará a nós, porque pozemos a mentira por nosso refugio, e debaixo da falsidade nos escondemos. (Sheol h7585)
16 therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone] of sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Portanto assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis que eu fundo em Sião uma pedra, uma pedra já provada, pedra preciosa de esquina, que está bem firme e fundada: aquelle que crer não se apresse.
17 And I will make judgment the line, and righteousness the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
E regrarei o juizo ao cordel, e a justiça ao nivel, e a saraiva varrerá o refugio da mentira, e as aguas cobrirão o esconderijo.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
E o vosso concerto com a morte se annulará; e a vossa alliança com o inferno não subsistirá; e, quando o diluvio do açoite passar, então sereis d'elle pisados. (Sheol h7585)
19 As often as it passeth through, it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night: and it shall be nought but terror to understand the message.
Desde que começa a passar, vos arrebatará, porque todas as manhãs passará, de dia e de noite: e será que sómente o ouvir a fama causará grande turbação.
20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it; and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
Porque a cama será tão curta que ninguem se poderá estender n'ella; e o cobertor tão estreito que se não possa cobrir com elle
21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
Porque o Senhor se levantará como no monte de Perazim, e se irará, como no valle de Gibeon, para fazer a sua obra, a sua estranha obra, e para executar o seu acto, o seu estranho acto.
22 Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bands be made strong: for a consummation, and that determined, have I heard from the Lord, the LORD of hosts, upon the whole earth.
Agora pois mais não escarneçaes, para que vossas ataduras se não façam mais fortes: porque já ao Senhor Jehovah dos Exercitos ouvi fallar d'uma destruição, e essa já está determinada sobre toda a terra.
23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
Inclinae os ouvidos, e ouvi a minha voz: attendei bem, e ouvi o meu discurso.
24 Doth the plowman plow continually to sow? doth he [continually] open and break the clods of his ground?
Porventura lavra todo o dia o lavrador, para semear? ou abre e desterroa todo o dia a sua terra?
25 When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and put in the wheat in rows and the barley in the appointed place and the spelt in the border thereof?
Porventura não é assim? quando já tem gradado a sua superficie, então esparge n'ella ervilhaca, e derrama cominho: ou lança n'ella do melhor trigo, ou cevada escolhida, ou centeio, cada qual no seu logar.
26 For his God doth instruct him aright, [and] doth teach him.
O seu Deus o ensina, e o instrue ácerca do que ha de fazer.
27 For the fitches are not threshed with a sharp [threshing] instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
Porque a ervilhaca não se trilha com trilho, nem sobre o cominho passa roda de carro; mas com uma vara se sacode a ervilhaca, e o cominho com um páu.
28 Bread [corn] is ground; for he will not ever be threshing it: and though the wheel of his cart and his horses scatter it, he doth not grind it.
O trigo é esmiuçado, mas não se trilha continuamente, nem se esmiuça com as rodas do seu carro, nem se quebranta com os seus cavallos.
29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
Até isto procede do Senhor dos Exercitos; porque é maravilhoso em conselho e grande em obra.
