Isaiah 28
1 Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine!
Wehe der stolzen Krone der Trunkenbolde Ephraims, der welken Blume seines herrlichen Schmucks oben über dem fetten Tal der vom Wein Überwältigten!
2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one; as a tempest of hail, a destroying storm, as a tempest of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with the hand.
Siehe, ein Starker und Gewaltiger vom Herrn [kommt] wie ein Hagelwetter, wie ein verderblicher Sturm, wie ein Wolkenbruch mit mächtiger Wasserflut; er wirft sie zu Boden mit Macht.
3 The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under foot:
Mit Füßen wird zertreten die stolze Krone der Trunkenbolde Ephraims.
4 and the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be as the firstripe fig before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
Der welken Blume seines herrlichen Schmucks oben über einem fetten Tale wird es ergehen wie einer Frühfeige vor der Ernte, die, wer sie sieht, alsbald verschlingt, wenn er sie kaum in die Hand genommen hat.
5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people:
Zu jener Zeit wird der HERR der Heerscharen eine zierliche Krone und ein herrlicher Kranz sein dem Überrest seines Volkes,
6 and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn back the battle at the gate.
denen, welche zu Gerichte sitzen, ein Geist des Rechts, und denen, welche den Angriff vom Tore abschlagen, eine Stärke.
7 But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are gone astray; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
Aber auch diese taumeln vom Wein und schwanken von starkem Getränk; Priester und Prophet sind von starkem Getränk berauscht, vom Wein benebelt, verleitet durch berauschende Getränke; sie sehen nicht mehr klar, urteilen unsicher.
8 For all tables are full of vomit [and] filthiness, [so that there is] no place [clean].
Ja, alle Tische sind besudelt mit unflätigem Gespei, so daß kein Platz mehr ist.
9 Whom will he teach knowledge? and whom will he make to understand the message? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?
Wem soll man Erkenntnis beibringen, wem die Botschaft erläutern? Denen, die von der Milch entwöhnt, von den Brüsten abgesetzt sind?
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little.
Weil sie sagen: «Vorschrift auf Vorschrift, Vorschrift auf Vorschrift; Satzung auf Satzung, Satzung auf Satzung, hier ein wenig, da ein wenig»,
11 Nay, but by [men of] strange lips and with another tongue will he speak to this people:
so wird auch er zu diesem Volk mit stammelnden Lippen und in fremder Sprache reden,
12 to whom he said, This is the rest, give ye rest to him that is weary; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
er, der zu ihnen gesagt hatte: «Das ist die Ruhe! Erquicket den Müden! Und das ist die Erholung», aber sie haben es nicht hören wollen.
13 Therefore shall the word of the LORD be unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Und so soll auch ihnen das Wort des HERRN werden: «Vorschrift auf Vorschrift, Vorschrift auf Vorschrift; Satzung auf Satzung, Satzung auf Satzung, hier ein wenig, da ein wenig», damit sie hingehen, rücklings fallen, zerbrochen, verstrickt und gefangen werden.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem:
Darum höret das Wort des HERRN, ihr Spötter, die ihr über dieses Volk herrscht, das zu Jerusalem ist.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Sheol h7585)
Weil ihr sprecht: «Wir haben mit dem Tode einen Bund und mit dem Totenreich einen Vertrag gemacht; wenn eine überschwemmende Flut daherkommt, wird sie nicht zu uns gelangen; denn wir haben Lüge zu unserer Zuflucht gemacht und in Betrug uns geborgen»; (Sheol h7585)
16 therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone] of sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
darum spricht Gott, der HERR, also: Siehe, ich lege in Zion einen Stein, einen bewährten Stein, einen köstlichen Eckstein, der wohlgegründet ist; wer traut, der flieht nicht!
17 And I will make judgment the line, and righteousness the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Und ich will das Recht zur Richtschnur und die Gerechtigkeit zur Waage machen; der Hagel wird eure Lügenzuflucht wegreißen, und die Wasser sollen euren Bergungsort wegschwemmen;
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
daß euer Bund mit dem Tode abgetan werde und euer Vertrag mit dem Totenreich nicht bestehe. Wenn die überschwemmende Flut daherfährt, so wird sie über euch weggehen, (Sheol h7585)
19 As often as it passeth through, it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night: and it shall be nought but terror to understand the message.
so oft sie einherfährt, wird sie euch packen; ja, sie wird alle Morgen daherkommen, bei Tag und bei Nacht; und es wird eitel Schrecken sein, ihre Kunde zu vernehmen!
20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it; and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
Denn das Bett wird so eng sein, daß man sich nicht darauf ausstrecken kann, und die Decke so schmal, daß man sich nicht darein wickeln kann.
21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
Denn der HERR wird aufstehen wie auf dem Berge Perazim und wird zürnen wie im Tal zu Gibeon, um sein Geschäft, ja sein fremdartiges Geschäft zu verrichten, und sein Werk, ja sein unerhörtes Werk zu vollbringen.
22 Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bands be made strong: for a consummation, and that determined, have I heard from the Lord, the LORD of hosts, upon the whole earth.
Und nun treibt keinen Spott, daß eure Bande nicht fester werden; denn ich habe von dem Herrn, dem HERRN der Heerscharen, gehört, daß Vertilgung und Strafgericht über das ganze Land beschlossen sei.
23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
Vernehmt und höret meine Stimme! Merket auf und höret meine Rede!
24 Doth the plowman plow continually to sow? doth he [continually] open and break the clods of his ground?
Pflügt der Ackersmann allezeit zur Saat? Furcht und eggt er seinen Acker immerdar?
25 When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and put in the wheat in rows and the barley in the appointed place and the spelt in the border thereof?
Ist's nicht also: Wenn er ihn geebnet hat, so streut er Dill aus und sät Kümmel, wirft Weizen in Reihen und Gerste auf das abgesteckte Feld und Spelt an seinen Rand?
26 For his God doth instruct him aright, [and] doth teach him.
Und diese Ordnung lehrte ihn sein Gott, er zeigte ihm,
27 For the fitches are not threshed with a sharp [threshing] instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
daß man den Dill nicht mit dem Dreschwagen drischt und das Wagenrad nicht über den Kümmel führt; sondern Dill wird mit einem Stabe ausgeklopft und Kümmel mit einer Rute.
28 Bread [corn] is ground; for he will not ever be threshing it: and though the wheel of his cart and his horses scatter it, he doth not grind it.
Getreide wird ausgetreten; doch nicht immerdar drischt man es aus, indem man das Wagenrad und seine Pferde darüber jagt; man zermalmt es nicht.
29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
Auch vom HERRN der Heerscharen geht dergleichen aus; sein Rat ist wunderbar, großartig die Ausführung!
