Isaiah 25
1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, [even] counsels of old, in faithfulness [and] truth.
Yahvé, tú eres mi Dios. Te exaltaré. Alabaré tu nombre, porque has hecho cosas maravillosas, cosas planeadas hace mucho tiempo, con total fidelidad y verdad.
2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
Porque has convertido una ciudad en un montón, una ciudad fortificada en una ruina, un palacio de extraños en una ciudad. Nunca se construirá.
3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
Por eso te glorificará un pueblo fuerte. Una ciudad de naciones imponentes te temerá.
4 For thou hast been a strong hold to the poor, a strong hold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
Porque has sido una fortaleza para el pobre, un baluarte para el necesitado en su angustia, un refugio contra la tormenta, una sombra contra el calor, cuando la ráfaga de los temibles es como una tormenta contra el muro.
5 As the heat in a dry place shalt thou bring down the noise of strangers; as the heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
Como el calor en un lugar seco, harás caer el ruido de los extraños; como el calor a la sombra de una nube, el canto de los temibles será abatido.
6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
En este monte, el Señor de los Ejércitos hará a todos los pueblos un festín de carne selecta, un festín de vinos selectos, de carne selecta llena de tuétano, de vinos selectos bien refinados.
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering that is cast over all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations.
Él destruirá en este monte la superficie de la cubierta que cubre a todos los pueblos, y el velo que se extiende sobre todas las naciones.
8 He hath swallowed up death for ever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
¡Él se ha tragado la muerte para siempre! El Señor Yahvé enjugará las lágrimas de todos los rostros. Quitará el oprobio de su pueblo de toda la tierra, porque Yahvé lo ha dicho.
9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
En aquel día se dirá: “¡He aquí nuestro Dios! ¡Lo hemos esperado, y él nos salvará! ¡Este es Yahvé! Lo hemos esperado. Nos alegraremos y nos regocijaremos en su salvación”.
10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill.
Porque la mano de Yahvé se posará en este monte. Moab será pisoteado en su lugar, como se pisotea la paja en el agua del estercolero.
11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth [his hands] to swim: and he shall lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands.
Extenderá sus manos en medio de él, como el que nada extiende las manos para nadar, pero su orgullo será humillado junto con el oficio de sus manos.
12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.
Él ha derribado la alta fortaleza de tus murallas, la ha rebajado y la ha llevado a la tierra, hasta el polvo.
