Isaiah 24
1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
૧જુઓ! યહોવાહ પૃથ્વીને ખાલી કરીને તેને ઉજ્જડ કરે છે, તેને ઉથલાવીને તેના રહેવાસીઓને વેરવિખેર કરી નાખે છે.
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
૨જેવી લોકની, તેવી યાજકની; જેવી ચાકરની, તેવી જ તેના શેઠની; જેવી દાસીની, તેવી જ તેની શેઠાણીની; જેવી ખરીદનારની, તેવી જ વેચનારની; જેવું ઉછીનું આપનારની, તેવી જ લેનારની; જેવી લેણદારની, તેવી જ દેણદારની સ્થિતિ થશે.
3 The earth shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled; for the LORD hath spoken this word.
૩પૃથ્વી સંપૂર્ણ ખાલી કરાશે અને તદ્દન ઉજ્જડ કરાશે, કેમ કે યહોવાહ આ વચન બોલ્યા છે.
4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the lofty people of the earth do languish.
૪પૃથ્વી સુકાઈ જાય છે અને જીર્ણ થઈ જાય છે, દુનિયા સુકાઈને સંકોચાઈ જાય છે, પૃથ્વીના અગ્રણી લોકો ક્ષીણ થતા જાય છે.
5 The earth also is polluted under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
૫પૃથ્વી તેના રહેવાસીઓનાં પાપ રૂપી ઉલ્લંઘનોને લીધે, વિધાનનો અનાદર કર્યાને લીધે ભ્રષ્ટ થઈ છે અને તેણે સનાતન કરારનો ભંગ કર્યો છે.
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are found guilty: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
૬તેથી શાપ પૃથ્વીને ગળી જાય છે અને તેના રહેવાસીઓ અપરાધી ઠર્યા છે. પૃથ્વીના રહેવાસીઓ બળીને ભસ્મ થઈ ગયા છે અને થોડાં જ માણસો બાકી રહ્યાં છે.
7 The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.
૭નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ સુકાઈ જાય છે, દ્રાક્ષાવેલો કરમાઈ જાય છે, જેઓ મોજ માણતા હતા તેઓ નિસાસા નાખે છે.
8 The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.
૮ખંજરીના હર્ષનો અવાજ બંધ થાય છે અને હર્ષ કરનારાનો અવાજ સંભળાતો નથી; વીણાનો હર્ષ બંધ પડે છે.
9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.
૯તેઓ ગાયન કરતાં કરતાં દ્રાક્ષારસ પીશે નહિ અને દારૂ પીનારાને તે કડવો લાગશે.
10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
૧૦ભારે અવ્યવસ્થાનું નગર તૂટી પડ્યું છે; દરેક ઘરો બંધ અને ખાલી કરવામાં આવ્યા છે.
11 There is a crying in the streets because of the wine; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.
૧૧રસ્તાઓમાં દ્રાક્ષારસને માટે બૂમ પડે છે; સર્વ હર્ષ ઓસરી ગયેલો છે, પૃથ્વી પરથી આનંદ લોપ થયો છે.
12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
૧૨નગરમાં પાયમાલી થઈ રહી છે અને દરવાજા તોડીને વિનાશ થઈ રહ્યો છે.
13 For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the grape gleanings when the vintage is done.
૧૩પૃથ્વીમાં લોકો ઝુડાયેલા જૈતૂન વૃક્ષ જેવા, તથા દ્રાક્ષાને વીણી લીધા પછી બાકી રહેલા દ્રાક્ષાવેલા જેવા થશે.
14 These shall lift up their voice, they shall shout; for the majesty of the LORD they cry aloud from the sea.
૧૪તેઓ મોટે સાદે બૂમ પાડશે અને યહોવાહના મહિમાને લીધે આનંદથી સમુદ્રને સામે પારથી પોકારશે.
15 Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the east, even the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the isles of the sea.
૧૫તેથી પૂર્વમાં યહોવાહનો મહિમા ગાઓ અને સમુદ્રના બેટોમાં ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહના નામને મહિમા આપો.
16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
૧૬પૃથ્વીને છેડેથી આપણે, “ન્યાયીનો મહિમા થાઓ” એવાં ગીત સાંભળ્યાં છે. પણ મેં કહ્યું, “હું વેડફાઈ જાઉં છું, હું વેડફાઈ જાઉં છું, મને અફસોસ! ઠગનાર ઠગે છે; હા, ઠગનાર ઠગાઈ કરીને ઠગે છે.”
17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
૧૭હે પૃથ્વીવાસીઓ, ભય, ખાડો તથા ફાંદો તમારા પર આવી પડ્યો છે.
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
૧૮જે ભયના અવાજથી નાસશે તે ખાડામાં પડશે અને જે ખાડામાંથી બહાર નીકળશે તે ફાંદામાં પડશે. આકાશની બારીઓ ખોલવામાં આવશે અને પૃથ્વીના પાયા હલાવવામાં આવશે.
19 The earth is utterly broken, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
૧૯પૃથ્વી તદ્દન તૂટી ગયેલી છે, પૃથ્વીના ચૂરેચૂરા કરવામાં આવશે; પૃથ્વીને હિંસક રીતે હલાવવામાં આવશે.
20 The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall be moved to and fro like a hut; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again.
૨૦પૃથ્વી પીધેલાની જેમ લથડિયાં ખાશે અને ઝૂંપડીની જેમ આમતેમ હાલી જશે. તેનો અપરાધ તેના પર ભારરૂપ થઈ પડશે, તે પડશે અને ફરીથી ઊઠશે નહિ.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
૨૧તે દિવસે યહોવાહ ઉચ્ચસ્થાનના સૈન્યને આકાશમાં તથા પૃથ્વી પર પૃથ્વીના રાજાઓને સજા કરશે.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
૨૨તેઓ કારાગૃહમાં બંદીવાનોને એકત્ર કરશે અને તેઓને બંદીખાનામાં બંધ કરવામાં આવશે; અને ઘણા દિવસો પછી તેઓનો ન્યાય કરવામાં આવશે.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
૨૩ત્યારે ચંદ્રને લાજ લાગશે અને સૂર્ય કલંકિત થશે કેમ કે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ સિયોન પર્વત પર તથા યરુશાલેમમાં રાજ કરશે અને તેના વડીલોની આગળ ગૌરવ બતાવશે.
