< Isaiah 23 >

1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.
Uthenga wonena za Turo: Lirani mofuwula, inu oyendetsa sitima za pa madzi za ku Tarisisi: pakuti mzinda wa Turo wawonongedwa ndipo mulibe nyumba kapena dooko. Zimenezi anazimva pochokera ku Kitimu.
2 Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
Khalani chete inu anthu okhala mʼmbali mwa nyanja, inu amalonda a ku Sidoni, iwe amene unalemera ndi anthu oyenda pa nyanja.
3 And on great waters the seed of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue; and she was the mart of nations.
Pa nyanja zazikulu panabwera tirigu wa ku Sihori; zokolola za ku Nailo, ndipo munachita malonda ndi anthu a mitundu ina.
4 Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, the strong hold of the sea; saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.
Chita manyazi, iwe Sidimu pakuti nyanja yayankhula, linga la ku nyanja (Turo) layankhula kuti, “Sindinamvepo zowawa za kubereka kapena kuberekapo mwana; sindinalerepo ana aamuna kapena kulera ana aakazi.”
5 When the report cometh to Egypt, they shall be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
Mawuwa akadzamveka ku Igupto, iwo adzachita mantha akadzamva kuti Turo wawonongeka.
6 Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.
Wolokerani ku Tarisisi, lirani mofuwula, inu anthu okhala mʼmbali mwa nyanja.
7 Is this your joyous [city], whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her afar off to sojourn?
Kodi uwu si mzinda wachisangalalo uja, mzinda wakalekale, umene anthu ake ankapita kukakhala ku mayiko akutali?
8 Who hath purposed this against Tyre, the crowning [city], whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?
Kodi ndani anakonza zimenezi kuti zigwere Turo, mzinda umene unakhazikitsa mizinda ina, mzinda umene amalonda ake ndi akalonga ndi otchuka pa dziko lapansi?
9 The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.
Yehova Wamphamvuzonse anakonza zimenezi kuti athetse kunyada kwawo ndi kutsitsa anthu otchuka a pa dziko lapansi.
10 Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no girdle [about thee] any more.
Mubalalike mʼdziko mwanu ngati mtsinje wa Nailo inu anthu a ku Tarisisi, pakuti mulibenso chokutetezani.
11 He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken the kingdoms: the LORD hath given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
Yehova watambasula dzanja lake kuloza ku nyanja ndipo wagwedeza maufumu ake. Iye walamula kuti Kanaani agwetse malinga ake.
12 And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; even there shalt thou have no rest.
Iye anati, “Simudzakondwanso konse, inu anthu opanikizidwa a ku Sidoni, tsopano wamphwanyidwa! “Ngakhale muwolokere ku Kitimu, kumeneko simukapezako mpumulo.”
13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans; this people is no more; the Assyrian hath appointed it for the beasts of the wilderness: they set up their towers, they overthrew the palaces thereof; he made it a ruin.
Onani dziko la Ababuloni, anthu amenewa tsopano atheratu! Asiriya asandutsa Turo kukhala malo a zirombo za ku chipululu; anamanga nsanja zawo za nkhondo, anagumula malinga ake ndipo anawasandutsa bwinja.
14 Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strong hold is laid waste.
Lirani mofuwula, inu anthu oyendetsa sitima za pa madzi za ku Tarisisi; chifukwa malinga ako agwetsedwa!
15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it shall be unto Tyre as in the song of the harlot.
Pa nthawi imeneyo Turo adzayiwalika pa zaka 70, amene ndi masiku a moyo wa mfumu. Koma potsiriza pa zaka 70 zimenezi, Turo adzakhala ngati mkazi wachiwerewere woyimbidwa mu nyimbo:
16 Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
“Tenga zeze wako uzungulire mzinda, iwe mkazi wachiwerewere woyiwalika; imba zeze mokometsera, imba nyimbo zambiri, kuti anthu akukumbukire.”
17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
Pakutha pa zaka 70, Yehova adzachitapo kanthu pa Turo. Iye adzabwerera ku ntchito yake yakale monga mkazi wachiwerewere ndipo adzachita zachiwerewere ndi maufumu onse a dziko lapansi.
18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
Koma phindu lake ndi malipiro ake adzazipereka kwa Yehova; sadzazikundika kapena kuzisunga. Phindu lake lidzapita kwa mtumiki wa Yehova kuti agule zakudya zambiri ndi zovala zokongola.
