Isaiah 18
1 Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
¡Ay de la tierra que hace sombra con las alas, que está tras los ríos de Etiopía!
2 that sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of papyrus upon the waters, [saying], Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, to a people terrible from their beginning onward; a nation that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers divide!
El que envía mensajeros por la mar, y en navíos de junco sobre las aguas: Andád ligeros mensajeros a la nación arrastrada, y repelada: al pueblo temeroso desde su principio, y después: nación harta de esperar, y hollada, cuya tierra destruyeron los ríos,
3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and ye dwellers on the earth, when an ensign is lifted up on the mountains, see ye; and when the trumpet is blown, hear ye.
Todos los moradores del mundo, y los vecinos de la tierra, cuando levantare bandera en los montes verla heis; y cuando tocare trompeta, oírla heis.
4 For thus hath the LORD said unto me, I will be still, and I will behold in my dwelling place; like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
Porque Jehová me dijo así: Reposarme he, y miraré desde mi morada: como sol claro después de la lluvia, y como nube cargada de rocío en el calor de la segada.
5 For afore the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becometh a ripening grape, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning-hooks, and the spreading branches shall he take away [and] cut down.
Porque antes de la siega, cuando el fruto fuere perfecto, y pasada la flor, los frutos fueren maduros, entonces podará con podaderas los ramitos, y cortará, y quitará las ramas.
6 They shall be left together unto the ravenous birds of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the ravenous birds shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
Y serán dejados todos a las aves de los montes, y a las bestias de la tierra: sobre ellos tendrán el verano las aves, e invernarán todas las bestias de la tierra.
7 In that time shall a present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people tall and smooth, and from a people terrible from their beginning onward; a nation that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers divide, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
En aquel tiempo será traído presente a Jehová de los ejércitos, el pueblo arrastrado, y repelado, el pueblo temeroso desde su principio, y después, gente harta de esperar, y hollada, cuya tierra destruyeron los ríos, al lugar del nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, al monte de Sión.
