Hosea 8
1 [SET] the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle [he cometh] against the house of the LORD: because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
“तुरही फुक्न तयार होओ! परमप्रभुको मन्दिरमाथि एउटा गरुड आउँदैछ, किनभने मानिसहरूले मेरो करार भङ्ग गरेका छन्, र मेरो व्यवस्थाको विरुद्ध बागी भएका छन् ।
2 They shall cry unto me, My God, we Israel know thee.
तिनीहरू मलाई पुकारा गर्छन्, ‘हे मेरा परमेश्वर, इस्राएलीमा हामी तपाईंलाई चिन्दछौं ।’
3 Israel hath cast off that which is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
तर इस्राएलले जे असल छ त्यो इन्कार गरेको छ, र सत्रुले त्यसलाई खेद्नेछ ।
4 They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
मैले नचुनेका राजाहरूलाई, तिनीहरूले स्थापित गरेका छन् । तिनीहरूले मलाई नसोधी राजकुमारहरू नियुक्त गरेका छन् । आफ्ना चाँदी र सुनले, आफ्नै निम्ति तिनीहरूले मूर्तिहरू बनाएका छन्, तर तिनीहरूको विनाश हुनलाई नै यसो भयो ।”
5 He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
“ए समारिया, तेरो बाछो तिरस्कृत भएको छ । यी मानिसहरूका विरूद्धमा मेरो क्रोध जल्दैछ । किनकि कहिलेसम्म तिनीहरू दोषी रहनेछन्?
6 For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God: yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
किनकि यो मूर्ति इस्राएलबाट आएको हो । एउटा कारिगरले त्यो बनायो । त्यो परमेश्वर होइन! सामरियाको बाछोलाइ टुक्रा-टुक्रा पारिनेछ ।
7 For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing corn; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
किनकि मानिसहरूले बतास छर्छन्, र आँधिको कटनी गर्छन् । खडा बालीमा बालाहरू छैनन्, र त्यसले केही फसल दिंदैन । त्यसमा फसल लाग्यो भने, परदेशीहरूले त्यो सखाप पार्नेछन् ।
8 Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
इस्राएल निलिएको छ । अब जातिहरूमा बिचमा ती काम नलाग्ने वस्तुझैं रहन्छन् ।
9 For they are gone up to Assyria, [like] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
किनकि वन-गधा एक्लै गएझैं, तिनीहरू अश्शूरसम्म गए । एफ्राइमले आफ्नै निम्ति प्रेमीहरू नियुक्त गरेको छ ।
10 Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them; and they begin to be minished by reason of the burden of the king of princes.
तिनीहरूले जातिहरूका बिचमा प्रेमीहरू नियुक्त गरे तापनि, अब तिनीहरूलाई म एकसाथ भेला गराउनेछु । राजकुमारहरूका राजाको दमनको कारणले, तिनीहरू दुःखी हुन लाग्नेछन् ।
11 Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars have been unto him to sin.
किनकि पापबलिहरूका निम्ति एफ्राइमले वेदीहरूको सङ्ख्या बढाएका छन्, तर झन् पाप गर्ने वेदीहरू ती भएका छन् ।
12 Though I write for him my law in ten thousand [precepts], they are counted as a strange thing.
तिनीहरूका निम्ति मैले आफ्नो व्यवस्थालाई दस हजारपल्ट लेखे पनि, तिनीहरूले त्यसलाई कुनै नयाँ कुराजस्तो गरी हेर्छन् ।
13 As for the sacrifices of mine offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt.
मेरा भेटीहरूका बलिदानको बारेमा, तिनीहरूले मासु चढाउँछन् र त्यो खान्छन्, तर म, परमप्रभुले त्यो ग्रहण गर्दिनँ । अब म तिनीहरूका अधर्मका बारेमा विचार गर्नेछु, र तिनीहरूका पापलाई दण्ड दिनेछु । तिनीहरू मिश्रदेशमा फर्कनेछन् ।
14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.
इस्राएलले आफ्ना सृष्टिकर्ता, मलाई बिर्सेको छ, र दरबारहरू बनाएका छ । यहूदाले धेरै सहरहरूलाई किल्लाबन्दी गरेको छ, तर त्यसका सहरहरूमा म आगो पठाउनेछु, र त्यसले उसका किल्लाहरू भष्म पार्नेछ ।
