Hosea 12
1 Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he continually multiplieth lies and desolation; and they make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.
Efraim se alimenta de vento, e persegue o vento oriental o dia todo; multiplica a mentira e a destruição; e fazem aliança com a Assíria, e azeite se leva ao Egito.
2 The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
O SENHOR também tem uma briga judicial com Judá, e punirá Jacó conforme seus caminhos; ele lhe retribuirá conforme seus atos.
3 In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he had power with God:
No ventre [da mãe] pegou pelo calcanhar de seu irmão, e em sua força lutou com Deus.
4 yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him at Beth-el, and there he spake with us;
Lutou com o anjo, e prevaleceu; chorou, e lhe suplicou; [em] Betel o achou, e ali falou conosco.
5 even the LORD, the God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
O próprio SENHOR, Deus dos exércitos; o SENHOR é seu memorial.
6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
Tu pois, converte-te a teu Deus; guarda tu a misericórdia e a justiça, e espera em teu Deus continuamente.
7 [He is] a trafficker, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
O mercador tem balança enganosa em sua mão, pois ama oprimir.
8 And Ephraim said, Surely I am become rich, I have found me wealth: in all my labours they shall find in me none iniquity that were sin.
E Efraim diz: Certamente eu sou rico; tenho obtido para mim muitos bens; [em] todo o meu trabalho ninguém pode achar em mim perversidade que seja pecado.
9 But I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt; I will yet again make thee to dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
Porém eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, desde a terra do Egito; eu ainda te farei morar em tendas, como nos dias solenes.
10 I have also spoken unto the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets have I used similitudes.
E falei aos profetas, e eu multipliquei a visão profética; e por meio dos profetas propus parábolas.
11 Is Gilead iniquity? they are altogether vanity; in Gilgal they sacrifice bullocks: yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field.
Visto que Gileade é injusta, certamente [seus moradores] são inúteis. Em Gilgal sacrificam bois, e até seus altares são como amontoados [de pedras] nos sulcos dos campos.
12 And Jacob fled into the field of Aram, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept [sheep].
Mas Jacó fugiu à terra de Arã, e Israel serviu em troca de uma mulher, e por uma mulher apascentou [ovelhas].
13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
Mas o SENHOR por um profeta fez subir a Israel do Egito, e por um profeta foi preservado.
14 Ephraim hath provoked to anger most bitterly: therefore shall his blood be left upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
[Porém] Efraim o ofendeu amargamente; por isso deixará [a culpa de] seus sangues sobre ele, e seu Senhor lhe retribuirá sua desonra.
