< Hebrews 6 >
1 Wherefore let us cease to speak of the first principles of Christ, and press on unto perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Nítorí náà, ó yẹ kí á fi àwọn ẹ̀kọ́ ìgbà tí a ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gba Kristi sílẹ̀, kí á tẹ̀síwájú nínú àwọn ẹ̀kọ́ tí yóò mú wa dàgbàsókè ní pípé. Láìtún ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ bẹ̀rẹ̀ máa tẹnumọ́ ẹ̀kọ́ ìpìlẹ̀ bí i ìrònúpìwàdà kúrò nínú òkú iṣẹ́ àti ìgbàgbọ́ nípa ti Ọlọ́run,
2 of the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios )
ti ẹ̀kọ́ àwọn bamitiisi, àti ti ìgbọ́wọ́-léni, ti àjíǹde òkú, àti tí ìdájọ́ àìnípẹ̀kun. (aiōnios )
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
Èyí ní àwa yóò sì ṣe bí Ọlọ́run bá fẹ́.
4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Nítorí pé, kò ṣe é ṣe fún àwọn tí a ti là lójú lẹ́ẹ̀kan, tí wọ́n sì ti tọ́ ẹ̀bùn ọ̀run wò, tí wọn sì ti di alábápín Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́,
5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, (aiōn )
tí wọn sì tọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ rere Ọlọ́run wò, àti agbára ayé tí ń bọ̀, (aiōn )
6 and [then] fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
láti tún sọ wọ́n di ọ̀tun sí ìrònúpìwàdà bí wọn bá ṣubú kúrò; nítorí tí wọ́n tún kan Ọmọ Ọlọ́run mọ́ àgbélébùú sí ara wọn lọ́tun, wọ́n sì dójútì í ní gbangba.
7 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God:
Nítorí ilẹ̀ tí ó ń fa omi òjò tí ń rọ̀ sórí rẹ̀ nígbà gbogbo mu, tí ó sì ń hu ewébẹ̀ tí ó dára fún àwọn tí à ń tìtorí wọn ro ó pẹ̀lú, ń gba ìbùkún lọ́wọ́ Ọlọ́run.
8 but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned.
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ó ba ń hu ẹ̀gún àti òṣùṣú yóò di kíkọ̀sílẹ̀, kò si jìnnà sí fífi gégùn ún, òpin èyí tí yóò wà fún ìjóná.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak:
Ṣùgbọ́n olùfẹ́, àwa ní ohun tí ó dára jù bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ, ní tiyín, àti ohun tí ó fi ara mọ́ ìgbàlà, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé à ń ṣe báyìí sọ̀rọ̀.
10 for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye shewed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.
Nítorí Ọlọ́run kì í ṣe aláìṣòdodo tí yóò fi gbàgbé iṣẹ́ yin àti ìfẹ́ tí ẹ̀yin fihàn sí orúkọ rẹ̀, nípa iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ tí ẹ ti ṣe fún àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́, tí ẹ sì tún ń ṣe.
11 And we desire that each one of you may shew the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end:
Àwa sì fẹ́ kí olúkúlùkù yín máa fi irú àìsimi kan náà hàn, fún ẹ̀kún ìdánilójú ìrètí títí dé òpin.
12 that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Kí ẹ má ṣe di onílọ̀ra, ṣùgbọ́n aláfarawé àwọn tí wọn ti ipa ìgbàgbọ́ àti sùúrù jogún àwọn ìlérí.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself,
Nítorí nígbà tí Ọlọ́run ṣe ìlérí fún Abrahamu, bí kò ti rí ẹni tí ó pọ̀jù òun láti fi búra, ó fi ara rẹ̀ búra, wí pé,
14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
“Nítòótọ́ ní bíbùkún èmi ó bùkún fún ọ, àti ní bíbísí èmi ó sì mú ọ bí sí i.”
15 And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ náà sì ni, lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí Abrahamu fi sùúrù dúró, ó ri ìlérí náà gbà.
16 For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation.
Nítorí ènìyàn a máa fi ẹni tí ó pọ̀jù wọ́n lọ búra: ìbúra náà a sì fi òpin sí gbogbo ìjiyàn wọn fún ìfẹ̀sẹ̀ múlẹ̀ ọ̀rọ̀.
17 Wherein God, being minded to shew more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath:
Nínú èyí tí Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí ń fẹ́ gidigidi láti fi àìlèyípadà ète rẹ̀ hàn fún àwọn ajogún ìlérí náà, ó fi ìbúra sáàrín wọn.
18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us;
Pé, nípa ohun àìlèyípadà méjì, nínú èyí tí kò le ṣe é ṣe fún Ọlọ́run láti ṣèké, kí a lè mú àwa tí ó ti sá sábẹ́ ààbò rẹ̀ ní ọkàn lè láti di ìrètí tí a gbé kalẹ̀ níwájú wa mú ṣinṣin.
19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, [a hope] both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil;
Èyí tí àwa níbi ìdákọ̀ró ọkàn fún ọkàn wa, ìrètí tí ó dájú tí ó sì dúró ṣinṣin, tí ó sì wọ inú ilé lọ lẹ́yìn aṣọ ìkélé;
20 whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. (aiōn )
níbi tí Jesu, aṣáájú wa ti wọ̀ lọ fún wa, òun sì ni a fi jẹ alábojútó àlùfáà títí láé ní ipasẹ̀ Melkisedeki. (aiōn )
