Habakkuk 1
1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
La carga que vio Habacuc profeta.
2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear? I cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save.
¿Hasta cuándo, o! Jehová, clamaré, y no oirás? ¿daré voces a ti a causa de la violencia, y no salvarás?
3 Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and look upon perverseness? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there is strife, and contention riseth up.
¿Por qué me haces ver iniquidad, y haces que mire molestia, y que saco y violencia esté delante de mí, y haya quien levante pleito y contienda?
4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore judgment goeth forth perverted.
Por lo cual la ley es debilitada, y el juicio no sale perpetuo; porque el impío calumnia al justo: a esta causa el juicio sale torcido.
5 Behold ye among the nations, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I work a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you.
Mirád en las gentes, y ved, y maravilláos, maravilláos; porque obra será hecha en vuestros días, que cuando se os contare, no la creeréis.
6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation; which march through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.
Porque he aquí que yo levanto los Caldeos, nación amarga y presurosa, que camina por la anchura de la tierra para poseer las habitaciones ajenas.
7 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.
Espantosa y terrible, de ella misma saldrá su derecho y su grandeza.
8 Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves; and their horsemen spread themselves: yea, their horsemen come from far; they fly as an eagle that hasteth to devour.
Y serán sus caballos más ligeros que tigres, y más agudos que lobos de tarde; y sus caballeros se multiplicarán: vendrán de lejos sus caballeros, y volarán como águilas que se apresuran a la comida.
9 They come all of them for violence; their faces are set eagerly as the east wind; and they gather captives as the sand.
Toda ella vendrá a la presa: delante de sus caras viento solano; y ayuntará cautivos como arena.
10 Yea, he scoffeth at kings, and princes are a derision unto him: he derideth every strong hold; for he heapeth up dust, and taketh it.
Y él escarnecerá de los reyes, y de los príncipes hará burla: él se reirá de toda fortaleza, y amontanará polvo, y la tomará.
11 Then shall he sweep by [as] a wind, and shall pass over, and be guilty: [even] he whose might is his god.
Entonces él mudará espíritu, y traspasará, y pecará atribuyendo esta su potencia a su dios.
12 Art not thou from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained him for judgment; and thou, O Rock, hast established him for correction.
¿No eres tú desde el principio, o! Jehová, Dios mío, santo mío? no moriremos, o! Jehová: para juicio le pusiste, y fuerte le fundaste para castigar.
13 Thou that art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and that canst not look on perverseness, wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy peace when the wicked swalloweth up the man that is more righteous than he;
Limpio de ojos para no ver el mal: ni podrás ver la molestia: ¿por qué ves los menospreciadores, y callas, cuando destruye el impío al más justo que él?
14 and makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?
¿Y haces que los hombres sean como los peces de la mar, y como reptiles que no tienen señor?
15 He taketh up all of them with the angle, he catcheth them in his net, and gathereth them in his drag: therefore he rejoiceth and is glad.
Sacará a todos con su anzuelo, apañarlos ha con su aljanaya, y juntarlos ha con su red: por lo cual él se holgará, y hará alegrías.
16 Therefore he sacrificeth unto his net, and burneth incense unto his drag; because by them his portion is fat, and his meat plenteous.
Por esto sacrificará a su aljanaya, y a su red ofrecerá sahumerios; porque con ellas engordó su porción, y engrasó su comida.
17 Shall he therefore empty his net, and not spare to slay the nations continually?
¿Vaciará por eso su red, o tendrá piedad de matar naciones continuamente?
