Genesis 35
1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, who appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
೧ದೇವರು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗಟ್ಟಾ ಹತ್ತಿ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡು. ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಾದ ಏಸಾವನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ದರ್ಶನಕೊಟ್ಟನಲ್ಲಾ, ಆತನಿಗಾಗಿ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and purify yourselves, and change your garments:
೨ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿರಿ,
3 and let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
೩ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ. ಕಷ್ಟಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಲಾಲಿಸಿ ನಾನು ಹೋದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
೪ಆಗ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು, ತಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಓಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಶೆಕೆಮ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಏಲಾ ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟನು.
5 And they journeyed: and a great terror was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
೫ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಭಯವು ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
6 So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan (the same is Beth-el), he and all the people that were with him.
೬ಹೀಗೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೇತೇಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಲೂಜಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
7 And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God was revealed unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
೭ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದಾಗ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದನು. ಅದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಏಲ್ ಬೇತೇಲ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
8 And Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried below Beth-el under the oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bacuth.
೮ಅಲ್ಲಿ ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ದೆಬೋರಳು ಸತ್ತು ಹೋದಾಗ, ಅವರು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಲ್ಲೋನ್ ಮರದ ಬುಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲೋನ್ ಬಾಕೂತ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು.
9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came from Paddan-aram, and blessed him.
೯ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಪದ್ದನ್ ಅರಾಮಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದಾಗ ದೇವರು ಪುನಃ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದರ್ಶನ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದನು.
10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
೧೦ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಈಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿರುವುದು. ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಯಾಕೋಬನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
೧೧ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನೇ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು, ನೀನು ಬಹು ಸಂತಾನವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವೆ, ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಜನಾಂಗವೂ, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಗುಂಪು ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದು. ಅನೇಕ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅರಸರು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟುವರು.
12 and the land which I gave unto Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
೧೨ನಾನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸಾಕರಿಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ಬರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 And God went up from him in the place where he spake with him.
೧೩ಅನಂತರ ದೇವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೇರಿ ಹೋದನು.
14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spake with him, a pillar of stone: and he poured out a drink offering thereon, and poured oil thereon.
೧೪ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ದೇವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಸ್ತಂಭವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾನಕಾಭಿಷೇಕಮಾಡಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಯ್ದನು.
15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.
೧೫ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ದೇವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ “ಬೇತೇಲ್” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
16 And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was still some way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
೧೬ಅವರು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲು ಎಫ್ರಾತಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರವಿದ್ದಾಗ ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಪ್ರಸವ ವೇದನೆಯಿಂದ ನರಳಿದಳು.
17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; for now thou shalt have another son.
೧೭ಆಕೆಯು ಹೆರಿಗೆಯ ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಅಂಜಬೇಡ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವು ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.
೧೮ಆದರೆ ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದಳು. ಪ್ರಾಣಬಿಡುವಾಗ ಆಕೆಯು ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ, “ಬೆನೋನಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. ಆದರೆ ಅದರ ತಂದೆಯು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, “ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath (the same is Beth-lehem).
೧೯ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಸತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಎಫ್ರಾತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.
20 And Jacob set up a pillar upon her grave: the same is the Pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.
೨೦ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಆಕೆಯ ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸ್ತಂಭವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು. ಅದು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ “ರಾಹೇಲಳ ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಸ್ತಂಭ” ಎಂದೇ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.
21 And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Eder.
೨೧ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಿಗ್ದಲ್ ಏದರಿನ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿದನು.
22 And it came to pass, while Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
೨೨ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ರೂಬೇನನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಬಿಲ್ಹಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗಮಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು. ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿದ್ದರು.
23 the sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
೨೩ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಲೇಯಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರು ಯಾರೆಂದರೆ: ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗನಾದ ರೂಬೇನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್, ಲೇವಿ, ಯೆಹೂದ, ಇಸ್ಸಾಕಾರ್, ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್.
24 the sons of Rachel; Joseph and Benjamin:
೨೪ರಾಹೇಲಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರು: ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನು.
25 and the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan and Naphtali:
೨೫ರಾಹೇಲಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಬಿಲ್ಹಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರು: ದಾನ್, ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ.
26 and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid; Gad and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Paddan-aram.
೨೬ಲೇಯಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಜಿಲ್ಪಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರು: ಗಾದ್, ಆಶೇರ್. ಪದ್ದನ್ ಅರಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಇವರೇ.
27 And Jacob came unto Isaac his father to Mamre, to Kiriath-arba (the same is Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
೨೭ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸಾಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಮ್ರೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಮಮ್ರೆಯು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನೆಂಬ ಕಿರ್ಯತರ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿರುವುದು. ಅದು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮ ಇಸಾಕರು ಪರದೇಶಸ್ಥರಾಗಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳ.
28 And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
೨೮ಇಸಾಕನು ದಿನತುಂಬಿದ ಮುದುಕನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನೂರ ಎಂಭತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದನು.
29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, old and full of days: and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.
೨೯ಇಸಾಕನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಏಸಾವ, ಯಾಕೋಬರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.
