Genesis 21
1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
Y visitó Jehová a Sara, como había dicho; e hizo Jehová con Sara como había hablado.
2 And Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Que concibió y parió Sara a Abraham un hijo en su vejez, en el tiempo que Dios dijo.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
Y llamó Abraham el nombre de su hijo, que le nació, que le parió Sara, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
Y circuncidó Abraham a su hijo Isaac de ocho días, como Dios le mandó.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
Y era Abraham de cien años, cuando le nació Isaac su hijo.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh; every one that heareth will laugh with me.
Entonces dijo Sara: Risa me ha hecho Dios; y cualquiera que lo oyere, se reirá conmigo.
7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should give children suck? for I have borne him a son in his old age.
Y dijo: ¿Quién dijera a Abraham, que Sara había de dar leche a hijos? que le he parido un hijo a su vejez.
8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
Y creció el niño, y fue destetado; e hizo Abraham gran banquete el día que fue destetado Isaac.
9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had borne unto Abraham, mocking.
Y vio Sara al hijo de Agar la Egipcia, que había parido a Abraham, que se burlaba.
10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
Y dijo a Abraham: Echa a esta sierva y a su hijo, que el hijo de esta sierva no ha de heredar con mi hijo, con Isaac.
11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight on account of his son.
Este dicho pareció grave en gran manera a Abraham a causa de su hijo.
12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah saith unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Entonces dijo Dios a Abraham: No te parezca grave a causa del mozo y de tu sierva: en todo lo que te dijere Sara, oye en su voz; porque en Isaac te será llamada generación.
13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
Y también al hijo de la sierva pondré en gente, porque es tu simiente.
14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
Entonces Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y tomó pan, y un cuero de agua, y diólo a Agar poniéndolo sobre su hombro; y dióle al muchacho, y envióla: y ella fue, y perdióse en el desierto de Beer-seba.
15 And the water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
Y faltóle el agua del cuero, y echó el muchacho debajo de un árbol,
16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not look upon the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
Y fuése, y sentóse en derecho, alejándose cuanto un tiro de arco, diciendo: No veré cuando el muchacho morirá; y sentóse en derecho, y alzó su voz y lloró.
17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
Y oyó Dios la voz del muchacho: y el ángel de Dios dio voces a Agar desde los cielos, y díjole: ¿Qué has Agar? no hayas miedo; porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está.
18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
Levántate, alza el muchacho, y tómale de tu mano; que en gran gente le tengo de poner.
19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
Entonces abrió Dios sus ojos, y vio una fuente de agua; y fue, e hinchió el cuero de agua, y dio de beber al muchacho.
20 And God was with the lad, and he grew; and he dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
Y fue Dios con el muchacho; y creció, y habitó en el desierto, y fue tirador de arco.
21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
Y habitó en el desierto de Farán, y su madre le tomó mujer de la tierra de Egipto.
22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
Y fue en aquel mismo tiempo, que habló Abimelec, y Ficol príncipe de su ejército a Abraham, diciendo: Dios es contigo en todo cuanto haces.
23 now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
Ahora, pues, júrame aquí por Dios, que no faltarás a mí, y a mi hijo, y a mi nieto: conforme a la misericordia que yo hice contigo, harás tú conmigo, y con la tierra donde has peregrinado.
24 And Abraham said, I will swear.
Y respondió Abraham: Yo juraré.
25 And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of the well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.
Y Abraham reprendió a Abimelec a causa de un pozo de agua, que los siervos de Abimelec le habían tomado.
26 And Abimelech said, I know not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but today.
Y respondió Abimelec: Yo no sé quien haya hecho esto: ni tampoco tú me lo hiciste saber, ni yo lo he oído hasta hoy.
27 And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and they two made a covenant.
Y tomó Abraham ovejas y vacas, y dio a Abimelec, e hicieron ambos alianza.
28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
Y puso Abraham siete corderas de la manada a parte.
29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
Y dijo Abimelec a Abraham: ¿Qué significan estas siete corderas, que has puesto a parte?
30 And he said, These seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that it may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
Y él respondió: Que estas siete corderas tomarás de mi mano, para que me sea en testimonio, que yo cavé este pozo.
31 Wherefore he called that place Beer-sheba; because there they sware both of them.
Por esto llamó a aquel lugar Beer-seba; por que allí juraron ambos.
32 So they made a covenant at Beer-sheba: and Abimelech rose up, and Phicol the captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
E hicieron alianza en Beer-seba: y levantóse Abimelec, y Ficol príncipe de su ejército, y volviéronse a tierra de los Filisteos.
33 And [Abraham] planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.
Y plantó un bosque en Beer-seba, e invocó allí el nombre de Jehová Dios eterno.
34 And Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.
Y moró Abraham en tierra de los Filisteos muchos días.
