Galatians 1
1 Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),
Paulo, apóstolo (não da parte dos seres humanos, nem por meio de homem algum, mas sim por Jesus Cristo, e por Deus Pai, que o ressuscitou dos mortos),
2 and all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
e todos os irmãos que estão comigo, para as igrejas da Galácia.
3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,
Graça seja convosco, e também a paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo,
4 who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father: (aiōn g165)
que deu a si mesmo pelos nossos pecados, para nos tirar da presente era maligna, conforme a vontade do nosso Deus e Pai, (aiōn g165)
ao qual seja a glória para todo o sempre, Amém! (aiōn g165)
6 I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel;
Admiro-me de que tão rapidamente desviastes daquele que vos chamou na graça de Cristo, em troca de outro evangelho.
7 which is not another [gospel]: only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Não que haja outro [evangelho], porém há alguns que vos inquietam, e querem perverter o Evangelho de Cristo.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema.
Porém, ainda que nós mesmos, ou um anjo do céu vos anuncie outro evangelho além do que já vos anunciamos, maldito seja.
9 As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema.
Como já havíamos dito, volto também agora a dizer: se alguém vos anunciar outro evangelho além do que já recebestes, maldito seja.
10 For am I now persuading men, or God? or am I seeking to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.
Pois agora estou buscando a aprovação das pessoas, ou a de Deus? Ou procuro agradar a pessoas? Se ainda tentasse agradar a pessoas, eu não seria servo de Cristo.
11 For I make known to you, brethren, as touching the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not after man.
Pois faço-vos saber, irmãos, que o Evangelho anunciado por mim não se baseia em pessoas;
12 For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but [it came to me] through revelation of Jesus Christ.
pois não o recebi, nem aprendi de ser humano algum, mas sim pela revelação de Jesus Cristo.
13 For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havock of it:
Pois já ouvistes da minha conduta no judaísmo, como em excesso eu perseguia e tentava destruir a Igreja de Deus;
14 and I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of mine own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
e [como] no judaísmo eu era mais avançado que muitos de minha idade em minha nação, e era extremamente zeloso das tradições de meus pais.
15 But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, [even] from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace,
Mas quando aquele que me separou desde o ventre da minha mãe, e por sua graça me chamou, se agradou
16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
de revelar o seu Filho em mim, para eu evangelizar os gentios, de imediato, não fui pedir conselho com pessoa alguma;
17 neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus.
nem subi a Jerusalém para os que já eram apóstolos antes de mim; em vez disso, parti para a Arábia, e voltei outra vez a Damasco.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and tarried with him fifteen days.
Então, depois de três anos, subi a Jerusalém para visitar Cefas, e estive com ele por quinze dias.
19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.
E vi nenhum outro dos apóstolos, a não ser Tiago, o irmão do Senhor.
20 Now touching the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
Ora, das coisas que vos escrevo, eis que, diante de Deus, não estou mentindo.
21 Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
Depois fui para as regiões da Síria e da Cilícia.
22 And I was still unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
Eu, porém, não era conhecido de rosto pelas igrejas da Judeia que estão em Cristo;
23 but they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now preacheth the faith of which he once made havock;
mas somente haviam ouvido que “Aquele que antes nos perseguia agora anuncia a fé que antes tentava destruir”.
24 and they glorified God in me.
E glorificavam a Deus por causa de mim.
