Ezekiel 6
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
2 Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy unto them,
Fils d’un homme, tourne ta face vers les montagnes d’Israël, et tu prophétiseras contre elles,
3 and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
Et dis-leur: Montagnes d’Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Dieu aux montagnes, aux collines, aux rochers et aux vallées: Voilà que moi j’amènerai sur vous le glaive, et je détruirai entièrement vos hauts lieux,
4 your altars shall become desolate, and your sun-images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
Et j’abattrai vos autels, et vos simulacres seront brisés; et je jetterai ceux qui vous seront tués devant vos idoles.
5 And I will lay the carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
Et je mettrai les cadavres des fils d’Israël devant la face de vos simulacres, et je disperserai vos os autour de vos autels.
6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your sun-images may be hewn down, and your works may be abolished.
Dans toutes vos habitations les villes seront désertes, et les hauts lieux seront abattus et détruits; et vos autels tomberont et seront brisés; vos idoles ne seront plus, et vos temples seront détruits, et vos ouvrages périront.
7 And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Et les tués tomberont au milieu de vous, et vous saurez que moi je suis le Seigneur.
8 Yet will I leave a remnant, in that ye shall have some that escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
Et je laisserai d’entre vous ceux qui auront échappé au glaive, parmi les nations, lorsque je vous aurai dispersés dans les divers pays.
9 And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, how that I have been broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
Et ceux qui vous auront été délivrés se souviendront de moi parmi les nations, chez lesquelles ils auront été emmenés captifs, parce que j’ai brisé leur cœur fornicateur et qui s’est retiré de moi, et leurs yeux qui ont forniqué à la suite de leurs idoles; et ils se déplairont à eux-mêmes à cause des maux qu’ils ont faits dans leurs abominations.
10 And they shall know that I am the LORD: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
Et ils sauront que moi, le Seigneur, je n’ai pas dit en vain que je leur ferais ce mal.
11 Thus saith the Lord GOD: Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas! because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel: for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Frappe ta main, et heurte ton pied, et dis: Malheur sur toutes les abominations des maux de la maison d’Israël, parce que c’est par le glaive, par la famine et par la peste qu’ils doivent tomber.
12 He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
Celui qui est au loin mourra de la peste; mais celui qui est près tombera sous le glaive; celui qui aura été laissé et assiégé mourra de faim; et j’assouvirai mon indignation sur eux.
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque ceux qui vous auront été tués seront gisants au milieu de vos idoles, autour de vos autels, sur toute colline élevée, et sur tous les sommets des montagnes, et sous tout arbre touffu, et sous tout chêne feuillu; lieux où ils ont brûlé des encens odorants en l’honneur de leurs idoles.
14 And I will stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate and waste, from the wilderness toward Diblah, throughout all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Et j’étendrai ma main sur eux, et je rendrai la terre désolée et abandonnée, depuis le désert de Déblatha, dans toutes leurs habitations; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
