Ezekiel 22
1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
2 And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations.
Et toi, fils de l'homme, ne jugeras-tu pas une ville de sang?
3 And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord GOD: A city that sheddeth blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that maketh idols against herself to defile her!
Montre-lui toutes ses iniquités, et dis-lui: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Maître: Malheur à toi, ville, qui dans ton sein verses le sang pour que ton temps arrive, et qui t'es forgé des idoles pour te souiller
4 Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed, and art defiled in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.
Du sang de tes enfants que tu as répandu! Tu es tombée et tu t'es souillée, en te forgeant des idoles; tu as avancé tes jours, et hâté le temps de tes années. À cause de cela, je t'ai livrée aux outrages des gentils; et on fera de toi un sujet de raillerie en tous les royaumes
5 Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, thou infamous one [and] full of tumult.
Qui t'avoisinent, et en ceux qui sont loin de toi; et l'on se moquera de toi, toi que l'on appelle impure et féconde en iniquités.
6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his power, have been in thee to shed blood.
Voilà que les princes de la maison d'Israël, chacun avec sa famille, ont conspiré en toi, afin de verser le sang.
7 In thee have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of thee, have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.
C'est chez toi qu'ils ont médit de leur père et de leur mère, qu'ils ont été iniques envers l'étranger, et qu'ils ont opprimé l'orphelin et la veuve.
8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.
Et ils ont méprisé mes choses saintes, et ils ont profané mes sabbats.
9 Slanderous men have been in thee to shed blood: and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness.
Chez toi il est des voleurs prompts à verser le sang; chez toi ils ont mangé sur les hauts lieux, et ils ont commis des crimes au milieu de toi.
10 In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her separation.
Chez toi ils ont dévoilé la honte de leur père, et ils ont humilié la femme assise en sa souillure.
11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
Chez toi chacun a abusé de la femme de son prochain; chacun a souillé criminellement sa bru; chacun a humilié sa sœur et la fille de son père.
12 In thee have they taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
Chez toi ils ont reçu des dons pour verser le sang; chez toi ils ont prêté à usure, et ont reçu plus qu'il ne leur était dû. Et tu as porté la méchanceté au comble par tes actes d'oppression; et moi, tu m'as oublié, dit le Seigneur.
13 Behold, therefore, I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
Et si je frappe des mains au sujet des iniquités que tu as consommées, et de ton sang qui a été répandu au milieu de toi,
14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
Ton cœur se soutiendra-t-il? et tes mains conserveront-elles leur force en ces jours que je vais amener sur toi? C'est moi, dit le Seigneur, qui ai parlé, et j'exécuterai.
15 And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
Et je te disperserai parmi les gentils, et je te disséminerai en tous les royaumes, et ton impureté te sera ôtée.
16 And thou shalt be profaned in thyself, in the sight of the nations; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
Et je ferai de toi mon héritage, aux yeux de toutes les nations; et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
17 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
18 Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.
Fils de l'homme, voilà que la maison d'Israël est devenue pour moi comme un alliage d'airain, de fer, d'étain et de plomb, mêlé avec de l'argent.
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Because ye are all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
À cause de cela, dis-lui: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Maître: Parce que vous ne formez plus qu'un seul alliage, je vous recueillerai au milieu de Jérusalem.
20 As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will lay you there, and melt you.
De même que dans la fournaise on rassemble l'argent, l'airain, le fer, l'étain et le plomb, pour souffler sur eux le feu et les fondre; ainsi je vous recueillerai en ma colère, et je vous rassemblerai, et je vous ferai fondre.
21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shalt be melted in the midst thereof.
Et je soufflerai sur vous le feu de ma colère, et vous serez fondus au milieu de Jérusalem.
22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
De même que l'argent est fondu au milieu d'une fournaise, ainsi vous serez fondus au milieu de Jérusalem, et vous saurez que c'est moi, le Seigneur, qui ai versé sur vous ma colère.
23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
24 Son of man, say unto her, thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
Fils de l'homme, dis à cette ville: Tu es une terre sans rosée; il n'est point venu de pluie sur toi au jour de ma colère.
25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in the midst thereof.
Ses princes au milieu d'elle sont comme des lions rugissants, ravissant leur proie, dévorant des âmes en leur violence, et recevant des présents. Et ils ont multiplié tes veuves au milieu de toi.
26 Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
Et ses prêtres ont méprisé ma loi, et ils ont profané mes choses saintes. Ils n'ont point distingué le sacré du profane; ils n'ont point distingué le pur de l'impur; ils ont voilé leurs yeux pour ne point voir mes sabbats, et j'ai été déshonoré au milieu d'eux.
27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey; to shed blood, [and] to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.
Ses princes au milieu d'elle sont comme des loups ravissant leur proie, prêts à verser le sang pour s'emparer du bien d'autrui.
28 And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered [mortar], seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
Et ses prophètes qui caressent le peuple tomberont; ils ont des visions vaines, et ils annonceront des oracles menteurs, disant: Ainsi parle le Seigneur; quand le Seigneur n'a point parlé.
29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
Oppresseurs iniques du peuple de la terre, ravisseurs du bien d'autrui, spoliateurs du pauvre et de l'indigent, violateurs de la justice envers l'étranger!
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the fence, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
J'ai cherché parmi eux un homme qui revînt à la droiture, qui se tînt devant ma face de toute son âme au temps de ma colère, pour ne point effacer entièrement cette ville, et je ne l'ai pas trouvé.
31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
Et j'ai versé sur elle le feu de ma colère, pour la détruire, et j'ai fait retomber leurs voies sur leurs tètes, dit le Seigneur Maître.
