Ezekiel 21
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
I doszło do mnie słowo PANA mówiące:
2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop [thy word] toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;
Synu człowieczy, odwróć swoją twarz w stronę Jerozolimy i krop [swoją mowę] ku świętym miejscom, i prorokuj przeciwko ziemi Izraela;
3 and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
Powiedz ziemi Izraela: Tak mówi Pan BÓG: Oto ja [jestem] przeciwko tobie i dobędę swój miecz z pochwy, i wytnę spośród ciebie sprawiedliwego i bezbożnego.
4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
Ponieważ wytnę spośród ciebie sprawiedliwego i bezbożnego, mój miecz wyjdzie ze swej pochwy przeciwko wszelkiemu ciału od południa [aż] do północy.
5 and all flesh shall know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.
I pozna wszelkie ciało, że ja, PAN, dobyłem swój miecz z pochwy i już [do niej] nie wróci.
6 Sigh therefore, thou son of man; with the breaking of thy loins and with bitterness shalt thou sigh before their eyes.
A ty, synu człowieczy, wzdychaj, jakbyś miał złamane biodro, w goryczy wzdychaj na ich oczach.
7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.
A gdy zapytają: Dlaczego wzdychasz? – to odpowiesz: Z powodu wieści, która nadchodzi, bo każde serce się rozpłynie, wszystkie ręce osłabną, wszelki duch omdleje i wszystkie kolana rozpłyną się [jak] woda. Oto nadchodzi to i stanie się, mówi Pan BÓG.
8 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
I doszło do mnie słowo PANA:
9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD: Say, A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished:
Synu człowieczy, prorokuj i mów: Tak mówi PAN. Mów: Miecz, miecz jest wyostrzony i wypolerowany.
10 it is sharpened that it may make a slaughter; it is furbished that it may be as lightning: shall we then make mirth? the rod of my son, it contemneth every tree.
Wyostrzony, aby dokonać rzezi, wypolerowany, aby lśnił. Czy mamy się cieszyć? Gdyż gardzi rózgą mego syna jak każdym drzewem.
11 And it is given to be furbished, that it may be handled: the sword, it is sharpened, yea, it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
Dał go na wypolerowanie, aby mógł być ujęty w dłoń, ten miecz jest wyostrzony, jest też wypolerowany, aby dać go w ręce zabójcy.
12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it is upon my people, it is upon all the princes of Israel: they are delivered over to the sword with my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.
Wołaj i zawódź, synu człowieczy, gdyż ten [miecz] będzie przeciwko memu ludowi, przeciwko wszystkim książętom Izraela. Strach miecza przyjdzie na mój lud, dlatego uderz się w biodro.
13 For there is a trial; and what if even the rod that contemneth shall be no more? saith the Lord GOD.
Jest to bowiem próba, a cóż jeśli [miecz] będzie gardzić rózgą? Już jej nie będzie, mówi Pan BÓG.
14 Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one that is deadly wounded, which entereth into their chambers.
Ty więc, synu człowieczy, prorokuj i bij dłonią o dłoń. Niech przyjdzie miecz drugi i trzeci raz, miecz zabitych, ten wielki miecz zabitych, przenikający aż do ich komnat.
15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied: ah! it is made as lightning, it is pointed for slaughter.
Postawiłem strach miecza we wszystkich ich bramach, aby ich serce się rozpłynęło i pomnożyły się ich upadki. Ach! [Jest] wypolerowany, aby błyszczeć, wyostrzony, aby zabić.
16 Gather thee together, go to the right; set thyself in array, go to the left; whithersoever thy face is set.
Zbierz się, [mieczu], udaj się w prawo i w lewo, dokądkolwiek twoja twarz jest zwrócona.
17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will satisfy my fury: I the LORD have spoken it.
Ja również uderzę dłonią o dłoń i uspokoję swoją zapalczywość. Ja, PAN, [to] powiedziałem.
18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
Potem [znowu] doszło do mnie słowo PANA mówiące:
19 Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they twain shall come forth out of one land: and mark out a place, mark it out at the head of the way to the city.
A ty, synu człowieczy, wyznacz sobie dwie drogi, którymi ma przyjść miecz króla Babilonu. Obie niech wychodzą z jednej ziemi, wybierz miejsce na rozstaju dróg wiodących do miasta, wybierz je.
20 Thou shalt appoint a way, for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
Wyznacz drogę, którą ma przyjść miecz: do Rabby synów Ammona i do Judy w obwarowanej Jerozolimie.
21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shook the arrows to and fro, he consulted the teraphim, he looked in the liver.
Król Babilonu bowiem stanął na rozdrożu, na początku dwóch dróg, aby zasięgnąć wróżby: polerował strzały, radził się bożków, patrzył na wątrobę.
22 In his right hand was the divination [for] Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounts, to build forts.
Wyrocznia wskazała na jego prawą rękę, na Jerozolimę, aby szykował dowódców, którzy mieli wydać rozkaz rzezi i podnieść okrzyk bojowy, aby ustawić tarany pod bramami, aby usypać wał i budować szańce.
23 And it shall be unto them as a vain divination in their sight, which have sworn oaths unto them: but he bringeth iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken.
I w ich oczach będzie to fałszywa wróżba, gdyż zobowiązali się przysięgami, lecz on im przypomni ich nieprawość, aby zostali pojmani.
24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
Dlatego tak mówi Pan BÓG: Ponieważ przypominacie mi swoją nieprawość, odsłaniając wasze przestępstwo tak, że wasze grzechy są jawne we wszystkich waszych czynach – ponieważ przypominacie mi [o tym], zostaniecie pojmani tą ręką.
25 And thou, O deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end;
A ty, nieczysty bezbożniku, księciu Izraela, którego dzień nadejdzie, gdy nastanie koniec ich nieprawości;
26 thus saith the Lord GOD: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown: this [shall be] no more the same: exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.
Tak mówi Pan BÓG: Zdejmij diadem, zrzuć koronę. Ta już nigdy taka nie będzie. To, co niskie, będzie wywyższone, a to, co wysokie, będzie poniżone.
27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [him].
Wniwecz, wniwecz, wniwecz ją obrócę. I już jej nie będzie, aż przyjdzie ten, który [do niej] ma prawo, i jemu ją oddam.
28 And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say thou, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning:
Ale ty, synu człowieczy, prorokuj i mów: Tak mówi Pan BÓG o synach Ammona i o ich hańbie. Powiedz: Miecz, miecz jest dobyty, jest wypolerowany na rzeź, błyszczy, aby wytracić wszystko;
29 whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine lies unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are deadly wounded, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end.
Chociaż opowiadają ci złudne widzenia i wróżą kłamstwo, aby cię przyłożyć do szyi bezbożnych pobitych, których dzień nadejdzie, gdy nastanie koniec ich nieprawości.
30 Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth, will I judge thee.
Schowaj [jednak miecz] do pochwy. Będę cię sądził w miejscu, gdzie zostałeś stworzony, w ziemi twego pochodzenia.
31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee; I will blow upon thee with the fire of my wrath: and I will deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.
I wyleję na ciebie swoją zapalczywość, tchnę przeciwko tobie ogniem swojego gniewu i wydam cię w ręce okrutnych ludzi i wprawnych w wytraceniu.
32 Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
Staniesz się strawą dla ognia, twoja krew będzie [rozlana] po całej ziemi, nie będziesz [już] wspominany, bo ja, PAN, to powiedziałem.
