Exodus 21
1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
E estas são as ordenanças que lhes proporás.
2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
Se comprares servo hebreu, seis anos servirá; mas ao sétimo sairá livre de graça.
3 If he come in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he be married, then his wife shall go out with him.
Se entrou sozinho, sozinho sairá: se tinha mulher, sairá ele e sua mulher com ele.
4 If his master give him a wife, and she bear him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
Se seu amo lhe houver dado mulher, e ela lhe houver dado à luz filhos ou filhas, a mulher e seus filhos serão de seu amo, e ele sairá sozinho.
5 But if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
E se o servo disser: Eu amo a meu senhor, a minha mulher e a meus filhos, não sairei livre:
6 then his master shall bring him unto God, and shall bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.
Então seu amo o fará chegar aos juízes, e o fará chegar à porta ou ao umbral; e seu amo lhe furará a orelha com ferramenta pontiaguda, e será seu servo para sempre.
7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
E quando alguém vender sua filha por serva, não sairá como costumam sair os servos.
8 If she please not her master, who hath espoused her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange people he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
Se ela não agradar ao seu senhor, o qual não a tomou por esposa, permitirá a ela que se resgate, e ela não a poderá vender a povo estrangeiro, visto que não cumpriu seu compromisso com ela.
9 And if he espouse her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
Mas se a houver desposado com seu filho, fará com ela segundo o costume das filhas.
10 If he take him another [wife]; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
Se tomar para si outra, não diminuirá seu alimento, nem sua porção de roupa, nem o direito conjugal.
11 And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out for nothing, without money.
E se nenhuma destas três coisas fizer, ela sairá de graça, e não terá que lhe pagar dinheiro.
12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall surely be put to death.
O que ferir á alguém, fazendo-lhe assim morrer, ele morrerá.
13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver [him] into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
Mas o que não armou ciladas, mas sim que Deus o pôs em suas mãos, então eu te assinalarei lugar ao qual há de fugir.
14 And if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
Além disso, se alguém se ensoberbecer contra seu próximo, e o matar traiçoeiramente, de meu altar o tirarás para que morra.
15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
E o que ferir a seu pai ou a sua mãe, morrerá.
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
Também o que roubar uma pessoa, e a vender, ou se achar em suas mãos, morrerá.
17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
Igualmente o que amaldiçoar a seu pai ou a sua mãe, morrerá.
18 And if men contend, and one smiteth the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keep his bed:
Ademais, se alguns brigarem, e algum ferir a seu próximo com pedra ou com o punho, e não morrer, mas cair em cama;
19 if he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
Se se levantar e andar fora sobre seu cajado, então será o que lhe feriu absolvido: somente lhe pagará o tempo que esteve parado, e fará que lhe curem.
20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.
E se alguém ferir a seu servo ou a sua serva com pau, e morrer sob sua mão, será castigado:
21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
Mas se durar por um dia ou dois, não será castigado, porque seu dinheiro é.
22 And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
Se alguns brigarem, e ferissem a mulher grávida, e esta abortar, mas sem haver morte, será multado conforme o que lhe impuser o marido da mulher e julgarem os juízes.
23 But if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
Mas se houver morte, então pagarás vida por vida,
24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
Olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por meio, pé por pé,
25 burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Queimadura por queimadura, ferida por ferida, golpe por golpe.
26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, and destroy it; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
E quando alguém ferir o olho de seu servo, ou o olho de sua serva, e o destruir, lhe dará liberdade por razão de seu olho.
27 And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
E se tirar o dente de seu servo, ou o dente de sua serva, por seu dente lhe deixará ir livre.
28 And if an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die, the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
Se um boi chifrar homem ou mulher, e de resultado morrer, o boi será apedrejado, e não se comerá sua carne; mas o dono do boi será absolvido.
29 But if the ox were wont to gore in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
Porém se o boi era chifrador desde o passado, e a seu dono lhe foi feito advertência, e não o houver guardado, e matar homem ou mulher, o boi será apedrejado, e também morrerá seu dono.
30 If there be laid on him a ransom, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
Se lhe for imposto resgate, então dará pelo resgate de sua pessoa quanto lhe for imposto.
31 Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
Quer tenha chifrado filho, ou tenha chifrado filha, conforme este juízo se fará com ele.
32 If the ox gore a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
Se o boi chifrar servo ou serva, pagará trinta siclos de prata seu senhor, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein,
E se alguém abrir fosso, ou cavar cisterna, e não a cobrir, e cair ali boi ou asno,
34 the owner of the pit shall make it good; he shall give money unto the owner of them, and the dead [beast] shall be his.
O dono da cisterna pagará o dinheiro, ressarcindo a seu dono, e o que foi morto será seu.
35 And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the price of it; and the dead also they shall divide.
E se o boi de alguém ferir ao boi de seu próximo, e este morrer, então venderão o boi vivo, e partirão o dinheiro dele, e também partirão o morto.
36 Or if it be known that the ox was wont to gore in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead [beast] shall be his own.
Mas se era notório que o boi era chifrador desde o passado, e seu dono não o houver guardado, pagará boi por boi, e o morto será seu.
