Ephesians 5
1 Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;
De aceea fiți urmași ai lui Dumnezeu, precum copii iubiți.
2 and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell.
Și umblați în dragoste, precum și Cristos ne-a iubit și s-a dat pe sine însuși ofrandă pentru noi și sacrificiu lui Dumnezeu pentru aromă bine mirositoare.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
Dar curvia și toată necurăția sau lăcomia să nu le lăsați niciodată să fie numite între voi, precum se cuvine sfinților;
4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.
Nici murdărie, nici vorbire proastă, nici glumă vulgară, care nu sunt cuviincioase; ci mai degrabă aducerea de mulțumiri.
5 For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Fiindcă știți aceasta, că niciun curvar, sau spurcat, sau lacom, care este idolatru, nu are moștenire în împărăția lui Cristos și a lui Dumnezeu.
6 Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.
Nu lăsați pe nimeni să vă înșele prin cuvinte deșarte, fiindcă din cauza acestora vine furia lui Dumnezeu peste copiii neascultării.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them;
De aceea nu fiți părtași cu ei.
8 For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light
Fiindcă odinioară erați întuneric, dar acum sunteți lumină în Domnul; umblați precum copii ai luminii;
9 (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
(Fiindcă rodul Duhului este în toată bunătatea și în dreptate și în adevăr),
10 proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;
Încercând ce este plăcut Domnului.
11 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;
Și să nu aveți părtășie cu faptele neroditoare ale întunericului; ci, mai degrabă, mustrați-le.
12 for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.
Fiindcă este rușine și numai a vorbi despre cele făcute de ei în taină.
13 But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.
Dar toate cele mustrate sunt arătate de lumină; fiindcă cea care arată totul pe față, este lumina.
14 Wherefore [he] saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.
De aceea el spune: Trezește-te, tu, care dormi, și scoală-te dintre morți și Cristos îți va da lumină.
15 Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
Vedeți dar, să umblați cu chibzuință, nu precum cei proști, ci precum cei înțelepți,
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Răscumpărând timpul, pentru că zilele sunt rele.
17 Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Din această cauză nu fiți fără minte, ci înțelegeți care este voia Domnului.
18 And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;
Și nu vă îmbătați cu vin, în care este destrăbălare; dimpotrivă, fiți umpluți cu Duhul,
19 speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
Vorbind vouă înșivă în psalmi și imnuri și cântări spirituale; cântând și cântând în inima voastră Domnului,
20 giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
Mulțumind totdeauna pentru toate Dumnezeului și Tatălui, în numele Domnului nostru Isus Cristos,
21 subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
Supunându-vă unii altora în teama de Dumnezeu.
22 Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Soțiilor, supuneți-vă soților voștri ca Domnului;
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, [being] himself the saviour of the body.
Pentru că soțul este capul soției, precum și Cristos este capul bisericii și el este salvatorul trupului.
24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives also [be] to their husbands in everything.
De aceea, precum biserica este supusă lui Cristos, tot așa și soțiile să se supună propriilor soți în totul.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;
Soților, iubiți-vă soțiile, precum și Cristos a iubit biserica și s-a dat pe sine însuși pentru ea,
26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
Ca să o sfințească și să o curețe cu spălarea apei prin cuvânt,
27 that he might present the church to himself a glorious [church], not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Ca să își prezinte lui însuși o biserică glorioasă, neavând pată, sau zbârcitură, sau ceva de felul acesta, ci ca să fie sfântă și fără cusur.
28 Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:
Așa sunt datori soții să își iubească soțiile, ca pe propriile lor trupuri. Cel ce își iubește soția, se iubește pe sine însuși.
29 for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church;
Fiindcă nimeni nu și-a urât vreodată propria lui carne, ci o hrănește și o îngrijește, precum și Domnul face bisericii;
30 because we are members of his body.
Pentru că suntem membre ale trupului său, din carnea sa și din oasele sale.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the twain shall become one flesh.
Din această cauză va lăsa un om pe tatăl său și pe mama sa și se va alipi de soția lui, și cei doi vor fi un singur trup.
32 This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.
Acesta este un mare mister; dar eu vorbesc referitor la Cristos și la biserică.
33 Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and [let] the wife [see] that she fear her husband.
Totuși, fiecare dintre voi în parte, astfel să își iubească soția ca pe sine însuși; și soția să se teamă cu respect de soț.
