Ephesians 4
1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
૧એ માટે હું, પ્રભુને સારુ બંદીવાન, તમને વિનંતી કરું છું કે, જે તેડાથી તમે તેડાયા છો, તે તેડાને યોગ્ય થઈને ચાલો;
2 with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
૨સંપૂર્ણ દીનતા, નમ્રતા તથા સહનશીલતા રાખીને પ્રેમથી એકબીજાનું સહન કરો;
3 giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
૩શાંતિના બંધનમાં આત્માની એકતા રાખવાનો યત્ન કરો.
4 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;
૪જેમ તમારા તેડાની એક આશામાં તમે તેડાયેલા છો, તેમ એક શરીર તથા એક આત્મા છે;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
૫એક પ્રભુ, એક વિશ્વાસ, એક બાપ્તિસ્મા,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
૬એક ઈશ્વર અને સર્વના પિતા, ઈશ્વર સર્વ ઉપર, સર્વ મધ્યે તથા સર્વમાં છે.
7 But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
૭આપણામાંના દરેકને ખ્રિસ્તનાં કૃપાદાનના પરિમાણ પ્રમાણે કૃપા આપવામાં આવેલી છે.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
૮એ માટે તે કહે છે કે, ઊંચાણમાં ચઢીને તે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત બંદીવાનોને લઈ ગયા તથા તેમણે માણસોને કૃપાદાન આપ્યાં.
9 (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
૯તેઓ પ્રથમ પૃથ્વીના ઊંડાણોમાં ઊતર્યા.
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
૧૦જે ઊતર્યા તે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત એ છે કે જે સર્વને ભરપૂર કરવાને સર્વ સ્વર્ગો પર ઊંચે ચઢ્યાં.
11 And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
૧૧વળી સંતોની સંપૂર્ણતા કરવાને અર્થે, સેવાના કામને સારુ, ખ્રિસ્તનું શરીર ઉન્નતિ કરવાને સારુ,
12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
૧૨તેમણે કેટલાક પ્રેરિતો, કેટલાક પ્રબોધકો, કેટલાક સુવાર્તિકો, અને કેટલાક પાળકો તથા શિક્ષકો આપ્યા;
13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
૧૩ત્યાં સુધી કે આપણે સહુ ઈશ્વરના દીકરા પરના વિશ્વાસથી તથા ડહાપણના ઐક્યમાં સંપૂર્ણ પુરષત્વને, એટલે ખ્રિસ્તની સંપૂર્ણતાની પાયરીએ પહોંચીએ.
14 that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
૧૪જેથી હવે આપણે બાળકોના જેવા માણસોની ઠગાઈથી, ભ્રમણામાં નાખવાની કાવતરાંભરેલી યુક્તિથી, દરેક ભિન્ન ભિન્ન મતરૂપી પવનથી ડોલાં ખાનારા તથા આમતેમ ફરનારા ન થઈએ.
15 but speaking truth in love, may grow up in all things into him, which is the head, [even] Christ;
૧૫પણ પ્રેમથી સત્યને બોલીને, ખ્રિસ્ત જે શિર છે, તેમાં સર્વ પ્રકારે વધીએ.
16 from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in [due] measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.
૧૬એનાથી આખું શરીર ગોઠવાઈને તથા દરેક સાંધા વડે જોડાઈને, દરેક અંગ પોતાની શક્તિ પ્રમાણે કાર્ય કર્યાથી, પ્રેમમાં પોતાની ઉન્નતિને સારુ શરીરની વૃદ્ધિ કરે છે.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,
૧૭એ માટે હું કહું છું તથા પ્રભુમાં સાક્ષી આપું છે કે, જેમ બીજા બિનયહૂદી પોતાના મનની ભ્રમણામાં ચાલે છે, તેમ હવેથી તમે ન ચાલો;
18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;
૧૮તેઓની બુદ્ધિ અંધકારમય થયેલી હોવાથી, અને તેઓના હૃદયની કઠણતાથી પોતામાં જે અજ્ઞાનતા છે, તેને લીધે તેઓ ઈશ્વરના જીવનથી દૂર છે.
19 who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
૧૯તેઓ નઠોર થયા. અને આતુરતાથી સર્વ દુરાચારો કરવા સારુ, પોતે વ્યભિચારી થયા.
20 But ye did not so learn Christ;
૨૦પણ તમે ખ્રિસ્તની પાસેથી એવું શીખ્યા નથી,
21 if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:
૨૧જો તમે તેમનું સાંભળ્યું હોય તથા ઈસુમાં જે સત્ય છે તે પ્રમાણે તમને તે વિષેનું શિક્ષણ મળ્યું હોય તો,
22 that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, which waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;
૨૨તમારી અગાઉની વર્તણૂકનું જૂનું મનુષ્યત્વ જે કપટવાસના પ્રમાણે ભ્રષ્ટ થતું જાય છે તે દૂર કરો.
23 and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
૨૩અને તમારી મનોવૃત્તિઓ નવી બનાવો.
24 and put on the new man, which after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
૨૪અને નવું મનુષ્યત્વ જે ઈશ્વરના મનોરથ પ્રમાણે ન્યાયીપણામાં તથા સત્યની પવિત્રતામાં સૃજાયેલું છે તે ધારણ કરો.
25 Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
૨૫એ માટે અસત્ય દૂર કરીને દરેક પોતાના પડોશીની સાથે સત્ય બોલો; કેમ કે આપણે એકબીજાનાં અંગો છીએ.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
૨૬ગુસ્સે થવાય ત્યારે ખુન્નસ રાખવાનું પણ પાપ ન કરો; તમારા ગુસ્સા પર સૂર્યને આથમવા ન દો;
27 neither give place to the devil.
૨૭અને શેતાનને સ્થાન આપો નહિ.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.
૨૮ચોરી કરનારે હવેથી ચોરી કરવી નહિ; પણ તેને બદલે પોતાને હાથે ઉદ્યોગ કરીને સારાં કામ કરવાં, એ સારુ કે જેને જરૂરિયાત છે તેને આપવા માટે પોતાની પાસે કંઈ હોય.
29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.
૨૯તમારા મુખમાંથી કંઈ મલિન વચન નહિ, પણ જે ઉન્નતિને સારુ હોય તે જ નીકળે, કે તેથી સાંભળનારાઓનું હિત સધાય.
30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.
૩૦ઈશ્વરનો પવિત્ર આત્મા, જેણે તમને ઉદ્ધારના દિવસને સારુ મુદ્રાંકિત કર્યા છે, તેને ખેદિત ન કરો.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:
૩૧સર્વ પ્રકારની કડવાસ, ક્રોધ, કોપ, ઘોંઘાટ, અપમાન તેમ જ સર્વ પ્રકારના દુરાચાર કરવાનું બંધ કરો.
32 and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
૩૨તમે એકબીજા પ્રત્યે માયાળુ અને કરુણાળુ થાઓ, અને જેમ ખ્રિસ્તમાં ઈશ્વરે પણ તમને માફી આપી તેમ તમે એકબીજાને માફ કરો.
