Ecclesiastes 1
1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
၁ဒါဝိဒ်၏သားတော်၊ ဓမ္မဒေသနာဆရာဖြစ်သော ယေရုရှလင်မင်းကြီး၏စကားဟူမူကား၊
2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher; vanity of vanities, all is vanity.
၂အနတ္တသက်သက်၊ အနတ္တသက်သက်၊ ခပ်သိမ်းသောအရာတို့သည် အနတ္တဖြစ်ကြ၏။
3 What profit hath man of all his labour wherein he laboureth under the sun?
၃လူသည် နေအောက်မှာ ကြိုးစားအားထုတ်သမျှ တို့၌ အဘယ်အကျိုးရှိသနည်း။
4 One generation goeth, and another generation cometh; and the earth abideth for ever.
၄လူတဆက်လွန်သွား၏။ တဆက်ပေါ်လာ၏။ မြေကြီးမူကား အစဉ်အမြဲတည်၏။
5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he ariseth.
၅နေလည်းထွက်လျက် ဝင်လျက်၊ ထွက်ရာအရပ်သို့ တဖန်ပြေးလျက်၊ တောင်လမ်းသို့လိုက်၍၊ တဖန် မြောက်လမ်းသို့ ပြန်လည်တတ်၏။
6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it turneth about continually in its course, and the wind returneth again to its circuits.
၆လေသည်လည်း အစဉ်လည်သွား၍၊ လည်ပြီး သောအရပ်သို့ တဖန်ပြန်၍လည်ပြန်တတ်၏။
7 All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; unto the place whither the rivers go, thither they go again.
၇ခပ်သိမ်းသော မြစ်တို့သည် ပင်လယ်ထဲသို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ပင်လယ်သည် မပြည့် တတ်။ မြစ်ရေသည် စီးထွက်ရာအရပ်သို့ တဖန်ပြန်သွား တတ်၏။
8 All things are full of weariness; man cannot utter [it]: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
၈ခပ်သိမ်းသော အရာတို့သည် လူမပြောနိုင် အောင် ပင်ပန်းခြင်းနှင့် ယှဉ်ကြ၏။ မျက်စိသည် မြင်၍ မကုန်တတ်။ နားသည်လည်း ကြား၍မဝတတ်။
9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
၉ဖြစ်ဘူးသော အရာသည် ဖြစ်လတံ့သောအရာ နှင့်တူ၏။ ယခုပြုသောအမှုသည် ပြုလတံ့သောအမှုအရာမရှိ။
10 Is there a thing whereof men say, See, this is new? it hath been already, in the ages which were before us.
၁၀ကြည့်ပါ။ အသစ်ဖြစ်၏ဟုဆိုရသော အမှုအရာ တစုံတခုရှိသလော။ ထိုအမှုအရာသည် ငါတို့အရင်၊ ရှေးကာလ၌ ဖြစ်ဘူးပြီ။
11 There is no remembrance of the former [generations]; neither shall there be any remembrance of the latter [generations] that are to come, among those that shall come after.
၁၁ရှေးဖြစ်ဘူးသော အမှုအရာတို့ကို မေ့လျော့ တတ်၏။ နောက်ဖြစ်လတံ့သောအမှုအရာတို့ကိုလည်း၊ ထိုအမှုအရာနောက်၌ ဖြစ်လတံ့သော သူတို့သည် မေ့လျော့ကြလိမ့်မည်။
12 I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
၁၂ငါဓမ္မဒေသနာဆရာသည်၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌ ဣသရေလရှင်ဘုရင်ဖြစ်စဉ်တွင်၊
13 And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven: it is a sore travail that God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith.
၁၃မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်အောက်၌ ပြုသမျှတို့ကို ဥာဏ်ပညာ အားဖြင့်၊ ရှာဖွေစစ်ဆေးခြင်းငှါ နှလုံးထား၏။ လူသား တို့ ကျင်လည်ရာဘို့ ထိုပင်ပန်းစေသောအမှုကို ဘုရား သခင်ပေးတော်မူပြီ။
14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind.
၁၄နေအောက်မှာ ပြုလေသမျှသော အမှုအရာ တို့ကို ငါမြင်ပြီ။ အလုံးစုံတို့သည် အနတ္တအမှု၊ လေကို ကျက်စားသော အမှုဖြစ်ကြ၏။
15 That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.
၁၅ကောက်သောအရာကို မဖြောင့်စေနိုင်။ ချို့တဲ့ သောအရာကို မရေတွက်ရာ။
16 I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I have gotten me great wisdom above all that were before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart hath had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.
၁၆ငါသည် ကိုယ်စိတ်နှလုံးထဲမှာ ပြောဆိုသည်ကား၊ ငါသည်ငါ့အရင်၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌ ဖြစ်ဘူးသောသူ အပေါင်းတို့ထက် ကြီးမြင့်၍ပညာရှိ၏။ အကယ်စင်စစ် ငါ့စိတ်နှလုံးသည် ပညာအတတ်များကို အထူးသဖြင့် လေ့ကျက်၏။
17 And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also was a striving after wind.
၁၇ပညာတရားကို၎င်း၊ လျှပ်ပေါ်ခြင်းနှင့် မိုက်မဲ ခြင်းတို့ကို၎င်း ပိုင်းခြား၍ သိအံ့သောငှါ ငါသည်နှလုံး ထား၏။ ထိုအမှုသည်လည်း၊ လေကို ကျက်စားသောအမှု ဖြစ်သည်ကို ရိပ်မိ၏။
18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
၁၈အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ပညာများလျှင်၊ ငြိုငြင်စရာ အကြောင်းများ၏။ သိပ္ပံအတတ် တိုးပွားသောသူသည် ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်း တိုးပွားတတ်၏။
